SparkPeople Nor-Cal Sparkers Team Messageboard This is a group for anyone that lives and works out in Northern California. Did you know we have members from San Jose all the way to Oregon? SparkPeople Nor-Cal Sparkers Team Messageboard Redbud blooming! Enjoyed daffodils along the bike trail in Placerville yesterday. Saw redbud in full bloom on way down to Sacramento today- just stunning! My friend's yard is bursting with hyacinth blooms- purple and pink. Not sure how the coming storms will affect them but sure enjoyed them today. This season's beauty is almost overwhelming. Fri, 17 Mar 2017 23:02:51 EST Ideas for a Sun walk/jaunt near Sacramento? Thu, 9 Mar 2017 20:00:40 EST Back at it in a new city Hi all,
I'm Lindsay. I moved out to San Francisco end of last year and I'm still getting to know the place. I've gained back the weight I lost two years ago and I've hit me bottom so I'm getting back on to spark people and now trying fitbit.

I'm just looking for teams to join with goals because I do best when I'm challenged. Also it's nice to have a group who lives around you. Sun, 31 May 2015 14:57:23 EST I need buddies!! Anyone around? Mon, 13 Oct 2014 09:30:09 EST Accountability Group If anyone is interested in an accountability group. I run a virtual fitness and accountability group on Facebook. A lot of people don't make it the first time, but I told him I didn't care how many breaks we had to take. My goal was to survive and make it to the pole at the top of the hike.

I'm extremely proud to report that we made it! I truly believe that anyone with enough determination and patience can make it to the top.

If you are looking for a challenge and are willing to kick your own ass... Any advice for new ppl just getting going - specifically related to the menus here, are they set for you? or can you make your own? Sun, 16 May 2010 19:12:20 EST New from Napa I have a LOT to lose, and from that, a lot to gain! I'm newly single, mom of 4 boys toddler to teen. I have chronic autoimmune issues of some kind that make exercise nearly impossible. I need to take baby steps and get healthy again, and that includes eating healthy (like I used to) and low impact activities, doctor's appointments and more. Glad to be here! So contact me if interested!!! 331 Fri, 9 Apr 2010 20:58:51 EST Your favorite place to do cardio is . . .? We live in northern California which means we are surrounded with wonderful places to do our cardio. What is your favorite or most unusual place to do your cardio. I love going across the Golden Gate bridge, what do you love. 312 Sun, 28 Mar 2010 00:50:27 EST How do you handle stress? Ok, you are frustrated about something and your stress level is high. We all know this can keep us from losing weight, so what do you do to get rid of the stress? I cardio the heck out of me and it helps a lot. Once, years ago, when I was skinny and now I know why, I ran three and four times a day because my stress level was so high. I don't recommend all of this exercise on a regular basis but cardio sure can fight the blues. Sat, 20 Mar 2010 01:26:41 EST Swimming Season Yahoo, I LOVE swim season and it is getting closer. Yesterday when I was taking a drink break from building a retaining wall I was sitting out by our pool and almost jumped in! I would have probably lost all ability to speak it would have been so cold, but hey, it is getting there. Hopefully, pool guy, will turn the solar heating back on soon and then it will warm up fast. It is funny, I am surrounded with neighbors with pools and when the swimming season starts we are all out there splas... Wed, 17 Mar 2010 12:36:47 EST Our team leader, Gretchen As some of you know, our team leader, Ambudsman, (Gretchen) is offline for a while as her computer crashed! So let's all hang in there so upon her return she will see what great troopers we are. And Gretchen, when you read this, if you were my neighbor you could use my computer anytime! Tue, 16 Mar 2010 16:55:23 EST Garden is awakening but so are snakes! Yikes, was increasing the height of a retaining wall today and when I picked two of the huge blocks there were snakes in them! I HATE SNAKES!!! However, these were red racers and I am told they are good for eating snails and such so I moved one to another part of the yard with a shovel and the other one, which was the largest red racer I have ever seen, went away on his own. Now I am lifting each block with a long handled shovel first! 198 Tue, 16 Mar 2010 16:52:45 EST We're in week 9, how are we doing? In the middle of week 9 and I am loving Spark. I am so excited I found our very own local chapter in the Sparking saga! I've been Sparking since mid October, 2009 where I started out around 207lbs and have gone down to 188. I've introduced jogging to my routine - I can only workout outdoors since the gym is out of my budget right now, so this weather has been getting me a bit down. I do strength training at home too, mostly some of the demos I found online thru this site, and your usual crunches, squats, push-ups, etc. I've been stuck... Just thought I would throw this out here.

I discovered the Calorie Differential report the end of February and it has really helped me stay on track. I joined a team challenge on February 1st and we were trying to stay in the -500 differential daily. A pound is equal to 3500 calories and if you can maintain an average -3500 for the week you could lose a pound a week.

I added more fitness to my day and most days I am in the minus but not always -500. Wed, 3 Mar 2010 01:04:31 EST Hey, Northern Californians - what are we go to do? Still no team leader, I hope they don't cancel this team because of the lack of a leader. Let's rise to the opportunity. I feel closer to a lot of you because we are sort of from the same neck of the woods. Don't get me wrong, I love all of my teams but this one is like home! Hmmm, maybe, I should step up OR one of you! What do you think?
247 Thu, 25 Feb 2010 23:24:06 EST Hey Ya'll Hey Ya'll. However, I coach softball in Healdsburg HS and tryouts are next week. I want to see the girls on the field before the rain runs us inside.
