SparkPeople SP Class of February 4-10, 2007 Team Messageboard This team is for all new members who joined SparkPeople from Feb 4-10, 2007. Welcome! SparkPeople SP Class of February 4-10, 2007 Team Messageboard What's happening It is interesting how far I've come so far. I've been thinking about where I am now and where I was when I started.

Now I have a new knee replacement and I have been working on getting more active. I am motivated to be healthy.

Seven years ago, I was lethargic and always tired. I was in constant pain and weighed over 275 pounds.

How about you? Tue, 8 Apr 2014 12:46:51 EST It will be five years in February. I weigh less than I did 5 years ago. I was down 75 pounds from my highest weight, now I am down 60 pounds from my highest weight. I still have 50 more to go. Sun, 23 Dec 2012 21:59:16 EST Is Anybody Out There??? I have been off the grid for a while now. I have also been a member of SP for a while. Here I am yet again fighting the same battle. Anyone else out there like me?? Let's get this team up and moving again. Let's get us up and moving!! Anyone?? 15 Fri, 1 Jun 2012 07:46:08 EST Back To SparkPeople Hi, My name is Beth, I joined SparkPeople back in 2007 and we've have had an on and mostly off relationship. I'm 29 will be 30 in March and found myself 20 pounds over the weight I want to be. It just got away from me. I got married and happy. I was still fitting into my jeans somehow so I was ok right? NO!!! It was terrible when I stepped on the scale and saw that I was 20 pounds heavier than I was when I met my future husband. Wow!!! I've always had to watch my weight, it's just something the women in my family hav... Sun, 7 Feb 2010 13:13:40 EST HI I am a mom from SW michigan who is looking to get healthy and lose some weight. Tue, 12 Jan 2010 22:47:55 EST How's Tricks? In other words, how is everyone doing? I admit that I'm not down a lot in weight anymore, but I'm way ahead in terms of having built a lot of new healthy habits, so overall? I feel like I've made progress even if I haven't shed a ton of pounds overall. Tue, 3 Nov 2009 09:10:58 EST Sasa For a long time now, I've needed to take control of my life. It is not that I have lived unhealthy; it is that for awhile I have just neglected myself physically, emmotionally, and spiritually, and with the diagnosis of cancer, I know that I must do everything within my power to stay healthy, mentally, spiritually and physically. I need support in this area. And, I welcome, serious support only. Fri, 28 Aug 2009 16:31:19 EST Team Goals? Maybe we should try out a simple challenge or two to keep us old-timers on track. hehehe I know we've been here awhile, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has slipped from time to time and still isn't quite where they want to be. Sun, 7 Jun 2009 18:54:20 EST Is anyone from this class a success story? Who from this class has done it? Gotten to goal (or at least close to it)...share your success! Sun, 17 May 2009 06:00:01 EST It's coming up on two years..... Are you where you thought you would be?

I know I'm not....I certainly thought I would have been done by now (which I was last year but life got in the way and I regained 35 pounds).

Sun, 25 Jan 2009 08:44:00 EST Rough Patch So yesterday, I had a very rough patch. I didn't want to do anything, I wanted to give up, I wanted to just say "forget it"... and thanks to the support of folks here, I didn't. Just a few nice words and I felt like I could push through it.

We all have those days (weeks, months...), so what picks you up when you're wallowing in your own misery and just don't want to? Thu, 15 Jan 2009 08:56:59 EST Re-Dedication So I'm starting over. No, not completely. But for a few months there, I slacked in a major way. I didn't gain all the weight back, thankfully, but I've definitely set myself back some. So now I'm buckling down, counting my calories, and doing it the right way again, the way I KNOW it works. Who's with me? Mon, 5 Jan 2009 13:42:11 EST where is every one at? I notice that there hasn't been a lot of activity in here lately so I was just wondering where everyone was at.... with thier goal.
I have changed my goal so many times I have no idea where I am at right now, but I know I haven't reached it. Sparkpeople has helped keep me on track for the most part, but I could definately do better.
How about you?? Sat, 18 Oct 2008 10:07:51 EST Farewell Dear Everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I'm leaving it has nothing to do with sparkpeople because it is a fantastic and funtastic site as a matter of fact I've recommended it to family and friends. I am just starting to slowly start working out again, but am afraid to get on the scale again. Anyways,I just wanted to say hi again, and let everyone know that I am slowly trying to catch up and re-join the ranks. Tue, 21 Aug 2007 11:59:38 EST I completed a challenge! I committed to the Womens Health Challenge and I finished it. Whew when I started my goals were meager; but as I rounded the corner and neared the finish line I had greatly increased my weekly goals and I did it! I crossed the finish line - virtually Alaska to Hawaii! It's the first challenge I've sucessfully completed! 244 185 264 Sun, 8 Jul 2007 21:38:23 EST I'm at goal I did it. It took almost 5 months, but I reached my goal. SP is wonderful. I know I couldn't do it without SP especially using the food tracker. I look at this site as a way of helping me maintain my weight because for me this was not a diet but a way of life. I am going to try to lose another 10 lbs as I am so motivated. I feel great and love the way I look. Okay I still can't wear a bikini, but I did splurge and boughht myself some new sexy underwear. Sun, 27 May 2007 12:09:36 EST Bad Week Well my diet this week went down the tubes. I am actually scared to get on the scale. We had people in from out of town this week, and we went out, drank, and I was out late three nights, so I missed three or four workouts. Next week is a new week right? Fri, 4 May 2007 10:24:31 EST Who has fallen off the wagon? Hiya
I started in the last week of January and lost around 10 lbs. Then a month ago I just really fell hard off the wagon and put half of it back on. Complicated by stomach problems (I have been having them for about 2 weeks!) and depression, I am grabbing onto the wagon as best I can. It helps that the only things that seem to agree with my system are oatmeal, greens (cooked) and certain fruits and occasionally, legumes. Very bizarre. It seems to be set off every time I try to have dair... It may seem like a bit of a stretch, but doing the toe-touch crunch is a great way to work your abdominal muscles and strengthen your thighs -- and who couldn't use some boosting there? This is an exercise you can do at home for a morning stretch, or try it just before you go to bed at night to loosen up those muscles.

Sat, 21 Apr 2007 23:22:37 EST Earth Day Challenge Sunday April 22, 2007 is Earth Day, I challenge all my fellow "class sparkers" to do something nice for Mother Earth tomorrow. I just starting to work my way around to all of the stuff on Spark Points. I just completed 40 mins in the elliptical. I want to become pregnant in July. And being pregnant is an excellent way to gain weight. I decided I needed to get control of myself before I got to the point of needing a forklift to get me out of my house. I want to be at 185 or less by July 4 when I hope to become pregnant. I hope that this time I can accomplish the task and not lose motivation. The idea of... Mon, 26 Feb 2007 23:10:41 EST so tired I don't know what's wrong with me today, I'm just so tired. I did my regular workout, but I just feel drained. I should be starting my period soon, would this make me more tired? This is my third week and I've never felt like this before. I don't feel sick just exhausted. I watch my iron intake so I wouldn't think it is that, I usually don't ever go over 1300 cal aday should I eat more today? I don't know it just stinks just venting I guess.
Tara Mon, 26 Feb 2007 15:21:22 EST Treadmills We are thinking of purchasing a treadmill. Since I joined Spark Points about 2 weeks ago, I have been very conscious about what I eat, and I have been exercising WAY more than I used to. For breakfast I have a Dr. Oz shake I learned about on Oprah - it's got wonderful things in it - psyllium seed husks, flax seed oil, protein, a banana, and some blueberries. Only 140 calories. Then I have a Frigo Light Cheese stick for my mid morning snack (60 calories). Then for lunch I have 1/2 cup of granola mixed wi... Tue, 20 Feb 2007 18:37:02 EST How do you do it? How do you lose 5 - 15 lbs in a month? Are you following the SP diet, or just the calorie limits? Are you measuring and weighing all food?
