I primarily drink bagged teas, so I started off with a tea pot on the stove. That isn't very convenient, so I went with a cheap water boiler. I upgraded to a Black and Decker model with variable temperature settings, as I read that green teas should be steeped at 175 degrees instead of boiling to release less bitter tannins, and found that the tea was indeed smoother.
