Thank you very much. If anyone knows of any hiking groups in the Twin Cities area (besides meetup.com), let me know. I'm not opposed to meetup, it's just I keep ending up on a waiting list for the hikes they fill up so fast.

There are a ton of resources here! I recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker because that is the key element in weight loss for most people. I think this important for most people, and especially important if you are looking to lose a lot of weight, like I was. Then, once you are comfortable with tracking your food on a daily basis, you can slowly start adding in and exploring more areas of this site. I still find something new here almost every day. It works well for me. I've tracked everything since last May and am 89 pounds lighter to show for it. It takes a little bit of time, but it is sooooo worth it!

Welcome to the team Cassie! SparkPeople has some great tools to keep you on track. Glad your BF is OK after the bicycle accident. It is great that you recognized that you were using food as a comfort tool. Now is the time to switch to other healthy ways to deal with the stress. You'll find some great tips from other Sparkers and some articles. You can do this!

Hey all- My name is Cassie and I am 26 years old. I live in Crystal with my Boyfriend and our two dogs. I am looking to lose around 120-130 pounds. I am the heaviest I have ever been at 260 pounds. I got my weight down to 170 twice, but ended up gaining it back. My previous highest weight was 225, but with my last weight gain I went higher than I have ever been after my boyfriend was in a bicycle accident (he is fine now) and I went back to using food as a crutch/comfort. I'm looking to get off my butt and lose the weight for real this time. I really enjoy walking my dogs, so I am going to try to do that more often, which will be good for me and them. This is my first time on spark!
