Hi, Jeanette. Welcome to the team.

Many of us, if not most, have been on that same path where we think we can do it by ourselves. In the end we all have to admit that it is much easier to accomplish with friends who are travelling the same road.

Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. And don't hesitate to ask questions or share information.

Best wishes to you......

Hello All. I am a new team member but not new to SparkPeople. I have neglectly my health a lot of the years. i was told in 2007 I was heading down a road of Type 2 diabetes. I stopped going to the doctor and thought I could fight this all on my own. I decided to go to the doctor again last week just to see if anything was going on that I didn't know about. My cholesterol is a little high but my fasting blood sugar was out of whack. So I am back on metformin and I am now on the dreaded insulin. I am trying not to beat myself up over it because I could have prevented this whole mess. Now I am paying the price but am more determined then ever to drop my weight and get better. I will be 40 in January and have 2 kids and a disabled husband. I have to be around long for them. Thankfully I am only on one insulin shot a day of long lasting insulin. I have to lose 30 pounds before she will even consider taking me off of it.

Thanks for listening/reading!
