Hey Laura, thanks for the intro! There are so many great resources here! I recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker, too, because that's the key element in weight loss for most people. By tracking everything since May 2011 and using the other features here to keep myself focused, I lost 90 pounds and have maintained that loss for over a year now. It takes a little bit of time, but it is sooooo worth it!

Also, there are a bunch of challenges going on all the time (in this team and others), check them out! And, let us know if you have any questions or need any encouragement!

p.s. Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

Welcome Laura! Congrats on your upcoming wedding. The nutrition tracker was key for me when I first started. I hope you will find it helpful too. Everyone has different motivators so keep trying things till you find something that works for you.

Hi Laura,
Good luck with all of your efforts! Moving, buying a house, getting married and trying to live healthy (understatement coming up...) are all huge life events, and it appears that through it all, you have kept your sense of humor! There are a lot of different team challenges out there such as this team's mileage challenge. For me, it is often enough to help me remain consistent and accountable - to make sure I get some miles in.
Whatever path you take, I wish you the best of luck. And by the way. even though I'm almost a year late - Welcome to Minnesota!

Hi All.

I'm Laura and I'm relatively new to MN (almost at one year!).

When we moved, I started to work from home and that has been a killer in terms of staying healthy. Too much snacking and not enough moving. Now that we have settled in, bought our first place and are planning a wedding, I'm realizing that life isn't going to get easier to stay healthy. I have to make the decision it is a priority and just commit.

So I'm here, I'm weighing myself again for the first time in a while. I'm even telling people what I weigh to help hold myself accountable and to stop lying to myself! And i'm moving more. Constantly.

Wish me luck!
