Hi Floradeb, great to have you here.

Sounds like you've got a bit of work to do there with "downsizing". Great to hear that you are a horticulturist, we might need some specialist help here sometimes emoticon

I sort of introduced myself on another thread, but basically, I'm a compulsive gardener, frugalista and curb shopper who is starting over in a new place here in North Florida. Well, not exactly starting over, I still have a lot of stuff, but I'm moving into a tiny apartment (my dream) and will be blogging about how I manage to squeeze all my stuff in, or purge things I can't squeeze in.

I've gone from a 3 BR, 2 BA 1 car garage down to this tiny 450 sf place, so I've already purged a lot. Lost some things out of necessity that I really miss, but they are just things. My important things I held onto, and although I think I'm at a place where I can't get rid of anything else, I know I'm not. More can go. My goal is to eventually own some land and create a home from shipping containers, so I will have to really pare down to the bare minimum for that, which means "curbing" my curb-shopping and junk picking tendencies.

I'm a horticulturist, so I can't live without growing something. I have a community garden plot for my veggies, but I grow most of my ornamentals at home. I'm really into shade plants, especially blooming shade plants. I love swapping seeds and even plants locally, but I don't mail plants anymore. Too expensive, and too many complaints about dead plants that weren't my fault.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.
