And on Day 4, I'm sick of salad. I'm going to read some more to remind myself why I'm eating it. At least tomorrow I don't have to prepare it myself -- going to a favorite spot where they make your salad to order.

Day 3 was different -- I was out of the house at a potluck for lunch (I stopped at the grocery store and brought four vegs for salad), then at a bar/restaurant for the afternoon with friends. I didn't eat quite enough at lunch, so after I saw my DH and our friend order the spinach salad, I ordered one vegan, no dressing. That helped. DH and I came home and I had a huge dinner of split pea soup (he'd started it before!) and salad, with a cup of corn.

I'm stuffed.

I've always had a soft spot for penguins, they are SO CUTE. Love your Spark Name and profile image.

Sounds like you are right on track with ETL! I think feeling so good is part of what helps people stay on the plan. If you do go off, eat some junk, you'll feel so bad you won't want to do it again!

I stay on my road and I don't change lanes.

The taste of those beignets eaten with a little cup of strong chicory coffee is burned in my memory- yummy. I suspect they would not make me as happy now though as they used to.

Glad you have joined us!

Greetings, ETLers

I read ETL over vacation the last week of July. Knew I had a trip to New Orleans coming up for work, so I decided to wait until August 12 (yesterday) to start. That gave me four days at home in a row to work through the difficulties of the first few days. BUT, I practiced the first week of August with a few meals. Notably, I was out of town for two days and I ate huge salads for lunch and dinner -- and bought myself some flaxseed and vinegar (for salads) and such. By the end of the second day I could feel a difference.

And that's where I am today -- end of my second day. As of this morning I was down 4 pounds (water weight, I'm sure) since last week. I haven't been particularly hungry. I'm still in the honeymoon period, however, so I guess overall my jury is still out. So far I'm very curious to see what my body does when I feed it all the super nutrients for awhile.

A brief story: My younger son is 3 years old. I brought back a few beignets from New Orleans Thursday, and he took one look at it and nearly burst into tears: "I don't like that!" He's a real fruitatarian. I sent the rest of those things to work with DH on Friday as I started my plan. (I didn't really like them, either.)
