Wed, 19 Jun 2019 07:19:18 EST just checking in - from Kelly :) Good afternoon Spark Friends!

I wanted to take a minute to reach out to each of the clubs I’m a moderator for. I joined SparkPeople a few months back and was actively taking the challenges and making friends and accomplishing my weight loss goals. Then a few things started to change in my life. I had to deal with a family crisis, some health complications of my own, and an 8-yr old child who is suffering from yet-to-be-diagnosed health issues. I don't have healthy coping skills, so... Sun, 24 Mar 2019 16:09:33 EST starting over Once again I am going to try a new approach . I think I will try with a 12 step program as well. What does anyone think?
303 Wed, 31 Oct 2018 09:00:35 EST Measure Eyeballing it isn't working any more (ugh). Starting to gain weight (again) & just eating like a crazy person. Mon, 16 Apr 2018 15:34:24 EST Boredom My husband was critically ill before he passed so I was always busy. Between him and the two dogs, I had no time to be bored. He passed 16 mos ago and then our older dog passed 6 mos later. In the past year I have gained 30 pounds just from excessive snacking due to boredom. I know I need to join a gym but I am not sure I can afford it. I have social anxiety too. I want to go to church but don’t know where I would fit best. Tue, 29 Mar 2016 10:44:29 EST Is it eating through boredom? I started calorie counting last week. It made me realise that I'd been masking boredom with food. At least that's what I thought in the beginning. But I have loads to do. Just don't want to do it. Then I realised it might be more a case of I'm dissatisfied with my life? Or maybe it's an inability to enjoy. Anyway it's something I need to investigate/think about etc. So I thought I'd just put it out there. :-)
Mon, 21 Mar 2016 17:38:28 EST Did you stay in range today? I have just started to count calories and had 2 successful days (1160 & 1220) but yesterday went a bit haywire (2207). Could have been a lot worse though. Hopefully by tackling the boredom issue I will be able to lose the weight and keep it off. 3.25 pounds off so far!
213 Mon, 21 Mar 2016 04:26:08 EST Sounds like a good team... At night over eating sweets has become a really bad habit for me. Going to bed feeling bad and sad is getting old. I eat that way out of boredom and loneliness. I have a family living with me (husband and daughter), but I don't have a girl friend to talk to and that is a real bummer. If I sound really sad, just stop reading...I need to vent right now. If I would get into bed by 8:30 on work nights, it would help and track all meals (not just breakfast and lunch. Tracking night time eating... Sun, 20 Mar 2016 22:58:43 EST Need to beat eating through boredom thing! Just started on a calorie controlled diet and have realised that I have been using food to overcome boredom. So I need to learn to overcome boredom.

213 Sun, 20 Mar 2016 11:30:50 EST Looking forward! I can't believe that I waited so long to get serious. I have been a member since 2011 and yet I never stuck to the program. I have been consistently logging and exercising now since the first of the year and have lost an honest 9+ pounds. I know that as long as I keep at it, I will slowly get rid of this extra baggage. As it has turned out after the first couple of weeks of logging it got easier and now it does not seem like such a big deal. This site is so much more than just a nutritio... I have attempted to get my weight down before and I know I can do it because in the past I lost 60 pounds doing Low Carb. Now that I am to the point I need to lose weight again, I am having issues. I keep starting off strong and doing well! Then I hit about the 10-15lbs lost point and I sabotage myself and gain it all back. This time feels different though. Before I tried to do this without any support or anyone to talk to about my issues, no on... Mon, 13 Jan 2014 07:32:28 EST Hello. When I first joined this site, the site decided that it would be enough for me to lose about 36 pounds. That's not so bad. Then I went to another site that would show me what I should look like at my target weight goal. I still looked fat. I think it might be because of all those scrawny models out there. Anyway, whatever the case, I decided that I want to lose even more. Now I have 60 pounds to lose. I hope I did not set an unrealistic goal. I used the BMI chart to help me. Plus I never had ... Sun, 12 Jan 2014 03:11:09 EST I'm new! Hi everybody, I'm new! I'm Karen and I've been with SP since 8/11. I looked over this team before joining and decided that it could really fit the bill! The afternoons and evenings are the hardest for me. We farm (dairy), so our main meal is at noon, just like those of old! So that makes for a light snacking situation in the evening and that's what I have trouble with. I try to eat my freggies especially at that time, but I find that I need something more in the protein dept. or so. I ... Fri, 10 Jan 2014 16:14:57 EST Hello! I am so glad I found this forum, hoping it will help with my eating habits. It goes from one extreme to the next. I eat when I'm bored (mostly at work sitting at desk) or at night. I think about food a lot. It doesn't even have to be about bad food, I crave healthy foods too. I am leaning towards becoming vegetarian. I don't want to eat meat anymore but sometimes I crave it. Sun, 16 Jun 2013 07:34:00 EST This team suits me perfectly Boredom eating is exactly my problem. I do great most of the day, breakfast, lunch all the way to dinner. Then when everything slows down around the house, I want to snack, constantly. Somedays I do pretty good, otherdays not so good. So I'm really glad to see this team, I don't know how I didn't see it before. Mon, 10 Jun 2013 12:09:42 EST Trying Again Hello all,

Well, I'm not new to SparkPeople but I am trying again. I am fatter than I've been in a long time. I've had a difficult few years first with losing my job, health problems and family tragedies, among other things. One month ago I was happy about having lost 8 pounds for my wedding. Now, not only have I gained again those 8 pounds but added 6 more. Why, you ask me? well, as for sure many of you have experienced, I am a victim of Yo-yo dieting. Sat, 6 Apr 2013 12:19:26 EST What are your fitness goals for Spring? For me, Spring means new beginnings and a chance for renewal. Many of us, including me, have by now abandon of so called "New Year's Resolution's" to become healthier versions of ourselves so that we do go into the coming year the same way we left the last. Not very long! I am excited to see other people trying to overcome one of the things that got me to 200 pounds... Looking forward to our journey together. Mon, 4 Mar 2013 10:46:14 EST Replacing Snacking with Drinking Green Tea Hi all,

The most tempting time to snack for me is between 8 - 10 p.m. It's the one time of the day when I can finally sit down and relax for an hour or two and "reward" myself for a busy day.... But certainly not a good habit when I am trying to lose weight.

Now I have started to drink flavored green tea, and it is working as a substitute for "munching" And I feel much more in control in my eating the next morning too. :)

Any other ideas out there? Mon, 18 Feb 2013 10:12:05 EST Too much thinking about food! don't mean to be a whiner......BUT!!! Since starting sparkpeople 4 weeks ago, hv gained 3 lbs! I have only gone over 1200 cal on 4 days out of the weeks I've been here.......????

It's a puzzlement, don't know where to go from here other than to cut back from the 1100-1200 calories?????

24 Sun, 17 Feb 2013 15:20:07 EST Moving on after two bad days Thursday and Today I did not work out in the morning and went way over on my calories, I was fine in the morning and at night, but something happens to me in the afternoon:(. Sat, 16 Feb 2013 21:27:15 EST Hi, new to the team! Hi, I just found this through one of the SparkPeople emails. I'm really bad about snacking at night out of boredom. Thu, 14 Feb 2013 10:28:51 EST Hi, I'm new to the team Hi everyone, I just found this team and it sounds like just what I need. I do fine in the morning and through lunchtime, but late afternoon is tough - I think it's because my energy starts to go down. I have two little girls (one and a half and four) and this is also the time when they are driving me crazy the most (I stay at home with them). I've tried having a snack at around three, but it's more than hunger it's like anxiety that makes me want to keep snacking on everything and anything...
