I was out of town this past Saturday and will be out of town for the coming holiday. I will definitely try to make it the following Saturday. My daughter's going to be thrilled!

Of course, my son started skating when he was 5 and he still takes advanced lessons even though he passed the class over a year ago. There are several kids (and adults) in both the beginner and advanced classes. The only thing is you have to be there by 10:20 or they sometimes won't let you in (weird, I know).

I hope to see you there tomorrow or next Saturday. Trust me, Saturday mornings are the only time you want to take a 6 year old there! The teens are still in bed at that time :)

The skating sounds like a wonderful idea! Quick question: Is it okay to bring kids to both the lessons and the session? I have a 6 year old and the only way I'd be able to make it would be if she can come too because Daddy works nights and is asleep on Saturday mornings. What fun!

A few of us from the Fresno team go roller skating at CalSkate Clovis every Saturday morning for exercise. If you want to go to lessons you have to be there by 10:20 and lessons are $10 which includes skate rental and a 2 hour session after the lesson. If you don't want lessons it's from 11-1 with the cost being $9 if you need to rent skates and $6 if you have your own. It's a lot of fun and the lessons are great if you aren't confident skating. One of our leaders (Jenni Rock) goes skating on Thursdays nights occasionally.

I'm going to school 2 nights a week (plus working and I have a family) and stopped going to the gym...bad move on my part because I've gained back about 25 pounds since I started going back to school. I'm committed until June.

We used to have an active Fresno team with monthly meetings and lots of little get togethers but it got to where people weren't really interested in it anymore so we gave up. We've met a farmers markets, walked in the parks, did Wii Just Dance at my house, walked early mornings in the mall, and had potlucks. I also had a hula hoop day at a park and none of the people who RSVP'd came. I can't commit to as much as I did before until I finish school in June but I can do a few things if people want to get together. I like working out this time of year much more than the hot months.

Which part of town do you live in and what is your schedule like?

HI, I signed up for spark people about a year ago only to get recipes online. I lost a lot of weight last year when I was on a "diet" more like taking a diet pill, Now I have high blood pressure and just about put all the weight back on. I have to do this and I can't do it alone. I am in this alone.....the only one in my family, the only one amongst my friends. I am asking for people out there that are ready to lose weight and change our lifestyle of eating to lets get ready set and go! We can't do it alone. lets get together to walk, exercise at the park, get other Fresno Spark People and people in the community for a walk-a-thon for a healthy community. Support each other on grocery shopping and menu making. For anyone out there who needs accountability!!
