emoticon back, Chelle!
I agree with everyone else that we go forward, slip back, and start over. We only fail if we DON'T start over. My health issues can cause depression, but SP(alongwith a lot of Faith!) has helped me manage the pain and the depression much better.
I've gained over 35 pounds in the past few months, due to meds( and my "giving in" to the urges) and now that the main culprit has been eliminated, the weight is coming off. Won't be fast, but it IS moving!
This team, and the others I belong to, help me not isolate myself.
Thanks to everyone!!!
SO glad you are sticking with it, and with us!

Welcome back Chelle! It's great that you're here. The fact that you keep returning shows that ultimately you aren't willing to accept failure.

I have also dealt with depression in the past. Most years it was just the seasonal depression, and it wasn't debilitating, but a few years ago I had a very bad case of it, and it lasted more than a year. It's hard to advise people to reach out to others when they are suffering from depression, knowing that that's the last thing they want to do when they're in the midst of it, but hopefully knowing that there are others who can empathize will help you if it rears its ugly head again. I am very thankful to say that I haven't dealt with it at all since that last bout.

Starting out with a clean slate is what we are about on this team.

Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things:... Psalm 98

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though... we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day my day....So fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal
2 COR 16-18

A moment after I posted I read my Catholic Digest "Quiet Moment of the Day". I doubt it was a coincidence. I felt compelled to share:

Divine Mercy Sunday

"Let our judgment of souls cease, for Godís mercy upon them is extraordinary."

Well said, Amanda. Those are the times we need others the most!

I remember a For Better or For Worse cartoon once when the little school-aged boy was bothering his mother and trying to get his busy mother's attention. She was writing from home, and concentrating hard. He kept chattering to her and she was getting frustrated. Finally, he said, "Can I have a hug?" She turned to him and yelled, "But you've been so annoying the last half hour!" He said, "But that's when I need one the most."

So sad but true, right?

Anyway, Chelle, it is wonderful that you are back with us again. I myself have started and re-started my program too many times to count now.

After reading inspirational stories here on sparks and stories from people who have reached goal, I now realize that losing weight and becoming healthier is never a straight line. We fall, we get back up, we fall again.

We need to just keep going though. I think life in general is like that - as well as our spiritual life! Thank God that He forgives us each and every time we need forgiveness!

Together, we can keep plugging away, making some better choices every day, and keep going.

Welcome back Chelle!

Dealing with depression is really the pits on a day to day basis (I deal with it myself). Just remember that when you really feel like you want to pull away, that's when you need someone the most. Here for you!

I have been here more than once and it does get embarrassing to say "it's me again!" but I need to be here and I can't pretend I'm new. I would slip up somehow!

I lost 30 pounds the first time and left still needing to lose 30, now it's 35! I have a couple of health problems, but two years ago depression hit and it's by far the hardest thing I have had to fight. At it's worse I tend to pull away from everyone and then I regret it! I'm back and I know sticking around will help me find healing! I hope you will give me another chance even though it may take time!
