I had to deal with a family crisis, some health complications of my own, and an 8-yr old child who is suffering from yet-to-be-diagnosed health issues. I don't have healthy coping skills, so... I'm really interested in getting to know you all better :) I've been "overweight" for most of my life. I started having weight-related health issues, so I knew it was time to get my act together. Thu, 20 Nov 2014 14:41:00 EST hello new to spark people.... Hello and welcome to my health and wellness fitness journey, this was actually my very first day of my journey. Actually a few days ago I have made a health discovery from my cpap machine. I really haven't been consistent with my machine and the cause of myself not being consistent with it, very tired throughout the day, very low energy. At first I thought it was my thyroid problems, but I said to myself let me try using my machine consistently for a few days and see what happens. The results... Mon, 20 Oct 2014 19:04:54 EST short term accountability partner? Hi! I'm looking for an accountability partner for a few weeks. I'm thinking it would be good to message each other EVERY DAY to say what we've been doing to keep on track, honestly. This is not a long-term commitment, just for a few weeks while we solidify some healthy habits! I'm pretty committed and think having to report to someone else who knows what I'm going through might help me keep on the plan! I have about 15 pounds to lose, I'm veg and I run, bike, and go to classes like zumba and... Tue, 16 Sep 2014 09:42:42 EST New Challenge Has there been any talk of a new challenge for this book? I caught a head cold over the weekend, so I'll have to take it easy on exercise until I'm feeling better. I biked 6K to work this morning and will bike home. That burns about 145 calories each way.

I had a huge glass of orange juice this morning, which was too many calories, but it makes me feel better when I have a cold. Sepsis is a nasty little illness because the body takes a huge hit if not caught in time. In many cases it is fatal. In my case I lost the ability to walk, now I have Atrial AFib and my left leg just went completely numb. I spent 3 months in the hospital getting stronger and learning how to walk. When I went in I weighed 515 lbs. On... Fri, 2 Aug 2013 09:32:20 EST Fitbit...Is this exercise or NEAT? Okay, I don't have a Fitbit, but I was curious about how they worked and was looking into it. Seven hours! Holy cow! I figured this person must be doing marathon training. Instead it was 420 Fitbit minutes.

I'm confused, and I was hoping my Spark Solution te... Wed, 26 Jun 2013 13:23:01 EST Too much food - not enough calories I am soooo full I can't even think about eating another bite. Sun, 23 Jun 2013 12:08:08 EST How much exercise vs. food intake I am 62 years old, have gone through menopause, and am accustomed to exercise. I did notice that I did not want to eat as much of the sweets as I would have in the past. They just were too much for me and didn't taste as good as they used to. Today was getting our deck completed. Who knew 3 boards would take 4 also were burning up some of the wood in our fire pit while we were working, but it is all done. Had the breakfast from the book, no lunch of snacks, and had dinner out with the hubby for our anniversary. I think calorie wise I should still be ok. Wed, 15 May 2013 14:43:12 EST Cooking for two with different caloric goals Ok, I don't think I will have any problems adjusting the daily menus to meet my caloric goals of 1210 - 1560. But if I want to prepare the same meals for my son, who has a caloric goal of 1820 - 2170 what do I do? Prepare an extra helping of one of the meals, so he would eat 2 servings not 1? Or, Include more snacks to make up the difference? Any suggestions? Wed, 15 May 2013 13:32:54 EST miso paste I went to several stores trying to find miso paste. The miso orange chicken recipe said to find it in the refrigerated asian section but no one had it. I decided to look in the aisle with the asian and mexican food stuffs and that is where I found it. It was not cheap 6.99 but about the size of a bottle of A1 steak sauce and it was in a bottle, I had been looking for a small jar. I started Sunday a day ahead of the challenge so I will be having the miso orange chicken stir fry for lunch... Wed, 15 May 2013 10:52:16 EST Mapley syrup I was at Target last night and was browsing the food aisles to see if there was anything I might still need and I found a tiny bottle of maple syrup 2. something ounces for $ 2.29. I have seen some complaints about the cost of maple syrup and how you use such a small amount it it not worth paying the price. I was right there with you but I did not mind paying 2.29. We used weights and bands and a ball for most of the sitting exercises. Can anybody help me figure this out?

Thanks.
Tue, 14 May 2013 21:23:26 EST SOS please offer suggestion We had a special day at work and I gave into peer pressure to eat what they served for lunch there, not horrible, but not what was on our meal plan, so I am so OCD I don't know what to do now. I know this is silly, but help! I have the snack and lunch from today's menu sitting in my work fridge. Tue, 14 May 2013 17:50:56 EST Day 1 cooking I was preparing food for today last night and it took me forever. I am used to a grab and go breakfast, so having something you eat with a fork was different.
