A few of us have been chatting on the thread 'Happy New Year'

I like the veggie idea...I add lots of veggies to what I make. Just made a pot of chili today--celery, onion, tomatoes, and butternut squash make it healthy and hearty.

Welcome and thanks for introducing yourself! Feel free to join in the team challenges and other forums.

That chicken wild rice sounds delicious. A great way to tame it down is to mix in some cooked fresh vegetables. Start by adding a little, then slowly get to the point where there are actually more fresh veggies in the bowl than the Panera soup.

Hey all! I'm new too!! Just signed on and ready to get healthy with my fellow Minnesotans. Losing weight has always been difficult for me, especially since I work at Panera. LOVE the food!

However, last October I had two heart attacks and was hospitalized for a few weeks at North Memorial. Outstanding hospital! So, in order to keep up with my two teens and beautiful wife, I need to stop eating chicken wild rice and fresh bread and save those for special occasions instead of every meal. LOVE chicken wild rice. Since I'm not Norwegian I won't be supplementing my diet with lutefisk! :) I've heard too many horror stories of what it tastes like. :)

I'm here because I realize I need other people in to help hold me accountable. Fitbit is great but only goes so far, especially when I smell fresh bagels at work. Oh yeah, and as you can see by my username I love talking about God. I'm a born-again believer so if anyone ever wants to chat, I'm always game. Of course I'll always talk about food too! I'm always looking to fill my recipe box with new and healthy options as my other username choice was chefdad.
