Wed, 18 Feb 2015 03:52:48 EST Sugar? Hi everyone,
I was just wondering what people's opinions are on whether or not to completely cut sugar out of your diet, or not. I have always just incorporated my sugar cravings into my diet, but I'm now beginning to wonder if it is time to really reduce and control my sweet tooth more. This is more because I realise that sugar is not very good for me, and I would like to be eating healthier. Has anyone managed to do this? How? Tue, 20 Jan 2015 08:20:39 EST Back to the team also I also had lost successfully and maintained for a number of years via Spark. Got caught up in life difficulties, change to work at home, sick and dying family members, advent of thyroid disease 2 years ago, loss of my spouse last May, and some current but improving shoulder problems. I lost about 6 lbs in the last 2 weeks, but I intend to take this a little bit slower as soon as I get to 56 kg (123.5 lbs).
These last 2 weeks I've been eating almost every day in the 1200-1300 range and ran for 2-3 days with dog walking the othe... Sat, 12 May 2012 15:37:44 EST hi from washington state i joined SP a few years ago and tried to make it "stick" a couple of times, but never really committed. i hit my goal weight in jan 2011, but put it all back on that spring and have been fighting it ever since - i'd manage to get down to 116, and then climb back up to 123 (i'm 5'2"), and repeat.

this time, i've been here for 4 weeks and amazingly managed to lose 6 lbs by tracking everything i ate and every mile that i've walked or run. i broke the magic 116 barrier this week, but h... Sat, 28 Apr 2012 05:35:28 EST This team looks great ! I'm ready to get rid of these last 10 pounds that have crept up. Finally going to give myself the time and energy that I've given to my family over the years. Sun, 1 Apr 2012 21:24:02 EST Breaking out of a slow weight climb Hi. I just joined SparkPeople a couple of weeks ago. I lost 30 lbs on WeightWatchers a couple of years ago, and even though I routinely track and work out, my weight has been slowly creeping back up. I've gained 15 lbs back, but would be happy losing 10 of them if I can then maintain.
I think just logging everything I eat and letting SP tell me what the calorie count is has already worked for me - it has helped me track all the little things that fell through the cracks with points.... Fri, 16 Mar 2012 10:57:54 EST Coming Home I was so excited to see this group of wonderful women who i think I can relate to. Can't wait to read all of the posts, successes, challenges, and insights! I have struggled with those "last" 10-20 lbs my entire adult life. i was skinny as a pole til I turned 18 (nutrition & exercise changed for the worse, at the same time my teenage growth spurt slowed. agg). Now, 35+ years later, I am still fighting that battle. Occasionally I've won for a couple of years, but it has always come back (even... Thu, 15 Mar 2012 18:35:12 EST Hi from Northern California Good morning! Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am working on losing the last 5 pounds AGAIN! Last year lost 20+ pounds for my sons wedding. In the past few months my weight has been creeping up again and I want to stop it now. I enjoy exercising and eating healthy foods but have more difficulty with portion control. By honestly writing down what I'm eating I am hoping to be more mindful and make better portion control decisions. Sat, 10 Mar 2012 12:15:46 EST Howdy! Hi, everyone!
I just joined the team because I am not finding the right kind of support in my other spark teams. Lots of great people, but not many people at the same place in goals/fitness level! I love to run and do martial arts, I'm an Army Wife, a mom, and run my own registered daycare. I'm looking forward to connecting with others like me. Tue, 28 Feb 2012 14:16:29 EST Grrr...Scale Wont Budge! Hi Everyone,

Just need to vent a little....I cannot make the scale move at all! Its been stuck at 136.0 for months. I check every few days, always in the AM and weigh myself in my underwear for consistency.

Two years ago I was all the way up to 146 (im 5'2) and it was horrifying for me. I started exercising and watching what I ate and I dropped to about 128. Since I have gotten back up to 136. (I was 131 six months ago, but since I have gotten married, i've put on anothe... I just revamped my goals and plan to be at my goal weight by summer. Fri, 25 Mar 2011 09:24:08 EST Hello! Hi All--

I'm new to SparkPeople and so close to my goal weight! I'm a former WW member (but got fed up with the charging and my schedule is too crazy at the moment to work in the weekly meetings) so I thought I would give SparkPeople a try. I'm 7 pounds away from my goal weight. Although I'm in the best shape I've ever been in, I get pretty hard on myself, which I'm trying to change (but I'm sure a lot of us can relate to that?). I also just registered for my first marathon and... Tue, 8 Mar 2011 20:59:29 EST Hi everyone! Hey guys I'm Lindsay. I'm a sophomore at UW-Madison and I'm trying to lose 8 lbs. I feel kind of silly that I needed to join a website to lose 8 lbs but I've been trying for about a year and I was beginning to develop a really unhealthy relationship with food and low self esteem. I want to get back to what I weighed in high school but I also want to be fitter so if I don't quite make it all the way down there I will be ok with that. Anyways I'm happy to be a part of your group! We can do... Tue, 8 Mar 2011 00:39:52 EST Hello While I am not new to SparkPeople, I have made-up my mind tht I need to lose these 10 pounds. I have had people call me anorexic, grill me about what I'm eating, and say things like "you didn't even need to lose weight". It's very odd. I'm not even at my goal weight and I am nothing near looking like I'm anorexic. My BMI is ... Thu, 8 Jul 2010 11:27:17 EST Life is What Happens AFTER the gym! Hi! I am a returning member after an eight pound gain. Totally my fault for lack of commitment and healthly eating habits. I was moving and making changes in life so much that everything else just got pushed aside regretfully so. I am looking for a buddy to help keep me on track. I want to loose the 8 lbs and then a few more to reach what was my previous goal. I am tracking calories and workouts here too. Anyway.... I have been working to lose weight since Dec 2009. I've managed to SLOWLY take off 16lbs so far. I have another 10 to go until I reach my goal. My weight loss has stalled down to about 1/2 lb per week, if that. Last time I lost weight I was in my early 30's and it was so much easier. Any tips or ideas on breaking through those last 10? I think I didn't want to admit that the 194 ever existed.

Now I'm wondering though if I should change it to where I first started before WW, or if it even matters. Does it help others to see how far I came? Mon, 10 May 2010 07:37:21 EST Hi Hi, I'm Kelly. I'm 31 & getting married next September. I've joined because I have just a few more pounds I want to lose and I'm having trouble. I really want to get healthier overall so I think this program will be very helpful. I've been looking for something that can keep my interest. I do not currently exercise at all and I want to change that. I'm looking forward to seeing how this program works and how it can help me as an individual to change my habits. Mon, 10 May 2010 06:14:52 EST I'm done trying to lose I was trying to get to 165, but after much considereation, I changed my goal to 168. Really anything under 170 will be good for me. I have come to the conclusion that it is not worth beating myself up over a few pounds. I registered for a triathlon 7 weeks from now, and a 5K 2 weeks from now, and cutting calories is not a realistic option. I'm actually quite happy in my comfortably fitting size 10's. So I'm done losing weight. Sun, 9 May 2010 07:41:03 EST Hiya, I'm a newbie. Hey, I'm Shannon and I have 9 pounds left to lose before I get to goal. They're right when they say the last 20 are the hardest to lose! I lost 40 pounds fairly easily between late November 2009 and March of this year. Then I decided to slow down in April. I REALLY slowed down! I've kicked it back into gear this week and I've lost a couple more pounds, but I'm really kicking myself in the butt to stay motivated.
