"To be honest about it...I know nothing about fats/carbs/protein rations. I have no idea how to eat properly."

Use your Spark nutritional tracker...put in your goals & it will tell you how many fats, carbs & proteins to eat every day..and it will also give you menu ideas of HEALTHY (ie: not McDonalds) foods to eat!

I gained 20 lbs through, well a lot of eating! I made sure that my body would feel good as I did it, so I kept a balance between my carbs proteins and fats.
I also made sure I was eating a lot of minimally processed foods, and a lot of foods that were small in size but calorie dense, such as home roasted nuts, homemade granola and things like that.
As long as you have an appetizing diet rich in whole foods, putting on weight shouldn't be too difficult.

To be honest about it...I know nothing about fats/carbs/protein rations. I have no idea how to eat properly. All I know is I can't pass a Mcdonalds without stopping. I make dinner every night for my family, I try to incorporate a lot of pasta, chicken, vegetables..that sort of thing but that is the healthiest meal I probably get all day.

I have a 6 year old and a 1 1/2 year old and go to school full time. So other than chasing after them, my exercise is nil.

I have no idea where to even start.

I also suffer from CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) so I am exhausted from minimal activity. I wonder if a healthier diet would help it. I can testify to the fact that eating a lot of junk does not pack on the pounds. I think it just makes me even more sluggish.

Like I said I have no idea how or what to even start doing.

How did you put on 20 pounds? If I can ask. :) Thanks!

I used to be about 20 lbs underweight, and it was difficult for me to put the weight back on but I managed to do it. What is your activity level, and your ratio of carbs/proteins/fats?

i wish i had an answer for you! im guessing since your mom is also small, its genetic & not a thyroid problem? how active are you? i know that the main problem i have with putting on weight is that i run like a crazy woman - so the weight just falls off.

have you tried playing around with your fat/carb/protein ratios?

do you lift weights? maybe putting on some muscle weight would help?

i feel your pain, im 25 and i wish i had the sexy curvy girls body - i want to shop with my friends, not the jr high girls!

Hello. I am very new this type of thing. I have never blogged before but I am looking for some serious help and support. I am 29 years old, 5'2" tall and have only ever weighed more than 86lbs twice in my life, both times I was pregnant and then lost the baby weight within 3 months of giving birth. I have no protruding ribs or my chest isn't caving in but I do wear a size 0 but I am healthy for the most part. I eat way over 2000 calories a day but I am obviously not doing something right because I can loose 3lbs in one day if I don't eat but I can't gain 10lbs to save my life (not literal).

I get so tired of people telling me how skinny I am and to eat a cheeseburger. I eat more than most of my friends who are a size 14. Obviously I am skinny, my mother is 5'4" and weighs 110 lbs and that took her until she was 45 to do that. Before that she was only 90lbs for years.

Not to sound gross but every time I eat, It goes through me in a matter of min. I think that has something to do with it but what can I do about that?

I am just frustrated and I guess I am writing quite a bit. I apologize. I guess I am just looking for a quick fix, like a magic candy bar that I can eat and I will wake up looking like a curvy 29 year old and not a skinny 14 year old. :)
