Sat, 12 Jan 2013 17:51:07 EST Passing through 130-ville Hi! I'm currently passing through 130-ville. I've been in 130-ville for a while and working hard to go back to 120-ville. I haven't seen 120-ville in about seven years and have missed being there. I'm hoping to get to know some fellow 130-ville members. Maybe we'll all end up in 120-ville together. I've come to the conclusion that I've been deluding myself all these years that calorie counting wasn't necessary. It was only not necessary when I was running three miles or more each day. I knew it could take me a month to get those pounds back off and I still would have about 10 more pounds to work off to reach my goal. ... Thu, 13 Sep 2012 22:52:26 EST Made it! Woo Hoo! It seems like these last few pounds are determined to be stubborn, but I'm made of sterner stuff!

It has been a long road to get here. I have lost 50+ pounds three times in the past, each time gaining the weight back (twice with pregnancies--I have 4 kids). Now that my youngest is 5, I don't have the "ba... The headline pretty much says it all. ...I know this is probably another workout to-good-to-be-true myth, but a part of me has always wondered if they work.

Thoughts?? Wed, 16 Feb 2011 17:19:29 EST Weekly Wednesday Challenge 2/9/11 Ok, so last week I might have gotten a little carried away with the pounds-off bad! So how about this for this week's challenge:

1) loose 0.5 pounds this week
2) get 8 glasses of water a day

How did people do with last week? Remember to post this week to this thread with updates!! Spark Goodies to people that loose that 0.5 pounds a week, but you have to post to the thread and let me know.
9 Thu, 10 Feb 2011 23:02:46 EST Weekly Wednesday Challenge 2/2 Hello 130-ville!

It's that time of week again! Thank you everyone for your feedback regarding the challenges :D If you had something to say about them, still feel free to post on this challenge thread, e-mail me, etc., because this is YOUR team and I can use all the direction I can get!! I'm also going to try and remember to e-mail the challenges out every week as another reminder, and focus more on fitness/fruit & veggie/water based goals. But like I said, if you have some feedba... Wed, 2 Feb 2011 21:39:24 EST Passing Through with a Wave and a Smile! Hello, all you beautiful Sparklers! So, after holding in the upper 130s for a week straight, I decided it was time to move on out of 140-ville and settle in here as I make my way to my goal weight of 125 lbs. I'm looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you! I'm always up for a good challenge or just a chat, and I love making new Spark Friends, so feel free to add me! Mon, 31 Jan 2011 07:38:09 EST running to loose weight? Hola-

I really love running, and while I'm no speed demon I've run three half marathons (PR of 2:14:34) and I just crave the fresh air & my shoes hitting the pavement.

I'm planning on running my 4th half in April- is anyone else into running and want to check in with each other for training? Anyone wanting to get into running? I'm not a trainer or anything but I've been running off and on for 3 years.

Just throwing it out there!
312 Sat, 29 Jan 2011 22:52:51 EST Biggest Loser So I missed the last two weeks of The Biggest Loser (I'm catching up via "On Demand" right now!) Now these trainers know how to cross train!

Does anyone else watch this show? Find it inspirational? It's on Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC- I think it might be fun to watch it when it airs and post comments to this thread about the exercises, inspirational stories of the contestants, etc.

Any takers? Sat, 29 Jan 2011 21:35:13 EST WEEKLY WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE UPDATE Hi Team!

This is Bri, your co-captain of 130-ville, and I have a question for everyone. Since November-ish, I've been posting a Weekly Wednesday Challenge, per the request of a team member. I wanted to get your feedback on what you think of them, do you have any suggestions to make them better, if you have an idea for a challenge, should we try something else, etc. Participation has waned over the last couple of weeks, so I want to make sure this is still beneficial for you/what... Sat, 29 Jan 2011 00:51:56 EST Hello! Hi everyone! I'm not new to spark but new to this group. I was doing pretty well with losing weight in 2010 (went from 145 to about 128), but toward to end of the year I starting slacking, especially around the holidays and this past month, and I'm now back up to 134 or so. The low 130's has always been a really hard plateau for me to surpass, but I definitely want to rededicate myself to leaving the 130's once and for all. I appreciate the support and knowing that you all are in the same... Go me!!

Welcome to another Weekly Wednesday Challenge, 130-ville. We've had several nutrition challenges, motivation challenges, so let's do a fitness challenge. Personally, cardio is my friend- I can do cardio for hours and hours. But the reality is we need more than that to be successful and really reap the benefits of all the work we're doing with our healthy eating habits, lifestyle changes, and of course, working out.

CHALLENGE:
<BR... Tue, 18 Jan 2011 22:20:48 EST Looking 2 Set Up Permanent Residence Here Initially my goal was 170lbs than 152lbs and now my goal is to set up permanent residence at 134-139lb range. And this morning I weighted in at 139 lbs so I thought I would make the trip to 130-ville. Thu, 13 Jan 2011 22:46:21 EST Maybe tomorrow! Hello 130s! Haven't seen you in a while. Actually I'm at 140 right now, but I have every intention of breaking into the 130s within a few days.

130s is pretty much where my body likes to hang out. Can't say for sure if I'll make it all the way out of 130-ville, but I'm sure gonna try. Nice to meet y'all. Wed, 12 Jan 2011 18:40:57 EST Good bye 130s Hey folks, a few pounds to go. I'm through with the 130s, really I am.

I'm on Weight Watchers maintenance and I gained a few pounds, now they must be vaporized, ASAP.

I wish all folks in this team a swift exit out of the land of the 130s. Thank you. Fri, 7 Jan 2011 21:24:07 EST Weekly Wednesday Challenge 1/5-1/11 Sorry I'm late with this! My days have all been screwed up this week...I actually thought today was Wednesday for the longest time. Boo.

Anyways, this week's challenge!
1) Update on your short term goals- how's it going? Any successes? Fails? Change of plans?
2) Blog ALL FOOD for three days on your spark people blog.

Have a great week! Fri, 7 Jan 2011 01:21:00 EST Just joined this team! I have been with the 120-ville team for awhile but just found this one. I reached my goal range of 125-129 about 6 months ago...even stayed at 125 until a 2-pound gain this month thanks to a move & the holidays. I hope to never see the 130's again & am ready to get back to my healthier lifestyle. Trying to add some additional motivation to help keep me on track. I love the entire Sparkpeople site. Sun, 2 Jan 2011 10:05:01 EST Hadn't seen 130's since high school! I just reached the 130's on December 20th, though I've creeped back up to 140. Not for long, though! I love the idea of "floors"! So, count me on the 10th floor...temporaily. 30 Sat, 1 Jan 2011 19:06:51 EST Weekly Wednesday Challenge: Last of 2010!! Hi 130-ville!

Sorry I went AWOL last week, but I'm back!! Gotta love the holidays :-P

So, as you probably all know, next WEEK is 2011! I know some of us had an awesome 2010 as far as weight loss is concerned, and I know some of us (like me in particular) really struggled with our weight loss goals. All too often, we set these "resolutions" this time of year that we end up either a) forgetting about 2 weeks in or b) don't accomplish because the goals are unrealistic/too e... Wed, 29 Dec 2010 12:52:24 EST 2010 reflections Hey team!

Sorry I've been MIA this last week, but I'm back!! Since 2010 is rapidly coming to a close, I thought it might be helpful to start a discussion about what we've accomplished, what is in progress, and what's on the plate for next year's goals. As I'm sure we all know weight loss can be tied to so many things in our lives- jobs, family, school, friends- and it's so helpful to not only celebrate our successes this year, but also keep thinking about what we didn't get accompl... Sun, 26 Dec 2010 20:01:21 EST hello, hello I've finally been stable enough (in my weight)to join this team. I can say with certainty I'm in the 130s. 136.8 to be exact by this mornings weigh-in. And if you do, do you love it, hate it??

I subscribe to Runner's World, and I always get excited when they come in the mail. They're great for bedtime reading, or taking on the treadmill, and since I really like to run (but sometimes need motivation when the weather is yuckie or I'm feeling lazy) it's a good motivator. I must admit I'm pretty happy to be in the 130's after weighing in at 180 something after having my last baby. Not stopping at 130's though...hopefully I'll get down to 120 something! (so I can fit my clothes I wore when I got married 5 years ago). Hopefully I can meet some friends here!

Sun, 28 Nov 2010 17:33:16 EST Weekly Wednesday Challenge 11/24-11-30 I'm a slacker, I'm sorry!! Mon, 15 Nov 2010 20:31:48 EST FINALLY! Ok, so this post isn't exactly about weight loss, but it IS about a HUGE stressor that has been taking my focus off of my goals!

I FINALLY GOT MY RESEARCH DATA!!!

For those out of the loop, I'm working on my doctorate, and doing a research project in conjunction with a Children's Hospital in Ohio. I give them my parameters, they give me a randomized data sheet (with no patient identification) with what I'm looking for. I submitted my paperwork to the IRB (people that gov... Mon, 15 Nov 2010 10:07:27 EST New team goals?? Hey 130-ville! I have a question for you.

I've been thinking about adding to/changing our team goals. But, it seems silly to do that without getting input from the team first! So, the question is:

1. Do you like the current team goals?
2. What team goals would you like to see?

Obviously if there is an overwhelming response I won't be able to include them all in our team goals, and if there is no/little response I probably won't change anything. But, this... Sun, 14 Nov 2010 16:01:48 EST Favorite exercise- GO! So, what is everyone's favorite exercise?

For me, my favorite cardio is running- three half marathons down, countless to go :D And my favorite weight lifting exercises are squats with 10 pound dumbbells in an overhead press position, and single arm rows with 15 pound dumbbells.

Fri, 12 Nov 2010 20:45:41 EST November Challenges Let's get these monthly goals going again: the weekly ones are to get us through the tough times, but we need to keep our eyes on the bigger long-term prize :)

Thanks to TrishP1961 for getting this going again!

List 3-5 goals for the month of November that you want to get done be the end of the month. They can be anything- a weight loss goal, nutritional goal, motivational goal. Whatever you'd like.

Happy November! Thu, 11 Nov 2010 19:54:29 EST Introducing: Weekly Wednesday Challenge! 11/11-16 Hi everyone!

At the suggestion of AtlantaRunner, I am starting a weekly challenge, that will start on Wednesday. Thus, the Weekly Wednesday Challenge! And yes, I know it's now Thursday, but I was excited about this idea and didn't want to wait until next week. That, and Weekly Wednesday is just fun to say :)

So, here's this week's challenge: The idea came to me earlier this week, as I was cruising the posts and thread in the general discussion section re: how many people... Thu, 11 Nov 2010 19:46:33 EST November Goals 1. Get out of 130-ville...I am at 132 so that is SO doable!
2. Do yoga routine every evening.
3. Cardio and strength training at the club at least two days a week.
4. Drink the water!!!!
5. Buy tea to drink when I am cold instead of drinking the hot chocolate. Thu, 11 Nov 2010 14:54:16 EST portion control So I just read this great article on portion size- here's the link

ition_articles.asp?id=177

But it's called The Portion Distortion Guide, and it's from the spark (so under healthy lifestyle, nutrition). I had read something on portion control/appropriate sizes but sometimes I just need a refresher :D

Hope everyone is making their way out of 130-ville!! Sun, 7 Nov 2010 10:50:29 EST How often are you working out? Hey fellow 130-ers!

How often are people working out here? I've been going 3 times a week, but I'm not seeing the results that I did when I was going 6 times a week. Admittedly my food intake is better this time around and my workouts I believe have been more is it intensity or frequency, or a combination of both?

And I'm just curious :D Sat, 6 Nov 2010 19:59:06 EST Really happy to join this team! So happy to be here! I haven't been in 130-ville my entire life! I still have not decided whether I will be living here forever or leaving eventually. I'm thinking that a better goal weight for me would be about 125 instead of 130. I'd love any extra help I can get to lose these last lbs!! Thu, 21 Oct 2010 19:10:14 EST October Goals How close to the exit do you want to get in October?

I want to leave the 130s by Thanksgiving and maintain in the 125-129 range through Christmas. Then I'll decide if I'd like to exit the 120s or continue to maintain.

Thu, 30 Sep 2010 19:32:20 EST Almost In 130's!!! Hey everyone! I am so excited that I am almost in the 130's!! I am still trying to work off the baby weight from baby #5. I am not tall, so I really feel my best in the 120's.

I am looking forward to working torwards that goal with you! Wed, 29 Sep 2010 14:06:56 EST New School Year...New Resolution I know a lot of people make a New Year's resolution. Since I teach, I always think of the new school year as a time to set some goals and work to achieve them. My goal for the upcoming school year 2010-2011, is to finally leave the 130s. I would like to be comfortably in the 120s so I don't have to worry about coming back. To reach that goal, I plan on doing cardio an average of 30 minutes daily. So if I don't get there one day, I'll need to do 60 minutes the next day. Wed, 8 Sep 2010 11:06:49 EST Best Life Diet Anyone heard about it or tried it? I am thinking about looking into it. Would love feedback from others that have already tried it. Sun, 29 Aug 2010 13:54:35 EST Water Just read an article that you should take your weight, divide it by two and that is how many ounces of water you should be drinking each day...I was quite proud that I was drinking 40 oz a day. I should be drinking 67 ounces. I am going to increase my water and see what happens.
Curious as to how much everyone else is drinking in proportion to their weight...I got this information off a website, not I am not sure it is correct. Fri, 27 Aug 2010 11:44:03 EST Back In the 130s, Back On Spark Hi everyone!

I'm 27, from the UK and I'm back on Spark People after a bit of an absence that saw me gain a lot of weight back.

My lowest weight was 119lbs; I was happy, pretty fit and eating very well but I was starting to get obsessive and once I stopped being able to control every aspect of my life (new job, new relationship, new place etc.), I lost a lot of the habits that had been keeping me at that weight.

In the last six months I've been packing on the w... Sat, 21 Aug 2010 13:42:18 EST How many are here? Just curious how many people are active on this site...I have been on here for a few days and have only read posts from 3 other people :( Tue, 17 Aug 2010 10:35:36 EST Feeling Nervous About This I just joined the team, but what I wake up from this dream? Could I really be in the 130's?! I weighed in last week at 138.8, then 139.1 this week and 136.8 this morning (post run = mostly water loss). Just the fact that there is a 3 in the tens places blows my mind!!!

Anyway, I am glad to finally be here and I am ready to work hard to leave here too =). Mon, 19 Jul 2010 16:13:45 EST Woo! Right now I weigh 139.6 lbs and I have a goal weight of 135 by the end of summer. At the moment I have a end goal weight of 130 lbs. I can't wait to start seeing the scale get lower & lower!! I know there hasn't been one in a while but I thought it might be a nice way to try to get some activity going on here.

All I really am asking is for people to pick a goal to work on this month. It could be a weight loss goal, a nutritional goal, a body fat goal, an exercise goal, etc. Just post what you want to work toward this month and... Sun, 4 Jul 2010 03:31:16 EST Summer is here! Looking forward to continuing my progress and getting to the lower end of the 130's, though! 244 Fri, 4 Jun 2010 18:30:50 EST Glad to be here! I made it to 139 on April 31st and made it my goal to maintain throughout May. Now that I've gotten through the month and am solidly into the 130s, I've decided I'm ready to join the team and actually start trying to actively make my way down the 130s!

I have a feeling it will take me awhile to make it down to 130, and I don't really know how much farther I need or want to go, but 130 is the goal for now! Wed, 2 Jun 2010 21:24:55 EST Body fat testing I was wondering if anyone has ever had some sort of body fat or muscle mass testing done before? This is something I have wanted to do for a while now. I have heard of hydrostatic weighing being very effective, as well as having a trainer use calipers, etc... do you like being measured in this way? Is it effective for helping you reach your goals? I think my main issue is that I am in a normal weight range even if I would like to be less, and I'd really like to know that my body fat is in a h... Wed, 26 May 2010 08:59:28 EST Free at last! Today was my weigh in today, my first after my Disney vacation. I was 132.1 before I left, just at the top of the normal range. I am sure it will feel even better to leave. :OP Mon, 3 May 2010 10:37:53 EST hi all! hello, I'm new here and have been trying to get into the 130s for what seems like forever. things seem to be happening! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and being a part of the community of support. drop in and say hello!

take care! Thu, 22 Apr 2010 11:12:31 EST Stuck in 130 ville I have hovered around 135 pretty much since I was in high school. I always wanted to lose weight but I went about it in the wrong ways and it never really worked. I gained a ton of weight in college and now I'm just pounds away from where I used to be. I'm hoping that this time I can actually get out of 130-ville for good! Wed, 21 Apr 2010 23:47:02 EST This is where I belong! I have been in the 130s most of my life, but I always wanted to be in the 120s. I hope to go live in 120ville for good. But I am most comfortable in this city as I have lived here most of it my life. I moved to other cities after I had my children, and I am glad to leave! I am back home! Mon, 19 Apr 2010 10:08:29 EST shin splints I started a new exercise routine after spring break ended and now, about a week in i started experiencing pain in the front of my lower legs (which i'm assuming are shin splints), I tried to research this but couldn't find a clear answer, is it okay to continue running on the treadmill (i think that's what it's coming from) while i still feel dull pain in my legs? can it cause actual damage? Tue, 13 Apr 2010 10:57:07 EST New to the team I just got out of 140-ville a few weeks ago and thought I should join this team now.

My goal is to get down to 130 or maybe even 125 eventually. I think I will be in the 130's for awhile.
Mon, 12 Apr 2010 16:20:50 EST Beep beep, coming through. Hello, I just joined 130-ville today (although I'm not completely sure if I should trust it - my scale's been kinda wacky the past couple of days. I'll take it though). Hopefully I won't be here too long, but I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you. :) Sun, 28 Mar 2010 08:58:12 EST Just moved to 130-ville Hi neighbors-

Just moved to 130-ville from 140-ville, and boy is it nice to be here! Is any one else new to town?
Tue, 16 Mar 2010 22:19:09 EST 30 Day Shred Hi everyone-

is anyone else using the 20 Day Shred by Jillian Michael's? I'm loving it and I feel like it's pulled me out of the weight-loss plateau I've been in since mid-December. So I was just wondering if anyone else has had any results, good or bad. Tue, 16 Mar 2010 22:13:51 EST When am I leaving this team? I've been with this team for a little over a year now. It's been great getting acquainted with so many SP members. However, it's time to push myself to move on.

I am challenging myself to move out of 130-ville by the end of April. I have various challenges with other teams that will keep me on track with calories and exercise. This will simply be a weekly report of how close I am getting to moving out.

Because of traveling for the past couple of weeks my weight ha... Tue, 2 Mar 2010 11:45:40 EST Been at this for awhile I'm stuck right at the top of 130'ville. Since September I've been 139-141. After Christmas I was 144. Today I'm back at 139.8. Just barely in 130'ville. Hoping that joining the team can keep me focused on travelling to 120'ville. Wed, 24 Feb 2010 18:12:16 EST Leaving 120-ville??? Hi all! In today's weigh in I should have officially been able to go ahead to some sort of leaving 120-ville group, but i can't seem to find one. Does one exist? It seems I might be sticking around here for a while... :) Tue, 23 Feb 2010 10:05:51 EST Wish I new about this place sooner! I started spark a month ago. I went from 143 to 132.1. Hopefully I won't be here long! I've weighed in the 130's ever since I've stopped growing until I recently rose to the 140s. Yikes! But Leaving 130-ville is a huge step for me since it makes me the smallest I've ever been. I guess 130-ville has been my permanent residence but I'm ready for a change of scene. lol Sun, 21 Feb 2010 17:35:25 EST New Hello!

I have been stuck at 130 for awhile now, and am working at jump starting my weight loss again. So maybe I will only be a member of leaving 130 ville for a little while 20 Fri, 12 Feb 2010 00:10:26 EST I may be a member of 130-ville for a while :( I am very excited to be joining this team since it took a while to get past 140, but now I am struggling with getting past 139!! I have a feeling I am going to with this team for a while. I have been sitting at the same weight now (fluctuating between 137-139) for a few months. This has been extremely frustrating. I started doing P90X cause I needed to incorporate weight training, so this may not help with the weight loss lol.

I have been with SP for about 2 years or so now, I dro... Thu, 11 Feb 2010 09:16:03 EST Room for another newbie?:) Hello everyone,

I'm not new to Sparks; I joined last summer and did really well. I dropped some weight and loved the way I looked. Unfortunately, when my husband got sick, I stopped putting myself first and neglected working out. He recently passed, and with that, I promised myself to take really good care of myself. My first goal is to lose 5 lbs so I can reward myself with a hair cut and a new style:)

I love blogging and try to do it every day. On top of that, I'm als... Wed, 10 Feb 2010 01:12:20 EST Just joined, but hope to be moving along.... After about a month of eating whatever I wanted, I decided to finally restart my diet and exercise schedule. I weighed myself and am at 131.5 - which thankfully isn't the most I've been at. Hopefully I'll be moving into the twenties in the near future... :) Until then, I'm very excited to be a part of this team! Tue, 9 Feb 2010 22:52:03 EST February Challenge This month I'm going to try to be more involved with this challenge and post daily tasks/challenges. Also, if you want to do a layout the way I am going to do mine, feel free! Example:

I plan to weigh in on mostly Mondays

2/1 - starting 136.5
2/8
2/15
2/22
2/28 - final weight in Feb

And then you can also update when you accomplish any of the tasks. If you miss any, that's okay. This isn't anything I am going to keep track of, just something... Mon, 1 Feb 2010 17:44:22 EST Hello 130-ville! Hi everyone! I crossed the border a couple days ago but waited for my official weigh-in day to join the team.
So as of today I'm at 138lbs and am really excited to join this team :)
Hope everyone has a great day!
Bilitis Sun, 31 Jan 2010 05:22:41 EST Breakfast foods/meals Just curious what the people of 130ville like to eat for breakfast! I usually eat similar things most days and it's fine with me, but sometimes I like to mix it up and new ideas could be nice to know of.

I often eat a bowl of Fiber One cereal. I really like the honey clusters as well as the caramel crunch. I try to eat a banana or apple or other fruit with it too. Otherwise, I eat a lot of oatmeal. I prefer the high fiber cinnamon swirl (10g of fiber).

What do other peop... Sun, 24 Jan 2010 16:59:13 EST New and excited Hey all I am new to these parts but have been here (in the 30s) before. Its been about 3-4 years since Ive seen 130 so the day I stepped on the scale I was extremely excited. I am currently tracking my food and working out with Chalean Extreme daily. I am in my last phase and have two wks left. Its an amazing program if you like a challenge a like to work out at home. I just wanted to introduce myself. As I get closer to my goal (135) Im thinking I might change it to 130. That is a stretch fo... Thu, 21 Jan 2010 22:02:10 EST Hi! This team is SO me. I have visited 120s briefly but always seem to go crawling back to the 130s in short order. I need to push on through to the other side!

I've been on sparkpeople for a couple weeks. Not looking for a fast fix -- just making changes and aiming for June goal weight.
Sat, 16 Jan 2010 11:05:39 EST Still not there... I'm so upset. I haven't been on this site for weeks, but I want to lose weight. I can't really follow the meal plans on this site though since I live with my parents and can't really have "my" foods and the "family's" foods you know? I did get a diet pill with green tea in it, but now I'm regretting it. I have taken it before though and lost weight on it.

I just need help. I am overweight for my height (4'10) and need to lose some weight. I drink water constantly. Wed, 13 Jan 2010 23:49:13 EST Just flew in today! Hey y'all!
I weighed myself this morning, and after nearly a years slow and steady (and slooooow) work I have finally lost 7 pounds and made it down to 139.8 pounds! I'm joining today so that I don't get off track and end up back in Leaving 140-ville. I'm so happy to finally be here, I haven't weighed 130-something since high school (3 and a half long years ago) and it feels great to be getting close to what I used to look and feel like. Just wanted to say hey!
I'm 21, a senior in ... Sun, 10 Jan 2010 18:27:04 EST New to the team! Hi, I'm a 22 year old mother of one and an Army wife and I've managed to lose every bit of my baby weight plus 10 pounds in the last 15 months. Yay!! So at this point I'm working at getting my body into the best shape possible. I'm 5'5" and my body frame isn't the smallest, so I'm not sure how much lower in weight I'll get, but I usually stay at about 132. Right now I'm at 129 because I was very sick this weekend. My goal weight is about 125.
I'd love to get to know some others who are ... Mon, 4 Jan 2010 15:10:00 EST January challenge Everyone did awesome with working toward their goals in December, so let's continue into January and start the year off right! List your goals and track them how you want.

I might try to add in some additional little challenges if I can.. but haven't had a chance to really think of anything that structured. Anyone else can feel free to pose some challenges as well, as we go along! Fri, 1 Jan 2010 14:37:39 EST 2010 Resolutions? Anyone else have resolutions?

I only have 2, 2 real ones, 2 that I intend to follow through & not forget I'm making like all the other years.

1. Make goal weight. I'm about 10 lbs away, so no excuse not to follow through in 2010.

2. Find job. I didn't work in 2009, nothing! Here's to hoping 2010 will be better in this area! Tue, 29 Dec 2009 16:34:40 EST Hi I'm new here. I just found this team! I REALLY want to 130ville!!!! I get as low as 127 but only for a moment and it's really frustrating! I always find myself back at or usually over 130. Anyone have any tips? Sun, 27 Dec 2009 23:05:31 EST New here :) Hey everyone, I've finally left 140-ville after a very, very long journey. I've officially lost 26 lbs, and I'm thrilled about it. My initial goal was to reach 140 lbs and as of yesterday, I reached it. I'm going to see if I can get down to 135 lbs, but if not, I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm 5'6" and fairly muscular, so at this point, I'm mostly looking to tone up my arms and make myself get back to my strength training.

Anyway, I look forward to meeting you all! Mon, 7 Dec 2009 03:33:33 EST Book suggestions? I enjoy reading and I'm always interested to hear about good books that have to do with fitness and/or nutrition or health in general. Feel free to share your favorites and discuss what you like about them.

I recently got the Beck Diet Solution by Judith S. Beck, which basically uses cognitive therapy techniques to help dieters succeed. I haven't read too much yet but it is quite interesting. It's not a diet in itself, but it gives good tips for helping you to do well on whatever d... Thu, 3 Dec 2009 10:05:56 EST Running/jogging Who likes to run or jog for exercise? Discuss! I am more of a beginner.. I have done the couch to 5k program (

ml
) in the past and it worked well, but once I stopped running of course it got really difficult to try and just start up again.

So I think I will give the couch to 5k another try and this time hope to keep up with running afterwards. I would like to eventually participate in an actual 5k race or something and maybe... Thu, 3 Dec 2009 10:01:30 EST New leader Hey everyone, I just wanted to do a quick update letting you know that I recently became the leader of this team, since the other leader had been inactive SP was able to make the change or however that works.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or whatnot for the team? I know it could probably be a bit more active than it is, considering we have close to 300 members! Feel free to share ideas. I did try to get a more laid back challenge going to motivate us and maybe in th... Thu, 3 Dec 2009 09:45:13 EST I made it back! Whew! I am back, barely, but I am back. Official weigh in this morning at 139.8. Now I need to make it stable. Really excited, I had to reweigh three times. Wed, 2 Dec 2009 21:35:38 EST December challenge How much weight do you want to lose before 2010? Come up with an achievable goal to work toward between now and December 31 and list it here - whether it is a loss of pounds, inches, reaching a smaller clothes size, whatever! Write it down and let us hold you accountable.

You can also track your calorie range and workout plans and how you do with reaching those goals each day.

Let's support one another and reach toward our goal of leaving town or maintaining here! Mon, 30 Nov 2009 00:45:50 EST Hello, Just got here. Hello,

I'm 47 years young. And I'm soooo happy to be here. 224
I've been a member of Sparkpeople since February 2009.
I hope to make the 130's my permanent residence.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. 30 Sun, 29 Nov 2009 20:09:05 EST Happy Thanksgiving - moving in today! Hey everyone, I was excited to weigh in today and find that I weighed 139.8, which I wasn't expecting! My goal for the week was 140 and I wasn't even thinking I'd see that. So yay! I am moving in to town and hopefully staying here this time!
9 Thu, 26 Nov 2009 10:42:09 EST Finally here!!! Hello I finally moved in!!
I've been here on SP for almost 4 months, started in 170 ville & finally I'm here! Looking forward to it!! :o) Tue, 24 Nov 2009 15:50:20 EST Pleased to finally arrive in this lovely town! Hey Gang --

130-ville is likely my permanent home too. My goal weight is 130 pounds, but according to the BMI I will not be "normal" weight until I reach 127 pounds. This seems really low to me since I am already in pretty slim sized jeans, but we will see how I look and feel when I get close to the 130 mark as to whether I want to continue beyond that.

Thanks for inviting me into your lovely town.

-- Hilary

Mon, 16 Nov 2009 12:30:49 EST new here Hi all,
I am not new to spark but I loved the name of this team since it seems I've "played" on it for a long time.
To make a long story short, I have lost over 35 pounds in the last two years but more importantly am hooked on weight training and getting toned. Intitially worked with a trainer and still do every couple weeks but am still amazed at how somebody my age can actually have so much muscle and feel fabulous.
BUT...about 6 months ago I started back smoking after years ... Sun, 15 Nov 2009 08:10:51 EST 130-ville, I made it! Hello everyone. I'm in my high 130's and hoping to make it to 130 by February then maintain.

I've discovered a love of running recently and with my new healthy lifestyle, strength training and pilates; I hope to get there soon. Fri, 13 Nov 2009 15:04:48 EST Your prayers needed and very appreciated! My heart is heavy with concerns for two friends of mine.

First, a young man who graduated from HS three years ago is very sick. He was diagnosed with the H1N1 and is fighting very serious pneumonia. He has been in the hospital for about a week and at times very close to death. Please pray for him and his family. They live two hours away from the hospital to which he was life-flighted, which adds to the strain. His name is Chris.

Second, a young lady who is expecting th... Thu, 29 Oct 2009 17:03:53 EST nov challenge is there going to be one Tue, 27 Oct 2009 00:45:28 EST 30 Days Challenge (October) Alright ladies! Let's refocus for October. Tomorrow is the first of the month and I'd like to be officially out of the 130s by the end of this month. I'm hovering around 134 now and I'd like to make a big push instead of being in a plateau for another month. Who's with me? Weekly weigh-ins and sharing what meal's we're having? If we get enough people checking the boards and posting, it can be really motivating :) Wed, 30 Sep 2009 23:55:30 EST I am now in my permanent home!! I attended the Spark convention this weekend and I am so fired up from that alone. When I stepped on the scale this morning...DOUBLE JOY!!! I am here to stay as this is my new PERMANENT home!!!! Mon, 28 Sep 2009 09:17:56 EST Anyone up their calories to lose weight? I have never been able to get below 135 pounds unless it was low carb but I would immediately jump back up to 135 after I starting eating carbs again. I have tried 1200 calorie a day diets and they don't work. This week I have started tracking my calories closer to 1700 calories a day. Anyone have any luck at this calorie range? Fri, 25 Sep 2009 13:05:31 EST Anyone else stuck in a rut? I've lost a little over 20 pounds since starting Spark People on New News Day but I feel like I'm stuck in a rut lately. I crossed 140 but I can't get down past 136. I'm ready to reach that next milestone and get under 130. Anyone else want to recommit, motivate each other, keep tabs on our succes and really try to get out of 130-ville with me? We can come up with a plan: posting meals, workouts and weekly weigh-ins. It's so hard for me to lose weight now that I'm at my ideal weight but I sti... Thu, 17 Sep 2009 12:09:17 EST New Co-Team Leader Sorry, I've been really busy and havent had a chance to introduce myself.
My name is Chrissy and I am working to shed these pounds I have put back on. If you need anything just send me a message and I will try to help.
I will try to post here atleast 3 times a week! Tue, 25 Aug 2009 20:50:19 EST wedding weight Hi residents (temporary residents) of 130ville!
As my name implies I am attempting to return to the weight I was on my wedding day, which was 128. I have spent so many years, like 20yrs, in 140ville, that I chose a goal of 130 because 128 sounded too far away. My weight is coming off v-e-r-y slowly, but I am feeling confident that it will keep coming if I continue to focus on healthy lifestyle (vs diet mentality). I am eating healthier than ever. I have physical limitations, so do not do... Sun, 23 Aug 2009 11:10:43 EST How to start weight loss again? I've been in the 130s for over a year. . . its great that I have maintained, but I am really wanting to start losing again. I hate listening to whining about weight loss, because I know the formula is really simple and honest. . . I have to create a calorie deficit. But here I am whining. How do I get started on the downward slope again?

Fri, 14 Aug 2009 17:19:54 EST I'm leaving I joined this group when I was right on the 130 mark. I couldn't get off of it. Now I am lower than 130. So I will hopefully see you all on the other side :) Sun, 26 Jul 2009 16:31:15 EST 30 Days to Get Out of the 130s- August I'm back and determined to get out of the 130s for good this month. Who's with me? We can weigh in every week and keep track of workouts, ups, downs and victory! Sat, 25 Jul 2009 22:49:46 EST Running a 5K Howdy, all my wonderful friends. It's good to come back to SP. I missed having a connection with everyone here.

I'm currently training for a 5K run on August 1. It's the Thunder Run in Lincoln. Anyone else going out for this run? I know several of you have been doing some runs. Can anyone give me some tips to lower my time? I'm just under an 11 minute mile and would like to get under a 10 minute mile. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Again - it's so great to be b... Wed, 1 Jul 2009 00:42:12 EST Right on the edge. I go from 129-130 fluctuating everyday. I need help to get down to my goal. My starting weight was 160 starting back in 2007. I've been battling my weight since I was 16 or 17. How can I lose weight? I'm trying this diet. Thank you. LOL.
hope everyone has a beautiful day!! Fri, 19 Jun 2009 08:04:58 EST New here Hi there,

I finally broke through 140 a couple of weeks ago. After being in the 140's for over 2 years (minus a short term dip) since my baby was born. I hope I'm finally out of there and looking to just be visiting 130-ville on my way to 120-ville. Sat, 13 Jun 2009 20:53:56 EST So long folks! Reached 127.5 this week (to my great surprise!) so bags are packed and I'm outta here on the double! NO looking back! Longing to see you all in 120-Ville though (at any rate those who want to move home!) Thank you SP for making this possible! 213
Keep up the good work and you'll be right behind me! 244 Fri, 5 Jun 2009 13:16:55 EST Taking a Spark Break Summer is definitely here and we are finally enjoying gorgeous weather! The month of June has us doing some traveling and only home a total of 10 days. Since we will be gone so much of the time, I am taking a Spark break until July. I will continue to journal what I eat and get plenty of exercise; I just won’t be at the computer much to track like I usually do.

Pertaining to exercise, I just started the 30 day shred about 2 weeks ago. I have really enjoyed the challenge and fe... Mon, 1 Jun 2009 13:03:41 EST 30 Days to Get out of the 130s I would love to get out of 130-ville by the end of June so I'm starting a personal challenge to lose these 7-8 pounds in the next 30 days. As I get smaller, it seems like it's harder and harder to lose those pounds so I think 30 days is absolutely possible, realistic and healthy.

I know it's a holiday weekend so how about we start Tuesday May 26th? That means we have until June 26th to get out of 130-ville! We can do it!

Who's with me? Post as often as you want to updat... Sat, 23 May 2009 22:25:28 EST New to team, not to SP Hello everyone:
I'm new to this team, but have been on SP for a long time--nearly two years. I am so glad to qualify for this team (barely!). I haven't seen the 130s since early 2000 (and I was newly pregnant).

This looks like a fairly young team and I look forward to be inspired by your many successes.

Good luck to all. Sat, 23 May 2009 15:59:28 EST hello, new here! hello everyone,
I'm new here and have a really bad habit. I graze while preparing food which means I end up over-eating. Hiya!

Started spark people on January 1st in 150-ville (158 pounds!) and now I'm glad to say I've finally made it to 130-ville. I hit a fierce plateau in the mid-140s and was getting frustrated but I'm glad I held on. I ran a 10K a few weeks ago and have another 10K on June 27th. My long term goal is to train for another marathon in early December this year. The last time I was in the 130s I stopped at 135 and gained all the weight back. I'm determined to break 130 this time and ev... Sun, 17 May 2009 18:23:24 EST Facebook - be aware of this! I don't believe what just happened. Sat, 2 May 2009 18:24:48 EST Quick Question. I have heard (and it makes sense to me) that going over just one day can really ruin your diet. But how much is actually going over? Eating the recommended 2000 or calories or even going 3000?
I hope that makes sense.

Thanks,
Holly Fri, 1 May 2009 18:16:33 EST May Challenge? Now that I'm a mom exercising = me time! Yahoo! This week is a monumental week for me. Not only am I moving into 130-ville; but also, I'm on my first week of couch to 5K training. Tue, 10 Mar 2009 21:47:09 EST Fell off the Exercise Wagon for a couple days Two days ago I walked up to the community playground with my girls and the neighbor kids. But, on the way back my 4 year old's bike go kind of out of control and I started chasing her down the hill...Yesterday and today I've had a good case of shin splints! It hurts to walk, climb stairs, press the gas peddle in the hoo me.

I had to go get a criminal background check and fingerprinting done for school, so I walked around the square by the courthouse this morning until t... Tue, 10 Mar 2009 12:56:01 EST Hello 130's....well almost OK, my scale has said 140.x all week. Yesterday it was 140 on the dot. I just started a new job, and while it's only part-time, it has kept me a lot busier than I'd expected. I haven't been on SparkPeople like I wanted! But now I'm settled into my new routine, and I'm back! As always, if you have any challenge ideas, let me know and I'll get them up!
Fri, 27 Feb 2009 09:53:28 EST New to team Hi everyone happy to finally be here, I have been with apark people since mid-December. Hoping not to be here to long as I try to reach my goals. Look forward to getting to know one and all. I am 31 and trying to get fit and trim so that I will no longer be in the obese part of the BMR charts. I also want to set a good example for my child. Fri, 13 Feb 2009 22:35:17 EST Leaving, "Leaving 130-ville" Well, it's time to say goodbye. Not because I've actually left the 130's, but because I've changed my goals. For a long time I was shooting for 125, but have discovered that that's unrealistic and not really a good look for me. I intend to maintain in 130-ville, not leave it. So goodbye! Best of luck with your weight loss goals! Tue, 10 Feb 2009 09:59:48 EST A helloooo from a new member Hey everyone =] So I'm here in 130-ville hoping to make my way to the border of 110 and 120 ville. I've been here for a while and find it next to impossible to leave =[ . I've decided to take drastic measure (well...not that drastic in my book =D ) and will give myself a belly button tattoo if i reach my goal weight. I've always wanted one but was afraid i would be annihilated if my parents ever found out. However, in this case, i think it's for a good cause lol. Fri, 23 Jan 2009 03:07:45 EST Yay!! I finally made it in! I'm SO excited to have crossed over to 130ville... I dunno how long my stay will be, but I hope it won't be THAT long. lol. Tue, 20 Jan 2009 08:34:20 EST Hi from Florida Hi,
I'm currently in the mid-130's and want to get back to my "comfortable" weight of around 115. I've gained almost 20 pounds in the last year and a half since I got married. My husband says I don't need to lose any weight, but I feel horrible and frumpy at this weight. My ex-husband used to tell me he wouldn't love me anymore if I ever got over 130 - no wonder he's an ex, huh?! Anyway, I want to get out of this funk, quit stressing over what the scale says and start doing what I need t... Sun, 11 Jan 2009 12:39:16 EST Water I looked through my nutrition tracker to try and see what happened that resulting in the weight gain the second week of vacation. I started swimming 30-60 minutes a day and I stopped drinking 10 glasses of water a day...
Could drinking only 8 glasses after adding swimming be the reason for weight gain? I know muscle weighs more than fat...still that is no reason to skip cardio
If not, ideas on what I could do differently would be deeply appreciated. Sat, 10 Jan 2009 08:27:28 EST OMG!!!!! !!!!!!!! It has taken me so long!! This morning when I got on the scale I was 130.2. Not to be gross but after doing some house work and finally going to the bathroom (I hadn't in a few days) I decided to get back on the scale before my shower.

129.6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy. I wanted to go into the new year in the 120's so badly!!!

I DID IT!!!!

Hooray! It's going to be a great year! Wed, 31 Dec 2008 14:49:12 EST 30 Days FREE at Bally Total Fitness! Sat, 20 Dec 2008 11:54:46 EST Back in 130-ville, haven't been here for years! Hi everyone. I'm just moving into 130-ville. It's still a little hard to believe I'm actually here. I've been close several times within the last month. It's good to see some familiar faces from living in 140-ville for several months. My goal is to move out by the end of February '09 and establish a maintenance weight of 125-127 during March. Mon, 15 Dec 2008 18:09:55 EST New Nutrition Tracker Feature If you use the tracker, you've probably already noticed this, but I thought it was kind of cool.
The nutrition tracker now totals up every meal for you, and it also keeps track of how many calories, etc., you have left for the day. Just something to check out :) Mon, 15 Dec 2008 14:08:29 EST December Challenge SlwlyGoinInsane suggested this challenge, I think it's a good time to get used to it, then we can really do it for real in January. I know a lot of other teams do something similar to this, so it may be something you're already participating in.
Everyday (or as close to it as you can), post in this forum. The format that will probably works best is:
DATE: XX
Cardio Minutes: XX/Total for Month
Crunches: XX/Total for Month
Push-Ups:XX/Total for Month
Water:XX cups ... Sun, 14 Dec 2008 20:51:07 EST Team Challenge Hi Team!
I was recently made a team leader, and I'd like to see this team get a little bit more active!
One thing I'd like to do is get a team goal or two going. They can be nutrition related (like eating vegetables, drinking water, etc.), exercise related, or something completely different. I'd like some input - if you have any ideas, let me know!
Wed, 10 Dec 2008 13:59:44 EST New to 130-ville and hope to be leaving soon! Hey everyone, as of this morning I've moved in. Hoping to be out soon!!! Wed, 10 Dec 2008 13:11:01 EST finding my way out Hello all! I've been wondering around the 130's for the past year. I've tried diets that were too strict followed by servings of chocolate that were too large. 2

I think I've finally found a diet and exercise program that will work for me. If all goes well, I shall leave the 130's by the end of January.

(BTW, my weigh-in last Saturday was 139.5, but for some reason my weight tracker rounded up. So don't kick me out! 20 ) Thu, 4 Dec 2008 12:16:49 EST Hi All! Hopefully I won't be here for too long - last spring before my wedding, I hit my peak weight of 144. I started running (but still ate crap, and lots of it), and got back to 135-137 (my normal weight since my freshman year of college) by September. After my half-marathon October 19, I decided it was time to start eating right, exercising more, and drop back under 130 for the first time since my junior year of high school. I'm currently taking a spinning class 2-3 mornings a week, using the ell... Fri, 21 Nov 2008 14:51:37 EST Reach 129-130 lbs. by December 31, 2008! This team isn't too active with the challenges and I find that challenges really help me so I thought I'd try to start a new one.

It is my personal goal to reach at least 130 before the new year. I've been trying to get there since about May. I'm thinking with some fellow people also in their 130s, I might get some good support here.

At about 139.5 lbs. right now, if I lose 1.5 lbs. a week I can reach 130 by December 31. Many of you are much closer to the low end of the... Mon, 17 Nov 2008 10:18:12 EST I'm ready to commit! Hey there,
I'm Ruby and I'm a repetitive 130-viller! I always go waaaay back up to the higher 140's and then decide to start working again and get down to the 130s. Then I get sloppy and figure 'ahh this is good enough, I don't need to lose more' and then eat myself back up again.

NO MORE I say! This time I will not flake out when the numbers start dropping into the lower 130s. I'm working with a PT and keep a focus on healthy food (without too much deprivation: 1450-1800 is ... Fri, 14 Nov 2008 09:14:49 EST Hi all!! :) Just "moved in" :) Hey everyone! Fri, 19 Sep 2008 08:40:31 EST September 17 Good Morning All ! My weight is down another 1/2 lb but the Body fat is up. I'm still not well enough to feel like I can eat a lot without it going straight through me which could be a good thing or a bad thing. We'll see how it all balances out in a couple of days before I believe that I'm nearer the 120 side rather than the 140. DH goes in for surgery today on his shoulder. I did the same surgery last year so I feel badly for him. Have a great day ! My initial goal is to reach 130 pounds. Ideally I think I want to be at 125 to 130. About 8 years ago I was around 120 pounds...but I was exercising 4 hours a day...was in a bad relationship so I dealt by working out to an extreme. Before that I was normally around 125.

Up until recently I was doing a lot of tae bo and the FIRM workouts...but then I got sick and I have slacked on my work... Tue, 13 May 2008 08:15:32 EST So... Close... HEY!

I have been in the 130s since I made my first "big lose" in weight. Wed, 16 Apr 2008 18:34:08 EST Hi, I'm new I was about 135 lbs when I joined SP back in January (I since created a new account)... didn't join this team because I thought I'd be out of the 130's soon, but it's taking a little longer than I thought. I'm at 132.5 now, so hopefully it'll be a very short stay here. I joined just to give me the added motivation of being able to leave :) Wed, 16 Apr 2008 09:11:28 EST New in town! Just moved in from 140-ville! I've been dropping weight fast (getting back on a regular running schedule after several years of only intermittent running will do that to you), but I know that's going to stop when I get down around 135, so I know there are going to be days I'm going to need LOTS of motivation to keep pushing for 120-ville. And that's why I'm here! Fri, 11 Apr 2008 14:37:08 EST I made it!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy! Well, I made it to my (most likely semi-permenent home!) I have a little itch to try to make it to 128, but that will take a long while I just know it! You know 129 is too much of a limbo to have that my goal weight. I will soon muster up the courage to change my goal. For now I will settle for 135! I am sooooo excited to be here! Fri, 11 Apr 2008 01:04:25 EST new Im so just droped down too 129...I really don't want to go back too the 30's..I started sparks for the second time in Novembe 2007..First time didnt stick..This time it is going too...Want that hot body for ever....I want too see where this really takes me if I stick with it....I so can see things changing, husband started it last month...He is shocked at how it works...I told him about it all along, but if someone doesnt want too do it wont work for them....He sees it different now...He is l...
