Thu, 28 Apr 2016 03:17:12 EST CCgal Hi everybody,
Here I am with about 40 lbs too much. It is a real challenge to lose this weight, everything is stacked against it, age, shut-in, isolation, and so on. But this is a health issue. I am reaching out to the other people who are riding the same train. I am in need of encouragement and a cheering section as we all are. I promise to not whine. thanks CCgal Mon, 25 Apr 2016 10:07:04 EST My experience with digoxin Thought I'd share this in case anyone else ever runs into similar symptoms. I had a-fib this past winter. Meds were changed. One that I hadn't taken before is digoxin. I ended up having electrical cardioversion as meds didn't stop the a-fib. Afterwards I chalked up no energy, depression, little appetite, difficulty focusing my eyes, and my memory and thinking taking a nose dive to the cardioversion and medication changes. I was partly right. It was due to medication - digoxin at a dose of 250... Tue, 19 Apr 2016 20:46:34 EST barbaraj2877 Hello, I have never done anything like this, I have tried but not followed thru. However, my phone died and that is where I kept my password to log into SP. When attempting to get a new password SP site said they sent a link to my email, but it never showed up. Hey all,

I am a 46 year old female, I have a left bundle branch block and right anterior hemi block. This seems to affect me at the weirdest times, with seemingly no trigger or warning. It's congenital, apparently. My mother has it too, and had to get a pacemaker at 61.
Any one else with this condition? How does it affect you? Tue, 26 Jan 2016 19:51:50 EST Anybody else had cardioversion? I was dx'd with idiopathic cardiomyopathy about 5-1/2 years ago, improved with bivent/ICD and two prescription meds. Other than having low blood pressure, I've been reasonably well until I caught a really bad cold last month. That apparently triggered atrial fibrillation that wouldn't quit. I bloated up, was given more drugs, and scheduled for cardioversion which I had recently.

Overall the cardioversion wasn't fun but not too bad either. The sedation worked well. It was a shock to say the least, I was 52 and my only health problem I had (that I knew about obviously) was that I was overweight and needed to get fit. From that day to this now I'm on meds and have a cardiologist ( who is great, by the way) Anyway the adjustment is tough. Anyway here I am on SparkPeople and ready to get fit, drop the excess weight and live on. Thu, 14 Jan 2016 10:45:38 EST Hi Hi I a starting today. I first started my journey to weight loss February 2012 and during that first year I lost almost 40 lbs., strictly from walking, joining a gym and eating healthy. Bad news from my cholesterol tests sent me off the edge for a couple of days but I am back on track. What was most discouraging about the tests was that my LDL jumped from 100 to 155. This blew me away as I had been eating very healthy. I even made it a point to make almost all my 40ish grams of daily fat very healthy ones. However I did discontinue taking Lipitor about a month before I had the tests because of experiencing peripheral neuropathy type symptom... When I moved here, the YMCA was lacking and before I knew it, I was becoming a couch potato. I found a gym I like and here I go! Sat, 14 Dec 2013 13:58:12 EST 2 days post Heart Attack Hi All,
Not sure if this is the right team to join or not. Is there anyone else on this team who has suffered an MI and had to have a stent put in? I'm still kind of in shock and trying to assess my eating and fitness habits and all the changes I have to make.
I am 57 yo and pretty sendentary. I work 2 jobs, one is a desk job, the other is on the weekend and fairly active as it involves standing for 4-5 hours, and some walking around as well as bit of light lifting. My diet prior ... Wed, 11 Dec 2013 13:42:12 EST Hiya Figured I would join this group since I have a few heart health concerns and getting support on Spark would be nice.

I am 34, divorced, no kids, though I really hope I get lucky enough to have one or three. I have high blood pressure (and have since I was in high school, even though I was a normal weight and active), and 5 types of irregular heart rhythm (PVCs, PACs, SVT, heart block and sinus rhythm).

All of that is hereditary, as are aneurysms and other things from tha... Mon, 9 Dec 2013 23:18:01 EST hello Hello. I an a chronic dieter. Well, I should say, diet starter. I very rarely make it past a few days. That is why I have chosen to call myself madhatter78. I try to follow a diet olan and lose interest quickly. However, I am hoping to stick with lifestyle changes, once started, to reach my goal of 75 lbs gone. This is a lot, but I have seen it done. Wish me luck. Mon, 9 Dec 2013 08:35:42 EST Tired of being tired... Hi everyone! My name is Liann and I am beginning again on this journey of weight loss, getting healthier and self-discovery. I am so unsure of what I am doing that it is almost frightening. There is a lot of "do this, not that" stuff out there that I sometimes get confused.
One step at a time is what they say, but sometimes those first several steps can be pretty scary. Sun, 8 Dec 2013 01:36:26 EST My name is Deana I don't know how I feel about the community support, and whether it will be helpful to me, but I am willing to try. yesterday I consumed over 3000 calories telling myself that tomorrow is a new day. I am constantly self destructing and can't seem to stop, but I have at least slowed down. Wed, 4 Dec 2013 11:13:25 EST Carmela Bradford Hello, my name is Carmela, and I have made up my mind that it's time to get the weight off! I know I can do it, but I had to make up my mind and get serious about it. Now I am on the path to taking control of my weight and believing that I will reach my goal of losing 53 pounds. Encouragement from others is always good, and I need as much of it as I can get! Tue, 12 Nov 2013 15:20:31 EST Day One Very complicated diet requirements, supposed to be healthy heart, vitamin K, renal, low salt, to name the ones I remember. Must take 26 pills a day and still have set backs and have to go thru detox and start different prescriptions. When I see other lung transplant patients I am doing great except for being overweight and this is common with the drugs I am on. Tue, 12 Nov 2013 11:39:14 EST Hello from PA Hello all, my name is Heather. I am here to basically just get support when I need it and help others if I can. Mon, 11 Nov 2013 23:20:19 EST Hi - I'm New Hi everyone - I'm Bea. I am re-joining this group after a hiatus.

I had a heart attack in 2003 at the age of 30. My heart is now working fine, but I threw a clot as a result of high blood pressure while I was taking birth control.

Now, I'm 41. I've had RNY and my heart disease has resolved itself. I also no longer have a need for birth control since I had a hysterectomy last year as a result of endometrial cancer.

I'm back on Spark now to get off the last ... Wed, 6 Nov 2013 09:07:13 EST medication problems? At my last cardiologist appointment, I told her about painful cramping in my back, and she doubled my potassium to 20 MEQ 2 X a day. At the same time, she cut my Lisinopril in half, and switched me from 50 mg Coreg, to 100 mg Metoprolol.

Her reasoning was that my BP was getting low, so I understand the halving of the Lisinopril, but within a week of me switching to the Metoprolol from the Coreg, I started having heart fluttering, and it is getting worse.

I used to be on... Mon, 4 Nov 2013 06:39:01 EST Steve Hi, I'm Steve. I'm overweight, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, on all kinds of meds & I love food & drink. I don't want to leave my wife a widow. I don't seem to have the willpower to loose weight on my own. If I don't change something with consumption, I won't live to see 70, in 10 years. I want to live & be healthy but I'm holding myself back. I've never joined anything like this & am not sure what's right or wrong on these boards but I need help please. Sun, 3 Nov 2013 18:08:59 EST
