I eat a light breakfast so that I can eat moderatley at lunch without feeling regretful later. I've thought about saying how I do it and why.....what you guys think? I feel so bad about it. :( But hey, my friend says it's all cosmetic and not to worry about it soooo we're going to be riding again next week. :) Sun, 19 Oct 2008 22:30:52 EST Getting my first jacket tomorrow! I'm so excited. I called the nearest Cycle Gear store to see if they had my jacket in stock and they do but it's in a XL. In shirts I wear a medium now so I really looking for a Large instead so I can fit maybe two tshirts under. I'm going to try on that XL and see how it looks and feels. If it doesn't fit the way I want then it can be ordered in a smaller size said the owner. I hoping it fits or to find a similar jacket with stars on it because I need it for class.

Anyway, I'm... Thu, 16 Oct 2008 11:22:05 EST Another Sad Day Tuesday morning about 8:00 am another motorcyclist got hit by a car here in Effingham, IL. He was 83 years old and a car pulled out in front of him and killed him. He was probably just out for a nice morning ride to the coffe shop with his buddies. I didn't know him personally but all of a sudden I feel his families pain. Grandpa's not here Wed, 15 Oct 2008 08:52:13 EST Daily Steps This is for us bikers who wear pedometers
The recommended amount of steps is 10,000.
Start slow and work up.I sit at a desk all day.
As we keep track you will learn ways to get steps. Like now when I am on spark people I stand at the kitchen counter and march. When I am making copies at work I march at the copier. I take the long way to the bathroom. I walk to other cubicles rather than sending an e-mail. I also march during half of the biggest loser and I usually knit dur... Tue, 14 Oct 2008 19:17:28 EST Accessorizing! When you think of getting something new for your bike, which is more important: functionality or decoration?

The last new thing I got was the pipes because I thought they would be cool and sound more "Harley-like". The next thing I'm in the market for will be a new seat. The stock seat is sooo uncomfortable. Trouble is I don't want to spend a ton of money without knowing if it will be an improvement.
Shirley Mon, 13 Oct 2008 20:53:10 EST Hard Lesson Learned We took the whole clan out on Saturday for ride. Jay on his 05 Road Star, me on my 05 V-star, Paul on his 05 V-star, and Kat, a newbie on her 81 Kaw. She was doing fantastic, keeping up, making the turns curves, shifting up and down. But unfortunately on one bad corner she lost it. It was a lot of gravel, she was going to fast and she got nervous abou the car coming at her in the other lane. She was going about 40 mph and just laid it down, She log rolled but got right up. She got a little ro... Mon, 13 Oct 2008 09:02:55 EST intercom systems I've been looking at some sort of intercom system to buy for my husband and I. It would need to be bike to bike capable as well as same bike. I sometimes ride my own and sometimes just ride with him. I have seen some systems out there for sale but i'm afraid to make the final purchase as they are not so cheap and i am having a hard time finding reviews on different ones out there. Do any of you have an intercom system that you like or dislike? Any input on what to consider while shoppin... Sun, 12 Oct 2008 14:19:28 EST What do I do now? I'm the same that posted the 'looking for ideas' for a gift for my friend that was taking the motorcycle safety class. So I purchased the guardian bell and a little charm for her necklace of a motorcycle. Well, she went to the 1st day of the riding portion and crashed. She's got some bumps, bruises, and is very sore. She decided to quit the class... She's not sure that she wants to attempt the class ever again because she is scared.
My question is, what do I do with the gifts I purchas... Sun, 12 Oct 2008 04:26:22 EST What kind of helmet do you have and... much did it cost? I'm in the market for a helmet, jacket, gloves and a pair of boots. Looking into helmets and some are quite expensive. I'm found an Icon helmet with stars on it (I love stars) and the jacket to match. The jacket is 156 and the helmet is 300...ouch!!!

Tell me about your helmet. What do you like the most about it and what don't you like the most about it? Thu, 9 Oct 2008 10:25:55 EST Looking for some Help Okay all, I am looking for some ideas. First off I should tell you about my Job. I am a Food Service Director at a k-8th Grade school. One of my jobs is to create the menus each month. On the menu's I have added a little advice/knowledge section. In this section I put little comments about food, fitness or sometimes even a healthy recipe. I have room for about 100 words. Anyone have any ideas that i could use that promotes a healthier life style? Because I am working on Novembers menu ... Tue, 7 Oct 2008 12:31:24 EST Tracking Calories Burned I was curious if anyone has any suggestions on how to track calories burned for an activity that is not listed. More specifically, I do a lot of off-road riding and on occasion hit the local MX track for some practice. I know these activities are physically demanding thus I know I'm burning more calories than say couch surfing but how do I track that? Thu, 2 Oct 2008 15:09:32 EST Looking for ideas..... My best friend is taking her motorcycle safety course this coming up weekend. I'm very excited for her and proud of her for doing this. I want to get her a little gift for when she graduates, but have no clue what I should get her. We are sport bike riders, so the harley/cruiser stuff doesn't really apply. I've thought about a charm for her necklace, but having a hard time finding one. Any one have any suggestions?
I don't really want it to be super expensive. Under $50 is what I'm ... Thu, 2 Oct 2008 03:25:00 EST Gas switch.. ...which way is right? Someone is probably going to laugh their buns off at this thread but I have ANOTHER question. the motorcycle class I took, they recommended turning the gas off after riding. NOW..ON is at the bottom, OFF is to the left side, RESERVE is on top...but my question is: Which part of the switch is the "pointer"? The short blunt end or the long end? Hubby and I disagree about which is which. I don't want to be riding with the switch on Reserve when it should be get my drift? Wed, 1 Oct 2008 23:22:51 EST Taking my Motorcycle written test this Saturday... ...wish me luck!!! Wed, 1 Oct 2008 23:21:04 EST Dirt Bikers? Hello Everyone,

I participate in off-road racing and trail ridding in Southern California. Are there any other dirt bike riders on here? 108 Tue, 30 Sep 2008 13:14:17 EST Anyone else have or thinking of getting a tattoo? I have a few ideas for the tattoo I want on my shoulder. I may not get it for a while because I am still putting it together. I want a lighthouse, motorcycle, angel and winding road all on one. My husband has a tattoo on each upper arm. One is a Viking warrior with an American flag draped on him. The other is a Star Wars Klingon type of symbol. He drew out what he wanted and took the designs in and got them done a few days later. This may be my reward for reaching a goal. Thu, 25 Sep 2008 22:16:24 EST Hello from HOT-Lanta Hello fellow riders. Just found this group and would love to join. I've been riding for about 3 years now and LOVE it. I've got myself a blue-ish purple 2002 Honda Shadow 750 and it fits me just right. Great starter bike - to the point that I've realized should I "upgrade" I'm still going to keep it. Like my baby. I moved to Atlanta from Michigan and can I say... "WOW" what a difference in weather. I love that we are close to Florida too - helps with figuring out if I want to hit up Bi... Wed, 24 Sep 2008 20:21:33 EST any opinions on trailers We are on the look out for a trailer for the bike. Problem is I want it vented with a window cause I want to take my dog. (ok a very spoiled dog) but she loves to go and I think she would love it - not to mention it would give us more freedom to go and not have to worry about kennels. We are contemplating starting with a trailer base and building our own. Wed, 24 Sep 2008 18:23:59 EST Hey from the Midwest Hi guys, hope you take on motorcycle chick wannabees. My hubby and I bought a Goldwing last year and so far I ride behind him, but I am saving my money hard cause now I am bit by the bug. We are scoping out some bikes for me and I hope by next summer I will be riding beside him not behind him. Anyway - I'm married, no kids unless you count a very spoiled dog and live in Missouri. and I don't get to ride near enough - that's the other reason to get my own bike. This sounds like a fun group a... Wed, 24 Sep 2008 17:21:17 EST Must See Movie! Iron Jawed Angels

Premieres Feb 15 on HBO

nopsis/index.html

IRON JAWED ANGELS recounts for a contemporary audience a key chapter in U.S. history: in this case, the struggle of suffragists who fought for the passage of the 19th Amendment. Focusing on the two defiant women, Alice Paul (Hilary Swank) and Lucy Burns (Frances O'Connor), the film shows how these activists broke from the mainstream women... Tue, 23 Sep 2008 12:01:55 EST This is where i say hello Hello everyone :-)
This site is amazing! I was searching communities and found this one. Pretty cool... I would post a question in the morning and anyone could answer it through out the day. It might be something fun or something serious. So today my question is:
Does anyone want to have this thread with a question of the day? Mon, 15 Sep 2008 06:31:59 EST Kermit Luggage I have been using Helen's Bags for some years now. I strap two large end-load duffels behind me. I put liners in them, however. I know they are supposed to be waterproof, but I got water in them one time when we had to ride in 3" per hour rain for over an hour.

Now Kermit of Kermit chairs is making touring bags and I wondered if any of you have tried them. They, too are supposed to be waterproof, and they seem better made (especially now that Helen sold her business and they a... Fri, 12 Sep 2008 22:14:30 EST Does any other Motorcycle Chick Knit?
