My name is Anna and although I am on a new "journey", I'm not entirely new to Sparkpeople. Mon, 11 Mar 2013 17:02:33 EST Hello everyone Pretty much read my spark page and you will see who I am and if you are in Joplin it would be nice to have a close spark buddie, but I need help no matter what. Thu, 26 Jul 2012 21:02:37 EST My Dog's Favorite Activities What are your dog’s favorite activities to play with his Peeps? Our boxer, Dempsey, loves to play with his “babies” in the house. He brings one to me, and I pitch it down the long hallway. Then we do it again, again, and again! He has some outside babies that we keep on our porch, but he just doesn’t seem interested in the fetch and pitch game outside. There he will occasionally play catch the coffee can lid (works like a small Frisbee). But he seems to get bored quickly with this activity. <... He's really what has gotten me into exercising because I tire out long before he does and it helped me realize how out of shape I really am. Any thoughts on things you guys do with your boxers to help exercise? I like taking mine for long walks on a local trail we have in the area. Sun, 29 Aug 2010 17:55:21 EST Hello to my fellow boxer lovers. Aren't they just the best dogs? or should I say clowns in the world? I so enjoy just playing and watching them play. And yes I agree with someone's title on dogs acting as if Human. However, it is are own fault which I hate to admit. I read some where it is from putting them at our own level when we should always be the leader of the pack and keep them below our level....If any of this makes since. Easy to say but so hard to correct or do. Thu, 12 Aug 2010 03:28:59 EST Boxers Puppies anyone? 334 Sun, 1 Aug 2010 12:59:14 EST My Boxer Boy Cody is not well.... Hi ....I need some encouraging words. Cody is nine and a half years old and started peeing in the house...not wanting to move around alot. Took him to the vet who believes it is arthritis. He is on pain meds, Daisquin, stomach meds.....he is vomiting some....I need to watch it. I am so distraught....he is not the same dog...listless...not interested in his dog treats or playing. Anyway, I wanted to be part of this team because I have two wonderful boxers and when I can figure out how, I will post a pic of them! Tue, 22 Jun 2010 08:33:53 EST HIVES!!! Peanut broke out in hives the other night at like 3am! I had given her a sample of "Chicken Soup" dog food I got from a pet store, and then later that night she crawled under the bed and Paul had to pull her out. About an hour later she kept waking me up by constantly chewing herself and then was crying to go out. I let her out and in the light from the porch I could see she was covered in welts!! Poor baby!! We don't know if the food or the dust caused it. Paul went to Walgreen's and g... Thu, 17 Jun 2010 14:52:50 EST My Handsome Boy - Cody Cody is my male boxer who is approximately (I dont like to think of age)seven years old. Three weeks ago he had surgery to remove 4 was malignant but the vet says he got it all. My poor baby went through hell.....bandage kept falling off of his one leg (the worst spot to operate on said the vet). A few staples popped out and they had to restitch the area with surgical thread. A hole was still left..but finally..after I abandoned using bandages and let the air get to is fina... Fri, 23 Apr 2010 12:14:58 EST Underbites, Crooked Noses, and Giant Tongues... My 1 year old boxer, Aly, is awesome! She's still more energetic than she appears to be SMART most of the time, but she is such a great part of this family. That being said, she has what appears to be an extreme underbite and a crooked nose. Her nose clearly is not centered in her face! I think the underbite is what causes her GINORMOUS BOXER TONGUE to always be hanging out of her funny little face when she is even remotely relaxed. Her appetite is great. She only eats dry, grain-free f... Thu, 22 Apr 2010 13:58:48 EST Intro Hello! My name is Marie and I'm brand new here. I am currently on day 3 and still trying to manuever around and meet people. Fri, 3 Apr 2009 09:27:34 EST Metabolism issues & Hypothyroidism in dogs Anyone have a dog with metabolism problems or is hypothyroid? I had Bella to the vet the other day for her yearly visit and some hair loss on her sides. After ruling out demodex and noting some cloudiness in one eye (she's only 2 1/2 y.o.) the vet thinks she may be hypothyroid or have other hormone problems. She wants to keep an eye on her for now and see if any other problems arise before she does blood work. Anyone have any advice? We have a 1-year-old boxer (best guess on age) that we adopted through a Rescue program. He's the 2nd Boxer in the house. Wyatt, our 3-year-old Boxer, is the most mellow boxer I've ever met (also adopted through a Rescue). The problem is that we cannot get Brody to stop his counter surfing. He will push my kids out of the way to get to their food & he's tall enough to do it!

Anybody ... Tue, 3 Feb 2009 12:39:40 EST new to the team Hi all! She doesn't listen to me at all. She is forever getting into anything that is not "tied down", she will not leave the cat alone. When I have company she is even worse than when we are home alone - she just jumps all over everyone, pulls at their sleeves, unties their shoes, etc. We have been to basic obedience class - she did fair. We are now in Agility (2 weeks i... Thu, 29 Jan 2009 18:34:40 EST I'm new to this team I have been on Dog Lovers Team for awhile, but didn't know there's one just for boxers. Mine is a wild child. Mon, 19 Jan 2009 16:34:37 EST Busy Baby Maggie is worse than having a human baby in the house. She is SO BUSY!! She steals anything that is not attached to something else. The other day she was in her crate while I was exercising with dumb bells - once she was let out, she wouldn't leave my dumb bells alone! Today, she keeps stealing my curling iron. I don't think I will ever be able to leave her uncrated when I am not home. I can't even turn my back for 5 minutes and she's into something that she shouldn't be. Tue, 21 Oct 2008 16:37:59 EST Does your boxer think he/she is human? I dont think my boxer, Abby, knows she's a dog! She acts like an actual child! She sleeps with my boyfriend and me...right in between the bed with all 4 legs sprawled out in front of...nearly pushing me off the bed. She knows she's a little princess because we have 4 other dogs and she's the only one that is an inside dog and when she goes outside, she kind of walks around the other 4 and "prisses" as if she's saying "I'm the princess". I'm new to the team with a brand new boxador pup my partner and I rescued Friday. We live about 30 minutes north of Atlanta and would love to meet any other boxer families in the area. Mon, 14 Apr 2008 13:44:11 EST New Boxer I put up a pic of the new boxer my husband and I just got Thursday. My mother in law called us and her neighbor was wanting to give away this precious baby so I didn't even give my husband time to think about it and we went and picked him up. His name is Sarge and he is already my spoiled baby. The only problem is the people who had him never let him around other dogs or cats so we are having some problems with that. Any advice welcome. THANKS! Sat, 12 Apr 2008 23:04:13 EST Snapping Boxer - HELP!! Hello all, I am new to this team but not to spark and I am the proud owner of a new boxer who is a 5 yr old rescue. We just got him on Sunday and up until last night he has been the best dog!! So loving and learning quickly the rules of the house and his manners. I have been so impressed. Then...last night while my husband was talking to the neighbor, the neighbor reached out to pet him twice and both times the dog went on gaurd and growled and snapped at the neighbors hand. We were SHOCKED!... Thu, 10 Apr 2008 12:39:06 EST Sick Boxer Well Spring is here and the horse poop is warming up! I didn't go out, so I'm not sure what was coming up at that point, but while in the house there was a lot more coming out than what went in. Amazing, I don't know where it all comes from. Since then she has had a several smaller bumps that the vet was not concerned about removing. My favorite time of day with my Boxer is early in the morning, when we are just waking up. Someone suggested that I feed her Science Diet (was feeding her Iams), and that would help with the shedding. I have been trying it for a couple of weeks and her coat is much softer now, but she is still shedding. Anyone else experiencing this problem, or have any suggestions?

Jeremy Fri, 8 Jun 2007 10:41:00 EST Challenge Anyone up for a June Challenge? Fri, 4 May 2007 16:48:07 EST new to the team Hi everyone. I am so excited to find this team! I have so many questions as I am new to the boxer breed. A breeder in my neighborhood gave me my boxer after Hurrican Katrina when my 9 y.o. Golden Retriever died. The boxer pup was the only to survive his litter which was born one week before the storm. The breeder has since moved, and I think I questioned her to death at first (probably why she moved ;)- but I hadn't had a puppy in a LONG time, and never a boxer. goes.... <... Hi - I'd like to suggest a challenge for April. I know that we all keep our dogs in great shape (I've looked at your pictures!), but we aren't so consistent about ourselves. Of course, we don't destroy shoes/couches/plushies/yards if we're not worn out, but we do hurt ourselves. So, here's my idea: Let's try to add extra minutes to our daily workouts _with_ our dogs (i.e. dog parks don't count). So, if a usual walk is 45 minutes, try bumping it up to 1 hour. We can keep a team and pers... Fri, 23 Mar 2007 12:48:10 EST Just want to say hey! I am new here and just wanted to say hey to all you boxer lovers! Aren't they great!!! Hi all, we have two boxers one is getting older and we have a 2 year old female. We attempted to breed her the week of Thanksgiving. Our dilema is we can't tell if she is pregnant or not. You can't tell by looking at her belly that is for sure but she has all the other signs. We figured she would deliver around the 26th of January. She is digging and trying to get under the bed and is very winey and nervous. The vet says we won't know until she delivers and if she is probably only one o...
