I once had a waist-line, back when dinosaurs trod the earth and I want that body definition back! So where do I start, and is it too late by now? Mon, 20 Aug 2007 13:38:46 EST Good Morning from the Sunshine State Hi All,

Started off really good this morning. Have the menu planned for the day. Its crazy but with the breeze outside and the way the sun is shining on my islands in the yard,it feels like Fall is in the air. 246 I know that sounds like a hype specially with the temps in the mid 90's here in Central Fl. I think its because we start cruising in Oct. so guess wishful thinking for rushing things along. I shouldn't do that which my mother told me many times not to wish ones l... I just received unsettling information about my lumbar spine, from my doctor, this past Thursday. She discussed several options for me to consider that might help. One is to exercise (walking) and one is to lose weight. So, I'm starting today to incorporate those things into my lifestyle. I am 75 years old. I have exercised a number of times in the past and I have dieted, successfully twice in the past, but need to start both of these things once again. ... People give up too easily and sink back into the black muck of despair.
This leads to depression. But you don't have to remain there and all it takes is to make the decision not to be unhappy. Even a smile from a stranger can change your whole environment. Take life in small pieces. Don't try to take it all in at once!
Clowny74 Wed, 20 Jun 2007 18:31:38 EST Pedometer challenge Tomorrow starts a new month. How about challenging ourselves to walk and record the steps
on a pedometer.
Shirley
Tuesday, May 1
Wore my pedometer for my usual morning walk. I usually have it in the mile mode. I switched it to steps and was surprised to see that I had walked over 3000 steps. I think I'll set my goal at 10,000 steps per day. Every Monday Wednesday and Friday mornings we go to our local Silver sneakers group? We do strength and balance training. Hubby and I usually get there a little early so we can walk some laps around the gym. It would be fun to talk to members from other areas and see what you are doing.

Or we can make our own group and challenge each other to certain activities, following guidelines for our age group.
