Thank you for your encouragement. I will look at the sodium and trying to stay toward the bottom end of my calorie range.

There are a ton of resources here! I recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker (as it sounds like you have) because that is the key element in weight loss for most people. Then, once you are comfortable with tracking your food on a daily basis, you can slowly start adding in and exploring more areas of this site. I still find something new here almost every day. It works well for me. I've tracked everything since last May and am 88 pounds lighter to show for it. It takes a little bit of time, but it is sooooo worth it!

p.s. Have you looked at your sodium levels? I know a lot of people only focus on the calories, but there are a lot of different aspects to the nutrition tracking. Personally, if I go over my sodium levels, it throws everything out of whack. I really try to keep everything in their appropriate ranges. Also, I look at the numbers as suggestions (averages that work for the majority of people under most situations). You may need to play with the calorie range a little bit and see if going slightly higher or lower works better for you. Personally, I had to start with a lower caloric intake than suggested to see results (although I still kept my vitamins and minerals in the appropriate range). Now, I can actually go higher than suggested. So, your mileage may vary...

Hope this helps, sorry it was long!

Help- I have a lot of weight to lose. I have walked faithfully everyday, 1/2 hour per day. I have diligently tracked and measured my food intake for 2 weeks. Yet, I have not lost one thing! Is there anybody else out there with a similar starting experience who can give me encouragement to keep going?
