Tue, 13 Mar 2018 07:38:44 EST Inviting the unexpected I have invited 4 family members to join me. Each day I send a text message. Tomorrow is day 5 and this is the message they will get:

Did you know variety is important when it comes to exercise? Your muscles are smart. When they do new things they’re a little shaky at first, but they learn quickly and become more efficient at doing them. As a result, they don’t have to work as hard (or burn as many calories, or respond with positive gains) to keep up. Today's challenge, Thursday 11/... Hello all, I'm about to be 50, gained 30 lbs in last 2.5 yrs, was just diagnosed with high cholesterol AND prediabetes - a HUGE wake-up call. So, here I am. One thing I've always lacked when dieting in the past was accountability, so hopefully this will be just what I need. And timing must be right (I pray) because I have passed up all sweets and desserts since my diagnosis 7 days ago! (It helped that I bought desserts I just don't like for Thanksgiving!) Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group, has started more than 400 companies. He has also published multiple books, is an active philanthropist, and has many personal hobbies. When asked how he does it all, he always lists exercise as his number-one productivity secret. Research suggests that he may be right. Hello Everyone!

I recently started walking to and from work every day. It's roughly an 45 minutes to an hour each way, so 1 hr 30 minutes to 2 hrs round trip. If I don't stop for my coffee, it's usually 3 miles. If I stop for coffee or at the gas station, it's a little bit more.I have pretty much been adding 60 minutes of walking to my tracker for now, but I'm wondering if I'm doing myself more harm than good. Granted, I have been eating sometimes a little over my 1200-1550 calori...
