I'm Laurie I'm starting the new year with a renewed desire to accomplish something on my weight loss journey. I am also a member of weight watchers at the moment, but I figure, hints from both WW and SP can't hurt, right? Had a rough 2017 with the death of my father at the first of the year and my brother in law at the end of the year... my focus was pulled away from my weight loss journey. I'm hoping 2018 will be easier on the emotions so that I can get somewhere with this project. My cholesterol levels have improved, which my Md. is very pleased with and me too of course. The doc suggested 5 days a week of exercise so I plan on signing up for my M-W-F water class and adding T-TH Tai Chi. Will that help the weight to move? I don't know. Thu, 19 Oct 2017 09:44:03 EST Getting fit It has been a goal of mine to get my heart rate up when I walk. Today I did that. I walked 45 minutes and got my heart rate up to a peak rate for 2 minutes ( high of 151). I did 20 minutes at cardio rate and 23 minutes at fat burn. I did this by running and jogging part of my walk. That got my rate up quite well. My reward is that it felt really good. I get discouraged when my weight does not decrease as fast as I think that I should, and sooo I fall back to old unhealthy habits. My coach suggested that instead of focusing on the scale, I focus on the small goals that I am setting and how well I am doing in achieving them. This helps! It makes good sense. Thank You!! Tue, 19 Sep 2017 07:49:55 EST New Scale I finally purchased a new scale after using an old scale for over twenty years and well aware it wasn't accurate.
