Weight-loss CAN help with reducing pain because it reduces the pressure on our spine/joints.

If you haven't already, I would be inclined to ask for a referral to Physiotherapist so that you can properly be informed of what you can/cannot safely do for exercise.

Where it comes to the pain, have you tried Acupuncture at all? It can be quite successful for pain and a myriad of other ailments. I have used it with considerable success for Essential Tremors, but I often had pain, or emotional issues, or fatigue, or asthma while i was with the Dr who did the Acupuncture and he would pop in extra needles for that too. They treat the body, not just the one thing!

Where it comes to nutrition, I suggest that you weigh all of your food for increased accuracy and enter it all into the nutrition tracker. That is what helped me to stay focused, and to ensure that I stayed within my calorie range. It also enabled me to tweak my intake as and when necessary. Just start this journey off with baby steps, changing only one or two things to start with, and when your mind/body has gotten used to the changes, add something else to the mix.

I wish you well on your journey - I am sure that you will find a great source of support on here - but for that you will need to post on the message boards as well :-)

Good luck,
Kris

I have scheuermans disease or juvenille kyphosis. I am now 25 and was diagnosed 15 years ago. I was in a spinal brace for 7 years, but my spinal curve was not corrected fully. I am a hunched back gal with a miss alligned head, neck and sholders. I also suffer from the tight hamstrings. This all leads to constant backpain and a low self image.

But I want to lose weigjg. Maybe it will help the pain. I am ready to get my life back in controle aand could really use some suport

In this fight I can win. I wont let the world get me down.
