Wed, 2 Sep 2009 19:34:36 EST Hello from a movie fanatic Years ago I used to go to the movies every Sunday night. One Sunday it was Halloween and half the staff at the theatre I frequented did not show up. I jokingly told the Manager he should hire me, I would always show up, just so I could get to see movies for free. He offered me a job on the spot and I have been managing movie theatres for 14 years now. It is the perfect job for someone that loves movies. Can't wait to discuss movies with others here. Working with mostly teenagers, you do... Tue, 11 Aug 2009 20:54:28 EST Recent movies watched I recently watched two films.

The first one I watched was "12 Rounds" with John Cena. I don't easily dislike a movie and I can watch a movie over and over if it's really good. Movies that do disappoint me I do eventually finish but will never watch again and end up in my B list.
Tomorrow I plan on seeing Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I never read the book so it shouldn't be so bad for me but my husband read the book and I was told the movie doesn't follow th... My hubby and I see pretty much EVERY movie that has ever been released..yep, the good, the bad, and the ugly! Our son's fondest wish was to become a filmmaker one day... maybe that was because he cut his teeth on movies...I always hoped that their influence wasn't the thing that made him such a quirky kid. We always tried to cover his eyes and ears if something was inappropriate, but it may not have been the be... Tue, 21 Jul 2009 09:58:17 EST Hi I love movies - old, new, and in-between. It just depends on my mood.

One of my favorite things to do has been to go to the movies with candy and popcorn.

I watched Knowing earlier tonight, which I thought was pretty good although typical in the middle. I work for a bank so when we have those named days (bank holidays) it's nothing but movies. We have a 3 disk dvd player and I load it up, get some snacks ready and just watch movies all day. We have had a Lord of the Rings day(all extended versions) and more importantly a STAR WARS day. Usually we have to split that one into two days. (george can't ever die) 224 ... Sun, 1 Mar 2009 12:47:38 EST Has anyone ever wondered? I noticed when at the theater, that they have healthy drinks at the consession stand but they have a bunch of crap for snacks? This bothers me now that I am trying to lose weight. I am going to try to write to some of those theater companies and see if that can changed...why cant they have raisins or some dried fruit for people who want to eat healthy...just wondering. Tue, 17 Feb 2009 02:04:14 EST I am new here Hi My name is Monika, I have bipolar and typically have bad days, so for me I need stress relivers. I'll have to check that out when I get home."

I did.

I found you.

And I like you.

I hope you like me.

See you around!! WOOO!!! Sat, 17 Jan 2009 00:11:57 EST actor who has refined their craft over the years ?
My nomination is for Will Smith! I still remember his first appearances on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, he was actually MOUTHING the other actors' words so that he would know when to speak! Now he's an absolutely sensational actor.
Not to compare, but I also think that Adam Sandler has grown as an actor.
I love that he is not only good in comedies, but can do drama equally well.
Any others? Sun, 11 Jan 2009 20:17:06 EST a book that becomes a movie
I have yet to watch a movie, after reading the book, and find it even remotely as good. Have you seen a movie that you thought was even better than the book?
A close one for me was Prince of Tides. Close, but no cigar. Sun, 11 Jan 2009 19:20:45 EST Holiday movies I know the holidays are over but I was kind of curious what everyones favorite holiday movies are. We were just discussing in my house whether or not to put up the movies and decided against. Our family fave right now is Elf - I think we watched it a million times. Wed, 22 Oct 2008 09:46:33 EST A (difficult?) question.... OK. There is this movie that I watched a long time ago. it is an Oldie (no, not like Pretty woman, it is really old) about a woman that sell apples in NY and support her daughter in a private school in England (I believe). The daughter is about to get married with a rich guy and come to visit the mother. She is a nice lady and popular in the city, and try to fake she is rich (as she told her daughter in letters). it is a very nice movie that I would like to watch again. The thing is. I... Mon, 22 Sep 2008 00:36:23 EST SNL Ok, I know this is TV related and not really movie related but I am curious as to how many people saw the Saturday Night Live skit of Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. That was a riot! She really has all of Sara's looks and mannerisms downpat!

Lana Mon, 15 Sep 2008 11:10:12 EST Favorite Scenes I think I have a new favorite scene. I think everyone has at least one favorite scene from a movie. I know my husband has a few that he can do almost perfectly. I think I have discovered a new one for me. I was not expecting one from this movie, so it kind of snuck up and bit me. The movie was Sex in the City and the scene was the one where Big is trying to talk to Carrie after he doesn't show up at the wedding. It is in the middle of the street and he tries to grab her arm so h... Thu, 4 Sep 2008 12:09:47 EST Newbie On Board Hi Everyone, just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to Sparks. I am a semi retired Mom who loves movies. I love all kinds of movies and will watch almost anything once. When everything gets really overwhelming I like to escape into my favorites. I guess that is one of my coping mechanisms. Not totally healthy, but we all do what we can. Of course avoiding the popcorn is not something I am always successful at. Watching movies at home, at least I can avoid the butter on it!... Thu, 4 Sep 2008 11:51:05 EST yep, another new one Hey ya'll, love movies when we can fit them in. Mon, 14 Jul 2008 11:15:08 EST Happy Summer Blockbuster (or not?) Hi everyone,
I am new to your team, but I am an old movie buff...

How is everyone feeling about the summer "blockbusters"? So far, the only one that has delivered (for me) is Hancock. I did, unlike some others, like Indiana Jones--I thought it held true to itsself.

Thanks for having me, and I look forward to talking about the movies. I live in the desert, so movies are what we do here in the summer! Mon, 14 Jul 2008 11:06:47 EST Critique of Movies I decided to start a new forum on movies since I like to see how other people feel about a movie before I rent/buy it. Of course some of the movies I just go to the theater to see.
So if everyone could just give a short status of a movie and how they felt about it, I think this would help others to rent/buy.
