Vanessa,
We are delighted to welcome you to the Twin Cities, and to the Spark Minneapolis/ St. Paul team. That long commute sounds awful, and I am glad you got it down to manageable size.

There are so many awesome things on the Sparkpeople website to help you make your journey easier and more fun. I'd highly recommend setting up your webpage, and start blogging. It is mentally good for you, and you can start to choose friends from the people that comment.

Track your food, fitness and water. All of these things are critical to your success. If you put in your starting weight, Sparkpeople determines your calories per day, and makes it pretty easy to stay within the ranges.

I'd also really recommend the recipes section. There are so many good, healthy recipes that you can make for you and your kids, that you will all like.

As for getting fit, there are so many good exercise videos on this website, and on You Tube. Running is a great goal. It is good for you and will really help with getting toned.

As MPLSKEN said, we are here to help, and will help you with anything you need. Just post and we will reply.

Have a magnificent day.

Spark on.

Welcome to the Twin Cities and our team! Let us know whatever we can do to help you bust through your plateau and support your fitness journey! Personally, I always recommend tracking your food/nutrition for those just starting out or struggling with a plateau (if you aren't already). Even just a few weeks can often shed some light on trouble areas.

emoticon So... to introduce myself. My names Vanessa and I recently moved to St. Paul. I have been working in Eden Prairie since November and commuting over 120 miles a day. So me and my 3 children moved to St. Paul from a small town in southern MN. It's a change!

I've been 'working' on my health & wellness over the past year or so, on and off. I'm down to about where I usually plateau- and really wanna focus on getting fit. I am really interested in taking up running- have played with the idea for over a year. I also enjoy yoga and work hard to keep up on my Mindfulness practice.

Looking forward to finding some additional support in this part of my journey in life...
