Thanks Kriszta. I think I'll try doing both books. I had already read chapters 1 to 4 in the Blue book before joining the team.

Hi Towhee,
usually it is the best to start with pink book because its structure is straightforward and builds up the skills more gradually.
But you are most welcome to the blue book challenge, I think you would benefit from doing it with us. We are still at Week 1, chapters 1 and 2, in the Goals!! forum

You may do as SUSANCDN wrote, practice foundation strategies one by one, but at the same time proceed with the group.

If the blue book challenge doesn't meet your expectations you can switch to the blue book anytime.
Even if there is no active pink book challenge at this time, you can find the Day 1- 42 message boards in the General Discussion forum, and see what other readers had to say bout each day. There will be readers and support if you post there! : )

Maintenance Lessons Learned:
-go on with the healthy lifestyle learned in weight loss phase
-just add healthy foods gradually to stop losing
-work out every day - 30-60 minutes is enough to maintain weight and good mood
-do not try to balance overeating by extreme workouts, it is not going to work
-avoid overeating, instead of satisfaction you get stronger cravings

Hi, I heard about the Beck program and ordered both the Pink and Blue books.
Question: Which makes more sense; start with the Pink book or jump right in and join the Blue Challenge?

HI MAM8591,
welcome to the group!
I would be glad to be your coach but I already have two "coachees" and this is the maximum I can do at a time.

Hi, I too, had difficult times tying t find a coach. I ended up doing it on my own and it worked fine. I don’t have time in my life right now to be a coach or have a coach but I am sure there is someone out there who has time. Keep looking! Good luck!

I have been up and down the scale all my life. I am sick of being heavy. 59 years young and ready to move on from this roller coaster.

When in my teens I had read a title of a book It's not what your eating it's what's eating you...Boy I wish I took notice of it then and saved myself a lifetime of up and down the scale. I just wasn't ready for it then but am now.

I am retiring soon from being a custodial I log in 10,000 steps a day just at work. So I really need to learn to think correctly to keep the recent weight i just lost (57pds). And not gain more.

I bought the pink book 6 months ago followed it for a few weeks then stopped. I really liked it just got discouraged cause no one would be my coach. I asked a few people they were all for it and then just faded away.

I thought here I could find the coaching I needed. I need to start reading the pink book over again and start fresh. I also just bought the blue too.

I hope to find a coach and help with this journey to freedom...

Hello to everyone!!!
