Hey everybody! I am new to the group, but not to Spark. Back in 2011 I got serious about my health and lost about 50 pounds. I put every bit of that back on again over the last two years, which involved some serious changes in my life. I was told by my doctor that my weight and blood sugars are bordering on a problem and that if I lost the weight again I have a good chance of getting those back under control again and so I turned to the place that helped me the first time.

I am a convert to Catholicism, in part because of my husband of 4 years. He is a cradle Catholic and very knowledgeable about his faith. I was raised Lutheran, but found myself increasingly bothered by both the theology and practice in that church. At one point it got so bad that I stopped going to church entirely. Then I met my husband and asked him to teach me his faith. He did so, patiently answering my questions and explaining his understanding. I entered the Church in May 2014 and cannot be more content. I have since changed parishes and am active as an extraordinary minister, lector, cantor, and substitute adorer. I have also participated in several online bible studies since there aren't many live options in my area.

I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you as I work on getting myself as healthy in body as I am in spirit.
