Yea I am 27 years old and have more hello kitty clothes and shoes then my 7 year old daughter. I've tried too many times to count to try and gain weight. I am kind of on the same plan/track - increase water and calories to maintain my current weight and then hopefully gain about 10-15 lbs. It is hard as hell to just increase calories to maintain my weight. As a gymnastics coach I burn a lot of calories daily. My doc wants me to take in roughly 3000 calories a day. That alone is daunting let alone how many it will take to actually gain weight.

Yes, it is just as hard to gain weight as it is for others to lose it. People think its wonderful being so small. If they only knew. I'm 26 and still where children's clothes. It's hard to look grown up when your wearing bedazzles.

My two main goals right now are increasing my water intake and reaching my calories to at least maintain weight. Once I reach those I will move on to actually trying to gain. Boy this is harder than I thought.

I totally understand being underweight. I've been "too thin" my whole life even when trying to gain weight. I am rooting for you to gain the weigh you are waning to put on. I think that being a minority means that there aren't a lot of people that understand his hard it can be. Just like those trying to lose weight us "weight gain seekers" need all the support and motivation that we can get.

What sucks is that there aren't any advertisements for underweight people . Everything I see are ads or whatever to lose weight . At least we have this forum :)

Hi,
Just wanted to say your not alone, and being a "normal" size is over rated.
I do know what it's like wanting more padding.
best of luck with your goals

My name is Dawn and I'm 26. I am very petite and have been underweight my whole life (4'11" and currently 78lbs). I have tried and tried to gain weight to no avail. I joined Sparpeople yesterday and tracked what I ate and have realized I am not even eating enough to maintain my weight. So now I am on a mission. I have set myself goals to reach and have set people to keep me accountable. I am hoping this works. I know I will never be normal sized, but I would at least like a lil padding.
