Fri, 15 Nov 2019 19:07:36 EST This group is one breath away from inactive (sigh) Fri, 9 Aug 2019 15:05:27 EST just checking in - from Kelly :) Good afternoon Spark Friends!

I wanted to take a minute to reach out to each of the clubs I’m a moderator for. I joined SparkPeople a few months back and was actively taking the challenges and making friends and accomplishing my weight loss goals. Then a few things started to change in my life. I had to deal with a family crisis, some health complications of my own, and an 8-yr old child who is suffering from yet-to-be-diagnosed health issues. I don't have healthy coping skills, so... Sun, 24 Mar 2019 16:41:53 EST Our Family Goals My aim is to get the whole family involved in creating goals around the following topics:

1. Meals/snacks
2. Movement
3. Screen Time

I think that if I get them involved/invested in creating the goals, we will all be more likely to work toward them. Here's how it went...

185 Understanding My Children's Need for Exercise: I felt weird having a "structured, chaperoned, planned activity" for the children to do, so I just tried to monitor their activities. Other than one rainy day that coincided with returning from an exhausting camping trip, they stayed adequately active just being kids - running around the yard finding bugs, helping me with chores, etc. I suppose we did do some slightly stru... Sun, 26 Jun 2016 15:24:09 EST Hi it's me, Christy I am a 40+ single mother of 3 wonderful children. I need to lose more than a few pounds, and in general just need to be more active, as I have a sit down job... Overall, me and my children are looking to make healthier life style changes. I suffer from a few mild conditions, that are most likely fixed by making better choices and exercising more. If you have any suggestions you'd like to share, I'm willing to take the advice :) Mon, 20 Jun 2016 14:17:44 EST Week 2 Completed We made it through week two! Actually, that makes it sounds like it didn't go well, but it did.

289 267 Eat More Fruits and Vegetables: I have always been good about pushing the produce on our children, but I tend to do not so great myself. Usually I am good right after the monthly shopping trip, but as the supplies of fruit and vegetables dwindle, I tend to quit serving myself to save more for our children. I have made a vow to quit doing that. It took some c... Sun, 19 Jun 2016 13:03:47 EST Week 1 Completed Today we completed week 1 of the challenge. Yay!

387 Screen Time - I have always tried to keep our screen time to a minimum, but it was a fun challenge to actually track the minutes we spend in front of a screen. Everyday the children had at least 30 minutes. This "tech time" is their reward for completing all their chores and homework (or summer school work). Their times varied between 30 minutes and about 90 minutes. As for myself, I spend about 2 hours on my computer ... Sun, 12 Jun 2016 11:19:48 EST week two This step is inspiring. I have noticed my family spends way too much time online or zoning out on their laptops and tablets and not really interacting with each other ...

So I was wondering, instead of No TV\Screen time, what would the group feel about a Family Movie night ... No Laptops, No tablets, No Electronic or Paper Books ... just the family enjoying a night spent together watching a movie ... each week one member would get to choose the movie and as long as it is family friendly we all would watc... I will bring it from the abyss of the basement and set it up in the tv room. Instead of the Wii Fit, I think we will play some bowling, and I am going to try to get the wife to play Just Dance.

It should be funny, since my wife and I can't dance. I've played a couple of times with my daughter and I could barely make it through a song.

Matt Mon, 19 Jan 2015 08:23:51 EST Hello! Hi everyone!

I'm Holley, I am 25 and a work in progress with getting myself back into shape. Three years ago I made a huge change in my life and spend a year and a half losing 75 pounds. I was 5 pounds away from my goal weight of 140. Fast forward to April 2013, we moved to Florida and my husband joined the Army, and now I started the year 35 pounds heavier than when we moved down here. The convenience of eating out and having a very busy life completely blindsided us, and we both ... Wed, 8 Oct 2014 13:10:16 EST Week 2 starting off good Well here i am on week two and my family has tried new fruits n veggies and they like it. I plan to redo a recipe of my grandmothers tomorrow to see how it turns out, should be fun. Sun, 28 Sep 2014 02:17:40 EST Change is good Getting my family to change the way they eat is going to be a challenge in itself. They eat way to much cookies and not enough veggies and fruit so my challenge will start by introducing a wide variety of fruit and veggies into their diet. I eat fruits and veggies each and everyday and so far I have found that I cant live without them. Tonight will be fun because I am having pork chops with mashed potatoes and veggies. Sat, 20 Sep 2014 15:21:06 EST Hi everyone I am new on this Team Hi everyone, letting you all know that I just joined this team so I can get help with becoming a healthy family eater again, My family eats what they want and doesnt see what it is doing to their bodies, My husband had a heart attack by eating fatty foods like vachon cakes and cookies and chips all the time. I eat chips too but I limit the amount I eat in a run of a day. Sat, 20 Sep 2014 15:05:43 EST hi Hi all. I am a mom of twins (almost) 3 years of age. They are fairly good eaters but I am the bad one and do not want to continue setting a bad example. I am finding it hard to incorporate exercise, dinner, play time, and bath time into my nightly routine with the twins. I really need to find quick, easy, and healthy dinner meals so night time can go smoothly and in a routine.
I hope joining this team will help me find those answers.
Thanks! Wed, 20 Aug 2014 14:04:23 EST Hi!! Hi everyone! I am not exactly new, but I'm back and ready to make a change. It's been a few years, but the kids are getting a little bigger now. I need to get myself in shape. Sun, 10 Aug 2014 20:04:59 EST Hi My name is Kim and I am a mother of 3 ( 27, 22, and 8).
I gained weight after the birth of my 8 year old and have kept gaining over the last few years.
I seen this challenge and think it would be good for my whole family. Tue, 10 Jun 2014 10:34:13 EST wk 3 family exerice Well couldnt exercise this week since I got my toe nail taken off but we have been doing other stuff. Like house cleaning 224 . The boys hate it but they do love going outside and playing whether riding bikes, chasing and shooting the dog with water from the water guns (dog hates water like a cat), bubble popping, and side walk chalk. Figured the best thing I can do for them is get them outside. Next week though I have three days planned for the gym for an hour each they are real... Sat, 31 May 2014 13:12:10 EST Discussion of Week 3 Week 3 Action Plan
~~Understand a child's needs for exercise~~
My kids and I are out doing stuff every day. TV/Screen time is very limited since I homeschool. Makes the day smoother. Baseball, cheerleading, swimming, jogging, hiking, walking, or just going to park is so important to the kids!
~Get active as a family at least 3xs week.~ Walking at the zoo at least 1x a week. Park at least 3xs a week. The winter was hard but we managed somehow! We are planting a garden this week;... Mon, 26 May 2014 06:01:25 EST first week Well dh and I did a meal plan and made a grocery list with everything we need for it so we can eat in instead of going out when we have no idea of what to make. When we had a talk with the boys they were not really happy about losing screen time but I think it will be better since they might play with their toys upstairs for once. As for food my second oldest said he was fine since he was skinny. My oldest just really nodded since he knows that he needs to lose weight. We are starting small l... Wed, 14 May 2014 07:38:35 EST Single Mom of Two Hi, I'm new to the forum (actually, new to the site). I had been on SP some years ago, had success with it, but fell off the bandwagon and back into plus-size clothing. A year and a half ago, I lost about 70 pounds in four months. I'd love to say it was due to wonderful eating habits and exercise, but it was more a result of the stress of my divorce and going from being a stay-at-home-mom with way too much time spent within walking distance of the fridge to being a single mom of two working t... Fri, 2 May 2014 12:59:51 EST Nice weather Well the nice weather has finally arrived where I live. My kids have started soccer and are playing 2 days a week. The snow is gone so the bikes are out. Our routine has been straight home from school for a snack, spelling words, math facts and out to play for my 9 year old son. Then home at 7 to eat and bath time. The tv has barely been on which is great and I have completely eliminated processed foods from their lunches. I loved this challenge and have definitely found a change in my kids a... Thu, 1 May 2014 12:00:27 EST Snow Well it was starting to get warmer, but last night it started to snow again and we woke to a big white blanket again. I asked my kids if they would start a Just Dance Sweat challenge with me this week. They were both pretty excited which made me happy. I walk my dog every morning after the kids head to school but my husband suggested we take him for a walk in the evening as a family. This Healthy Family Makeover is getting easier with them all on board. We are all anxious to start biking as a... Wed, 16 Apr 2014 12:04:49 EST Resistant Husband My husband keeps telling me that we need to save more money and that he needs to lose weight etc. My problem is that every time I try to talk about making a plan for saving money, eating better, and exercising as a family he is VERY resistant almost like I am trying to boss him around just be wanting to discuss a solution. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get the ball rolling without offending my husband? 198 Fri, 11 Apr 2014 13:02:49 EST A busy stay-at- home-mom Hi,
I am from Michigan, married, have 3 girls who are all in school. We are all interested in being healthier and loose weight (well all but 2 of us who need to).

We recently joined the YMCA so we're super excited. The only dilemma is that we live about 45 minutes from it. So that will be the only challenge. We got a great discount so that's been workable! :) so excited. Just hope we can fit it in our schedule often.

I have a hard time working out at home. ... Tue, 25 Mar 2014 11:07:16 EST week 2 still working on it all! I need to work in a new recipe....hard right now. We're so busy!!! so much happening. Hopefully be able to tomorrow.

Am pressing forward :) Tue, 25 Mar 2014 11:04:00 EST Mom of two Hi there. I'm the mom of two active boys. I am hoping that this challenge helps us all get more active and away from the watching screens. This winter kept us inside a lot so ready to get into some new habits. I think the more challenging part for me will be eating healthier since I'm crunched for time and it seems as if fast food isn't usually very healthy. Glad to have found this challenge. Wed, 19 Mar 2014 20:23:25 EST Excited about this Challenge! I just signed up today for the Healthy Family Makeover Challenge!
In our religion, we are at the beginning of "Lent"-- which is also good time to take stock, reevaluate, make some changes and get moving in the right direction again.
We have already cut down on the boys' screen time for Lent; we've also begun hiking as a family. I am eager to learn some other things we can do as a family to get healthy together.
Great to be here! 224
Tue, 11 Mar 2014 14:01:24 EST One kid is on board. The kids and I sat down and started talking about eating meals together. They are really happy about that. One of the kids is happy to start working out with me to be healthier. But my son who is also overweight isn't really looking forward to putting away the video games. So this is going to be a real challenge. My husband will be supportive because he hates how much money we spend on eating out. My youngest is only six weeks old so he won't care. 20 My oldest is such a picky eater and I know she is going to fight me. Anytime I serve anything for dinner that didn't come from a box she refuses to eat (and I have tried everything). My oldest son probably won't be that much of a problem. He eats pretty much anything,... Sat, 30 Nov 2013 22:07:46 EST week one the only trouble i can see for this challenge is to have my husband agree and participate in the food. it's in great shape mostly due to genetics and loves to eat. the kids should be fine with changes. I've really had a rough few days... would love to hear how you pick yourself back up and keep going :-) Mon, 9 Sep 2013 10:55:39 EST Hi all... I'm down 12ish lbs and so excited..... I've really had a rough few days... would love to hear how you pick yourself back up and keep going :-) Mon, 9 Sep 2013 01:29:00 EST Ready to be healthy Hi! My name is Felis and I am a mom to 3 biological kids and then I am also a mom to 48 orphaned children. I need to have energy...and I think my energy is low because of my eating habits and exercise. I am so tired to work out in the mornings so it becomes a vicious cycle of not working out at all because of everything else throughout the day. But I KNOW that my energy level would be better if I was eating better and exercising!

Mon, 19 Aug 2013 14:51:04 EST change of lifestyle Hi my name is Lisa and 45 years old. My husband and I a month ago quit smoking. I have gained 55 pounds since 2007 when I had my hysterectomy. We said we are going to get into shape since we give up smoking. My goal is to be very challenging, 77 pounds by April of next year (8 months).. Wed, 14 Aug 2013 17:18:02 EST Week 3 going well I got my little boy involved by having him make an exercise chart to put on the fridge. We are keeping track of the minutes each of us exercise on the chart. He is using the Wii fit to add minutes to his total, along with the swimming we do together each day. This seems to have helped motivate him to increase his exercise. Tue, 30 Jul 2013 12:02:14 EST Week 3 -- harder than I thought. We had no problem with the first two weeks, and my husband has been doing a crazy amount of healthy cooking for both baby and us, but getting some motivation for whole-family exercise is tough. Hubby has been cleaning up and pruning the gardens and yard, and letting our 21-month old play by his side. I managed to get the baby to "help" with compost by letting him drag and kick my pre-raked leaf piles over to the compost buckets. :)

The weather here has been so nice the last few we... Mon, 29 Jul 2013 09:19:46 EST Stepping out of my box Hi everyone! I have never posted on any social network type atmosphere before. So, this is way out of my comfort zone! I know that in order for me to make this time trying to lose weight and get healthy the real deal, I must give it my best shot! I am nervous but excited at the same time! Hoping for continued strength on this journey!! Fri, 26 Jul 2013 13:44:32 EST Beyond happy about this challenge! So last week we had the big family discussion about eating and since my husband does all the cooking, he was the one who had to make the most changes, but he DID! Now he and I and the baby are all eating together. Baby gets fed first, and then he either eats fruit or plays in his high chair until we are finished eating. It's great -- I love the family time.

As for this week, hubby has already switched over to brown rice and feeding the baby whole wheat toast. (I'm not sure if I ca... Tue, 23 Jul 2013 08:27:09 EST Hi There Hi!
I'm a mom of five children, three of whom are still young enough to be at home. Most of us are overweight, some less, some more. Over the years, I feel like my bad habits have rubbed off on my family, and would really like to restore hubby and kids to an understanding of health and a commitment to live it, through my own successful commitment. I am hoping for input on how to influence my family's beliefs on health in such a way as to have them freely choose health over their present ... Wed, 17 Jul 2013 18:00:42 EST This is Happening! Hi! So I have a family of 9 (3 step sons, 3 biological sons, 1 biological daughter and 1 husband). I home school my 4 biological kiddos and work and do lots and lots of stuff. Tue, 9 Jul 2013 15:44:12 EST Intro I'm Jordan, and a young mom of a 1.5 year old little girl. My husband and I are always busy but we still want to get down to our goal weight and live healthier! We've already been eating healthier due to my gluten-free diet, and are ready to incorporate exercise :) Tue, 18 Jun 2013 09:41:42 EST Intro Hello my name is rich i am the father of two children one is 5 and very busy and the other is 6 months old. Thu, 13 Jun 2013 17:44:29 EST Introduction Hello! My name is Lina and I have joined this challenge just in time for summer break for my family. I figured this would be the best time to get some healthy habits in place instead of leaving the kids to fall into bad habits like too much screen time and not enough sunshine. :) Happy to have tools like this to help us along the way. Sun, 9 Jun 2013 16:08:53 EST Week 4 and forever This was the first challenge I joined when I found Spark, and I am so glad that I did. I would have to post a book to share all the details of the transformation that has taken place over the passing weeks. We have always eaten together as a family, so we made it more fun by planning our menus together as a family and thinking up clever ways to modify favorite recipes to healthier versions.

The Family Makeover Challenge gave me the inspiration to attack our unhealthy habits in ... Mon, 13 May 2013 07:27:46 EST Finally Organized! I read the article on here about how it's so important to get organized...and wow! It really works. I first printed out the weekly meal planner...and it worked. I went to the grocery store and instead of drifting down aisle after aisle trying to to think of something "new" to feed my family that might also appeal to them...I knew instantly where to go and what to get. My normal hour and a half grocery shopping trip turned into...thirty minutes. PLUS, I saved money! 30 How awesome ... Sat, 27 Apr 2013 12:09:31 EST How much TV?!?!?!?!?! Since reading the article here about just how much the television affects our lives, I started watching my family to see just how much tube time we were getting...and wow. That's all I can say because honestly, I'm absolutely floored at just how much tube we're watching, plus add on screen time from our phones and's sad to say that most of our time is spent sitting on our hind ends all day...every day. For instance, when my son arrived home from school around 3, he went instantly... Thu, 25 Apr 2013 08:48:01 EST Health Conscience Family Hi, I am Tanya Myers, I have five adult children and my husband and I have adopted 5 special needs children through foster care. I have had a weight problem most of my life. I know what to do, just putting it all into action is the tricky part. With a large family, we have to cut corners to fill everybody up with cheap meals like mac and cheese and spaghetti. Of course I put myself at the end of the budget so everyone elses needs are met. Stress and comfort food has put an extra 170 pounds on... Tue, 23 Apr 2013 21:09:44 EST Family Meeting... Getting ready to hold the family meeting tonight. So many times before I've started a diet or have said that we're going to be more healthy by eating *sour face* veggies...and everytime before, we make it a week into it and then it's right back to Mcdonald's and Hamburger Helper. But this time...I'm absolutely serious. I know that my husband will support me in the food areas, but actually exercising a family...that he might have an issue with. My son will hate all of the areas o... Tue, 23 Apr 2013 09:13:28 EST Week 4 Progress
1. Eat as a family at least 3 times per week. We do dinner every night as a family and breakfast at least twice a week. So this is good!

2. Involve your kids in your cooking. Older child sets and clears table and assists with getting extras on the table. Both children man the toaster on breakfast days. This week both children made real chicken nuggets from scratch..and liked them. I did the cutting, younger child crushed the cereal, older child egged and cerealed t... Fri, 19 Apr 2013 17:31:30 EST Week 1 impact This challenge has had a profound impact around our house. My boys (17 and 22, so not actually 'boys') are running at 100% buy-in...and I have to admit I am surprised, and thrilled. We had our family meeting, and immediately went for our first walk together as a family the same day. We're doing another activity this afternoon (they are still choosing, since it's supposed to snow later). We may try a mall walk, or go for a swim at the local pool.

The two of them having been pour... Wed, 17 Apr 2013 08:51:57 EST The perfect challenge. This was the ideal challenge for me to start out with. I just recently discovered Spark, love it! It has kept me motivated and coming back daily. I was really excited when I found the Healthy Family challenge. I have two nearly-grown boys who just love their video games and computers. Conveniently - they love mom even more...and I am not above using that advantage against them if it's for their own good. Haha!
So, we've had our family meeting. We all agreed to get away from all el... Wed, 17 Apr 2013 08:14:59 EST HOW TO SNEAK IN VEGGIES Hey there, I must admit, I am probably just as bad as my kids on eating my veggies, I just don't like the way they taste. I know I have read some ideas about ways to sneak them in, but nothing specific. Does anyone have any specific recipes, websites, or names of good cookbooks dealing with sneaking the veggies in?? you just cant add broccoli to anything and still have it taste good, there must be some formula or something about adding certain veggies to certain kinds of foods so u don't real... Mon, 15 Apr 2013 09:13:11 EST Introduction Hi I am a mom of twin boys who are 12 and a 5 year old girl, I run a dayhome during the day and work some evenings and weekends doing retail. Since 2002 I have really struggled with my weight and it seems now I really need to fix things.because my health has been getting worse and my family is no better. I hope joining this will help me not only get me active but also help my family so that my children can have better habits than I, Thu, 11 Apr 2013 16:02:34 EST "How Much" field when tracking team goals? Hi! I'm participating in the team goals of "Get Active as a family at least 3 times a week," and "Eat together as a family at least three times a week." When I go to record my goals, I am asked "How Much?" Do I put how many times that day we were active as a family, or how many minutes we were active together as a family, or what? Thanks for any help you can give me!

ps -- Also, my husband works out of town Monday through Friday, so for those days, I'm considering "as a family... Thu, 4 Apr 2013 15:11:19 EST Week 1 Well this was a fitting goal for the week, reduce screen time. The weather has been improving so we've been trying to spend more time outside either in the yard or walking/hiking as time permits. We currently have 1- 1 1/2 hours in the evening where we are either watching tv or doing something pc/game related like this evening for example where I'm here on my laptop on the sofa and he is playing a console game. Since there are no children in the house to encourage to be more active the dogs ... Tue, 2 Apr 2013 00:58:27 EST week 3 done 1. 30-60 minutes of structured, chaperoned, planned activity while providing plenty of sporting and activity equipment in your home. Allow time (60+ minutes) for unstructured play as well. This was from the article for kids from 9 to 12, both my kids fall in this age range. Of the 7 days, I would say that my kids hit 6 out of 7 for this. They have gym class once a week, my son plays floor hockey and basketball once a week, my daughter plays volleyball once a week, they come to they gym with... Sun, 31 Mar 2013 21:33:34 EST I want a healthier family Hello, i'm Nicole. I have been looking for new challenges for myself but didn't think to get the family involved. I have been eating healthier, exercising and quitting bad habits and I think it's time that my family does the same. I have two girls (ages 5 and 9) and they are all about the electronics. TV isn't that big of a deal, but it's the MobiGo, 3DS, Laptop, iPod, and every other electronic system that we own (too many to list). My kids have gotten used to keeping themselves busy inside ... Tue, 26 Mar 2013 16:49:51 EST Week 1 Progress 1. Reduce screen time. My kids do not get to watch tv during the week (honestly they are too busy with sports or I make them come to the gym with me). On weekends, they have limited time. We agreed that we would have family

2. Hold a family meeting. We discussed health school snacks and places we could go when it's out to dinner night. At a restaurant, we talk about our food choice and if it is the best choice to make, if not how can we make it better.

3. Set yourse... Fri, 22 Mar 2013 20:34:52 EST hello just wanted to say hi and I am looking forward to this challenge not only for me but for my kids Tue, 19 Mar 2013 19:12:42 EST Hello To Everyone out there I am happy to be joining the Spark team. I have two daughters, one teen and one nine year old. My youngest loves to exercise and eat healthy foods, my teen would exist on junk food if allowed. Oddly enough, its my youngest that has a weight problem. We are joining Spark to help us all get healthier as a family. Sun, 17 Mar 2013 21:31:04 EST new I am new to this challenge and I am ready to get started! Sun, 17 Mar 2013 18:31:58 EST Hello Hey everyone! My name is Tracy. I joined this team so that I could help myself and my family get healthier. Thu, 7 Mar 2013 10:51:11 EST Goals My son is grounded from most electronics this week so TV is the only thing left, but he and I keep pretty busy with other things, like schoolwork, pets, taking walks (this started Sunday),l and playing board games. I want to be sure we are healthy all around, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. Tue, 5 Mar 2013 23:49:48 EST Week one for me and Desmond I actually was talking to my son tonight about this very thing before I even saw the challenge! Looks like he is all for being a super healthy family. We started going for walks together this week and he helps me with the planning of meals the day prior. So it looks like we are off to a good start. Tue, 5 Mar 2013 23:45:08 EST Water Help I have a really hard time remembering/wanting to drink water. I drink maybe one cup a day if I'm not working out. Any ideas/tips on how to be better at this. Im happy with myself with my eating and exercise, just need to do better with this. Wed, 20 Feb 2013 01:28:14 EST Early started Goals Just joining this challenge I am still looking over everything. However one thing I did want to share is a few of my food changes with my family that I already started (a few weeks ago).

I started using whole wheat pasta and bread instead of the normal "white" pastas and breads. With the pasta change, my kids havent noticed the difference!! Yay! As for the bread they know it is different but they dont seem to care. As long as their peanut butter or ham is on the bread they are just... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 10:36:49 EST Greetings Sparkers! Good morning everyone!! Or afternoon or evening if that be the case.
My name is Sara, and I am here to whip myself, and my family into shape! Though when you are the size of a string bean and under the ages of 7, Im not sure any shape whiping is needed....

Moving on! I am the mother to 3 amazing adorable kids, ages 6 1/2, 5, and 3. I work part time at my local YMCA's child care centers. And here is where I deserve a slap in the face. I have a free membership, I have never ste... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 10:27:59 EST Week 3 - a bigger challenge I have to be honest. The first two weeks were easy for me. My family breezed through the food challenges and turning off the TV as we already had those changes in play. Getting to the physical stuff is more problematic, which in general is my personal challenge as well.

My daughters are both in gymnastics with the older one taking dance. They run and play lots, and we send them outside whenever we can, although with it being winter that doesn't happen as much.

For the ad... Wed, 30 Jan 2013 13:41:28 EST Just saying hello! Hi! I'm new here. Just turned 40 last month. The past two years have brought me a divorce, a new career in a new city, and LOTS of extra pounds. I' used to be a dancer as a kid and up through college, but I quit after college and the weight came on quickly. I've never been slim as an adult...but the weight has really piled on the last few years due to lots of stress, bad food, and no exercise. So, as a 40th birthday gift to myself and as a gift to my nine year old son, I have vowed to g... Tue, 29 Jan 2013 11:04:30 EST New Here! New here! I'm 41, with two children ages 11 and 10. My husband has diabetes, and will be starting the pump shortly. I started my struggle with weight during infertility with my son. The drugs made me put on so much weight, and when I finally got pregnant, I gained 50 pounds during the pregnancy. I lost it all in 3 months after he was born because I wasn't eating or sleeping. After losing it, I promptly got pregnant again! I only gained 30 there, but continued to creep up until at one point I ... Tue, 22 Jan 2013 11:48:27 EST Our week 1 1/17 - Yesterday was day 1 and our tv went on the fritz so that helped quite a bit. My son was napping and he doesn't normally care if the tv is on. He normally wants to see Mickey Mouse after his naps and that is all. Anna on the other hand has more of an issue. She plops herself down on the sofa after school and doesn't get up until dinner and goes back to the sofa after. Last night the cable went crazy so she had to get down and play with the baby for a bit and since it was still down unti... Fri, 18 Jan 2013 11:51:19 EST Week 1 Well good week so far. My 9 year old would happily sit in front of the telly or computer all day but my other two boys start climbing the walls if they are stuck in for too long and then the fights start. I have been making a point of getting us all out forat least an hour of exercise and play in the morning and it has definately stopped the younger two boys fighting with each other. My 9 year old moans that he doesnt want to go out but once we are out he enjoys himself. It is good for him to... Fri, 4 Jan 2013 03:59:53 EST Hi! Hi I joined this team on Wednesday. None of my children are overweight but I know that they could be healthier than they are now.

I have four children 3 boys aged 9, 7 and 4 and a 1 year old girl.

My 9 year old is a real struggle, he just doesnt eat and it is not just veggies he wont touch it is anything, even crisps and biscu... Read a story or two at bedtime together Tue, 11 Dec 2012 09:17:27 EST Week 3 for our family At first, I was feeling like week 3 was probably the least successful so far for our family, in regards to doing activities together. I was looking at the challenge the wrong way. Then I took a closer look at the action steps, and realized we are doing a pretty good job. We took the kids to the gym with us at least 3 times this week. At our gym they have a big play area where kids can run, climb, swing and slide and our kids take full advantage. So, they get their physical activity in, while a... Mon, 3 Dec 2012 11:28:28 EST Here I Am! It's me, and I'm ready to get started. Any encouragement that you can send my way I would love it because I have a wonderful ability to start healthy challenges, but I'm even better at quitting before I hit my goals. It was one thing when it was just me, but I have a daughter now, and she's learning to eat by watching me, which is terrifying. I don't want her to struggle with her health and weight the way I always have. I've got to not only learn better habits, but I have to actually apply th... Sun, 2 Dec 2012 23:44:32 EST My introduction :) Hi everyone, my name is Shelby. My oldest is 3 years and youngest is 6 months. I'm also married, our 4 year anniversary will be in July. I honestly have no idea where to start, thats why i've put this off for so long. Tue, 27 Nov 2012 23:58:39 EST Cold weather With cold weather setting in and all what are some ideas for the whole family? Especially during the holidays? Tue, 13 Nov 2012 17:18:45 EST They are coming around Well just had to share and my husband, who constantly complains about being over weight in front of the TV eating, went to the Doctor this week and was told he has lost five pounds. He was so happy. I just stuck to measuring out dinners and give no choice on seconds and only cook healthy. If they don't like it they can do all the work. Sun, 4 Nov 2012 07:24:30 EST Family Workouts This week we decided as a family that we would all take part in the Little Rock Marathon. My husband and I will do a 5k and the boys will do the Little Rockers Marathon. For them, they are required to walk at home or in a program for 25.2 miles then on the day of the race, they walk or run the final mile there.

We will be doing this the same day so we will run then they will run. It will be a great weekend. Mon, 29 Oct 2012 13:00:16 EST how do you huddle I use my sparkpoints page for direction on what to focus on everyday. Hello Spark People!

I am new to Spark and am so excited to find this challenge!

My youngest son just started Kindergarten and has always been a big guy for his age. This past week he came home saying that a bigger kid had called him chubby on the playground. My heart broke for him....I told him that I don't think I would want to be friends with someone that called me a name. His response was....I don't think he wanted to be my friend mommy..he said it mean sounding. <... Wed, 10 Oct 2012 10:36:46 EST Treats for kids I'm new here so I hope this is an ok place for this question. My kids have been doing awesome with trying some new healthy foods and "sucking it up" when I offer more fruit instead of more ________ (fill in the blank). My question is what is reasonable when it comes to treats? I do not know what is reasonable for kids (mine are 10,6,and 3). Would it be once a week? Once a day? Once a month? I really don't know. I am working on whole foods and portion controlling as a family goal, but... Wed, 26 Sep 2012 08:42:26 EST Here with bells on! Hello, good morning!
I am so happy to have found this board. I am a single mom of three kids, Annie is 10, Obie is 6, and Lily is 3. My oldest is overweight (as am I), but has been really doing awesome in eating some of the healthy foods I've been making--I am really pleased with that because she normally likes a very bland diet and not much veggies. My other two are are healthy weights, but need a more varied diet and we all need more exercise.

I have struggled my whole ... Tue, 25 Sep 2012 06:35:07 EST Introduction I am Anna Pearl B. When we married he was still in the military and life was much more active for us. We were running (him 8, me 3) and going to the gym. It's a lot easier to go to the gym when it's two blocks from your house and free. Oh, I miss when our issue was that the gym wasn't 24 hours.

Now in the reserves and far far from his gym buddies, we work out a lot less and with less intensity. I injured myself in February so I'm not doing anymore running. The overall effect was astounding. In the pa... Sun, 19 Aug 2012 14:17:49 EST family rebelled... I attempted a family meeting, but my husband and teenage daughter were unavailable. I attempted a discussion about meal planning, but they refused to contribute healthy choices. I tried to limit screen time, but they just stayed up later to get their computer time in.. it's summer and we have no routine. am hoping to try again when school starts next week. Tue, 14 Aug 2012 10:05:26 EST Finding me time?? Hello am feeling overwhelmed and lacking a bit of energy. Need to find some time for me :) but then when 2/3 girls are at summer jumpstart at the school till 12ish I can get more done. But then end up no me time till like 10pm at night! putting my bedtime way later. Although am a night owl (really need to stop that) due to tired most of the time. Sun, 12 Aug 2012 21:46:34 EST Healthy Family Hello I am Katie a mother of 3 children (6 yr old son and 5 yr old twin girls). My goal is to have my children eating better so their day is better. I want them to be more active and i want them to eat their veggies;-) Sun, 12 Aug 2012 05:13:14 EST Apple Cutter I have a 5 year old who distrusts fruit. So I bought an apple cutter and she helps me cut an apple then we share it. We have built up to sharing two apples at a time so she now eats a whole apple a day. Yesterday I tried her with raspberries as she said she liked them. She managed one! I was frustrated but on reflection thought she had eaten one that's one more than the day before!!! Small steps : ) Sun, 12 Aug 2012 02:21:28 EST eating healthier Just trying to eat healthier, and avoid sweets and set the example for my family. Discipline is an issue with regards to convenience foods. Sat, 11 Aug 2012 18:58:35 EST Problem Twins.. 2 diff eaters My issue is My daughter eats everything and I"m having a problem cutting back on foods and she is feeling like I'm doing it to punish her. I've talked to her and explained why but she seems obsessed with food.

My son on the other hand will not eat meat unless it's a chicken nugget and a very limited on what he will eat.

I'm lost on what to do with the both of them Sat, 11 Aug 2012 18:29:46 EST starting off slow 2/3 of my family are off on a 180 mile bike ride, so I think we will start the healthy family challenge when they get back, next week. The biggest challenge will be less screen time. We are pretty active, but tend to decompress from stressfull days in front of the computer. The family meeting will be easy, we do those each week. Meal planning will be hard, they are very resistant to changing habits and traditions. Mon, 6 Aug 2012 18:46:02 EST Here I go again I'm back again (for the xxth time), trying to really do this. I have a love/hate relationship with diets. Any word where'die' is the majority part of the word can't be good. Every time I die, I end up gaining weight instead. This time I'm trying to incorporate healthy in-season (cheaper) produce. I'm a member of a local CSA so each week is like I'm on the show 'Chopped' trying to find a way to make a great meal out of what's available.

I love to cook and bake. But trying to ... Thu, 26 Jul 2012 20:00:21 EST How to get the family to leave the remote alone both my husband and I work so when we get home, we are tired and just want to relax. Mon, 16 Jul 2012 16:07:51 EST week one One week almost done. Less TV and eating at the table, especially dinner when all four of us are at home. We did really good this weekend. All meals together. Took the girls to the Y and signed them up for gymnatics, so they got to flip and roll while I walked on the treadmill. We played outside late in the evening to avoid the heat. Mon, 9 Jul 2012 11:09:16 EST tips on getting my husband involved I need help guys. I love my husband and I am worried about his health. I joined Spark, have been exercising more, doing better with what I eat, having fun outside with our girls, but I can't get him to do it. We have both gained a LOT of weight since we were married. Partly to blame for my traditional Southern-style cooking, the way my momma showed me how to cook and the fact that we eat out too often during the week. I have cut back and changes some of the ways I prepare food, but I can't ge... Thu, 5 Jul 2012 16:20:37 EST Introduction Hello everyone
I am a single mom of two kids. My weight increased due to stress and emotional eating, I originally lost my pregnancy weight. I am older now and find it so much harder to loose weight now.
I started on spark people about a month ago. I have slowly been trying to loose weight. I started with a diet change two months ago and than incorporated fitness. I was very out of shape so started with walking.
While my son was still in school I walked 5 miles every morni... Wed, 27 Jun 2012 07:20:38 EST Monthly Challenges?? I wanted to share what my family is doing and to see if anyone else wants to join for encouragment. I know I need it!
Last month my husband, my two boys (11 years and 9), and myself had a great discussion on getting healthy and helping each other. So we decided on monthly challenges to help us make better decisions. Hoping maybe some of it would stick. In May we did the Fried Food Challenge. We could eat nothing that was submerged in oil and cooked, which by the way is everything ... Mon, 4 Jun 2012 14:20:58 EST Glad to be here I am happy to have found a group with similar goals as myself. I'm looking forward to establishing my own healthy habits, so that I can help our family to become more healthy and active. SparkPeople seems to have lots of resources to help me do that. I'm excited! Mon, 28 May 2012 08:48:08 EST May 16th 2012 Just started the challenge Hi Just seeing who else is actively doing this challenge? Wed, 16 May 2012 12:47:21 EST Feeling pretty good wk1 Well, this morning I made yogurt and granola for breakfast in place of cocoa puffs. Natalie (4) took a few bites, and left the rest. I ate healthy and at least I am putting good options on the table. This may take a few mornings for her to realize I didn't get more sugar cereal and yogurt will be the new norm. On daddy's mornings she will probably get his cereal, but if she wakes up after he's gone to work she's fair game :). And I'm very happy to report that hubby said he will eat what ever ... Mon, 30 Apr 2012 15:28:24 EST Mom of four Hi there, I am a stay at home mother of four. We have a busy schedule and some days find it so hard to eat healthy and just be healthy in general. I want to be able to teach my children healthy habits now so that when they are adults they won't struggle as I have over the years. Can't wait to start Fri, 27 Apr 2012 10:48:29 EST Hello from Sunny Florida Hi everyone. Well I rejoined Spark at the end of February and I have not followed any of the wonderful advice or utilized the website at all. I am going to do this family challenge as my step-children are already very active and thin, my husband and I could take a lesson from their play book. I figure if we can do family things together it would be easier for me to stay on track.

Wishing everyone the best of luck on their journey! Tue, 24 Apr 2012 13:53:28 EST New to the group Hi everyone!

I think this group is a great idea and I'm looking forward to working together with everyone to make positive changes for my family! We are part of our local YMCA, but sometimes struggle with the right food choices. Especially quick healthy dinners when we are always on the go! If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them :-) Best wishes to everyone!

Jill Tue, 17 Apr 2012 14:45:27 EST Starting week 1 today :-) I think this a great challenge and perfect for getting support from others. We have already joined the YMCA for activities, but we need better nutritional choices to really see weight loss.
Looking forward to interacting and sharing ideas. Tue, 17 Apr 2012 14:42:51 EST Hi, I'm new! Hi there!

I'm Kate and I've joined this team because I want my whole family to be healthy, not just me.

I'm interested in health and fitness, but my husband just isn't. When he's out and about he thinks nothing of eating KFC for lunch, and because his metabolism allows him to do it without piling on the pounds, he doesn't think about the wider health implications.

I'm overweight at the moment, having been a bit lazy since giving birth to my daughter. She's 16 ... Wed, 28 Mar 2012 04:32:00 EST how do you continue? I have completed the goals for week 2 but it is not opening up week 3 for me and it has been a week, I believe. So now I have to wait to see my foot Dr. so he can tell me what I have to do. I know I was loosing weight but have to take care of my right foot since its been 2 years since I had surgery on the left foot. Anyone have any ideas on what kind of exercises I can do for now Wed, 1 Feb 2012 19:29:26 EST Week 1 fail; Week 2 win! Unfortunately we don't eat without the TV yet, or at the dining table. My fault, as I still haven't gotten the table dug out. Or it was once, but now buried again. However, we eat whole grains and lots of vegetables and fruits, so week 2 should be a snap! Shall continue to find my table, however. If we can get used to eating only at the table, we shouldn't snack so much!!! I'm just starting this business and this challenge sounded right up our alley! Both my husband and I have horrible eating habits, he's started a new 'diet' so I thought I would, too. Eating at the table sounds like a good habit to develop. Sounds silly, right? From the very start of our marriage, living in tiny apartments, we never even owned a table until we bought a house! One of the apartments we moved into when the daughter was born had a table that we used when family came to visit. It's... We had meatballs last night, which I switched to 99% lean ground turkey instead of the 93% lean ground beef. I used fat free ranch dressing as the binding ingredient, since meat that lean doesn't hold together well. I think my kids actually prefer the taste of ground turkey in these meatballs, instead of the beef. I also included diced bell pepper in the mix - I don't try to hide veggies from my kids, I tell them what... Wed, 31 Aug 2011 08:46:53 EST About me Single mom of two middle school boys. Fri, 13 May 2011 12:19:24 EST Family makeover week 1 We had our family meeting and I actually have everyone on my side!
What my girls and i agreed on is that during the day (after my am workout) when its nice outside were going to be spending time outdoors catching bugs (their idea lol)
We have also agreed to cut out their juice for flavoured water, and last we all agreed to spend one day during the weekend outside doing something fun as a family,(playing at the park, taking dogs for walk, hiking, whatever) Just spending it together out... Thu, 12 May 2011 16:22:47 EST new here I just joined this challenge because my family needs a change. We try to limit tv time and keep our children active as much as possible, but as a family, we need to start some healthier habits. Wed, 11 May 2011 21:25:29 EST My first week Week one is a little strange for me. My son already watches virtually no tv and on the rainy days I do allow him some time on his Leapster (an educational game system) but even then we read and do math workbooks and just hang out more than anything. So I guess that goal is something we've already been living.

As for a family meeting, my living situation is a bit different than what I'm used to. I really only have control over myself and my son even though we are a house hold of ... Wed, 11 May 2011 10:40:43 EST My week one I have let everyone in my family know that there are going to be some changes around here. The first rule is no snacks after 8pm. I am forgoing food after 7pm but it is getting lighter out and since my kids don't pig out like I do I just wanted to enforce the rule to make them aware that eating late is not a good thing. (My hubby couldn't care less about the rule, but he is choosing a little healthier at least)

I have added more vegetables to out meals as well and I am totally rest... Wed, 4 May 2011 08:38:49 EST Week 2! I already buy as much whole grain as I can. We just switched to brown rice, ground turkey, and turkey bacon. I am going grocery shopping tomorrow and will be loading up on fresh fruits and veggies to snack on and no chips! I usually keep apples and bananas stocked in the house but that's it. I always buy frozen veggies. I want to start buying fresh veggies and more fruit. As for making over a recipe, I am not creative in the kitchen so I'll leave that up to the hubs to figure out 30... Tue, 3 May 2011 13:10:50 EST new I want my family healthier and see this challenge as a way I can encourage my girls to be aware of what they are eating. They are already used to reading nutritional information at 6 & 8. They had a diabetic child in their class and got used to helping him out counting carbs for snack and being aware of what they brought for snack for his sake. So I took it 1 step further and made them aware of what serving sizes for their favorite snacks are.

So I am going to do what I can to... Sun, 1 May 2011 12:58:17 EST Goals For Week 1 This is my first day on SP and thought it would be great to start with a family challenge. My goals this week and here on out are to definitely reduce TV and Internet time for both myself and my kids. I have noticed that they wake up in the morning and have started asking for me to turn on the TV before they asked for their milk. I actually started keeping the TV off and turning on some music the last few days because that is just ridiculous. However, the first thing I do in the morning is tu... Tue, 26 Apr 2011 12:37:16 EST Recipe Makeover Help I am working on the recipe makeover challenge and would love some suggestions on how you go about making it healthier. What information do you look for when changing things up? Appreciate any help I can get, because most of my family passed down recipes are down south Alabama, with lots of fat and lard, or Louisiana recipes with deep fried every thing and sugar sugar sweet. Everything taste so good and it is hard to give up that feeling of home. Advice please. 4 Tue, 26 Apr 2011 11:02:28 EST My daughters idea. Easter Sunday my daughter decided instead of going out to eat we should get out the grill and go get fresh food from the store up the road.

We purchased fresh lean ground beef for burgers whole wheat buns, fresh thinly sliced cheese, corn on the cob, fresh greenbeans, and all beef hotdogs but no buns.

We came home and opened up waters and while the grilled cooked we threw the ball back and forth to practice her softball.

So, all in all we ate healthy had famil... Mon, 25 Apr 2011 10:28:07 EST Hello and God Bless Hi! I am a 34 year old Type 1 diabetic. I live in north Louisiana with my wonderful fiance', John Roy and my two always surprising teen boys, David 17 and Shane 15. I have made the choice to better our lives after a scary and almost fatal trip to the local ER and ICU. I found this SparkTeam Page and joined in hopes to find ways to get my family involved in my journey to a healthier like style. I did not raise my boys to be health conscious unfortunately but I am hoping to change their views a... Sun, 24 Apr 2011 12:52:19 EST newbie hi, everyone. this is my first day in challenge. Fri, 22 Apr 2011 21:07:10 EST Ugh I think we're going to have to spend 2 weeks on Week 2. What with my getting over strep throat, and now my son is sick, my family is just not doing well at getting active together.

Unless you count coughing... how many calories does that burn? Because we're really good at that right now.

We are doing well at the nutrional areas, though, so that's a plus! Mon, 18 Apr 2011 20:28:03 EST Fun activity idea I wanted to share an idea that my hubby and I came up with to encourage our kids to be more active. We bought pedometers for each family member. Our first goal is 1,000,000 steps as a family. Since there are 5 of us, no one may contribute more than 200,000. When we get there, we will do a fun family activity together, like rafting or horseback riding. Our next challenge after that will be to choose a city we want to visit, calculate the number of steps to walk there and back, then when w... Mon, 18 Apr 2011 20:25:42 EST Fruit Smoothies were a big hit! I used 10 oz of frozen blueberries, plus enough skim milk to make it easy to drink. Everyone loved it except the finicky 4 year old (who will come along in his own time, so I don't worry about him). It looks like fruit smoothies are going to be making their way into our daily menu. Because there's no way the 7 year old would have eaten blueberries in any other form. Sat, 16 Apr 2011 15:46:25 EST Week 1 My goal this week s to make sure that we all sit together as a family 3 times this week.
I will also find one new recipe to cook for them. Fri, 15 Apr 2011 07:34:24 EST Healthy Snack Ideas Needed..... I also wanted to mention in my last post and forgot.......

I am in dire need of healthy easy non-complicated snack ideas. Carrots and Celery only go so far in my family....LOL!
I will say we are a very on the go family so grab-N-go snack ideas would be perfect for my household.

Thank-you in advance 4
Schapp Family Fri, 15 Apr 2011 03:42:37 EST Week 1 Begins for My FaMiLy: ) Week 1 begins for my family....wish me luck: )

I am having our family meeting tonight after daughter gets home from dance. I decided to have a Make Your Own Yogurt Sundae while we talk. Plain or Vanilla yogurt w/ fresh fruit cut up to put on what you like with homemade flaxseed granola: ) We shall see I have an ice-cream loving family, this may not go over so good....LOL!
I did however put on the calender Sundays Sundae Day our 1 day to endulge as a family, go over the week a... Thu, 14 Apr 2011 12:12:04 EST Understanding the child's need for exercise I read the article included in week 3. once again I have been humbled by the fact that my 3 1/2 year has been the one guiding me to what she needs. Amazing how intuitively smart she is. Run, jump, kick. She has her own version of tag called gobble me up. I run after her as she runs in circles all over the yard and when I catch up I grab her and give her hugs and kisses (gobble her up). She is moving on to more complex age appropriate motor skills like balancing on one leg and wanting to "walk... Thu, 14 Apr 2011 06:43:11 EST honey we're killing the kids does anyone else remember the tlc show honey we're killing the kids? it was about parents whose eating habits were causing thier kids healthproblems, future health problems, etc. I feel like one those parents.
How did you get started? we went all the way through week 4 but it didnt' make a change in our lives because it was something we just had to mark off a list. We both have depression and anxiety issues and are dealing with a lot of change right now. I can not get my son excited abo... Wed, 13 Apr 2011 12:46:44 EST What I'm Loving About Week One It's the whole, schedule your daily meals thing. We always wrote out a menu for each week, but we never actually planned which meal would be on which day. So, we'd end up coming home from work, tired and confused about what to eat anyway.

Writing down the daily schedule was a big help today! On Sunday, when I was relaxed, I could look at how tough each meal was to prepare, and put the easier meals on more exhausting days.

So, when I came home today, there was no guess w... Tue, 12 Apr 2011 20:17:35 EST Week one My goals are being more active with the family, eationg more fruits and veggies, and just slowing down at meal times. We're always really busy just about everyday and usually have to chow down as fast as possible. I think maybe we need to just eat earlier and enjoy one another's company. Mon, 11 Apr 2011 10:07:29 EST 4th week better again it has been a struggle to get everybody to have 3 meals together each week. Between jobs and schools, and all the other family activities, we struggled to get 3 meals with all us us together, but we did it.

Even though we only had 3 meals with ALL of us together, we had more meals with MOST of us together. That is helping to cut down on the snacking, since we don't have people making themselves something, then seeing somebody else eating -- leading the first person to go for MORE... Sun, 10 Apr 2011 19:34:32 EST Family Meeting I had my family meeting with the kids yesterday. Dh just seemed really skeptical about the whole thing, so I opted to leave him out and hope that he follows in our footsteps. The 7 YO seemed very positive about it. The 4 YO obviously had other things on his mind, not surprisingly. But they are both looking forward to less tube-time and more family togetherness time.

And then we proceeded to have our togetherness time while watching tv in my bed because we are sick and didn't have e... Sun, 10 Apr 2011 18:40:51 EST Here I Go!! - Week One (Again) I let life get in my way again and didn't manage to finish more than a few days of week one the last time I tried. And that's ok. I can always start over again! And that's exactly what I am doing today. This is my day one of being a part of this team once more and working at making a change in my life. I want this bad enough that it doesn't matter how good or bad I do I will always come back until I get it right and make the necessary changes in my life and for the benefit of my family. Sun, 10 Apr 2011 11:32:55 EST new to all this Hi everyone my name is Donna I Have been battling my weight for the last 8 years now due to bad sleep and eating habits and medication. i am new to this I've tried different diets but never seem to get anywhere so this time i decided to do it with support and was recommended this web site by my dietician any advice or budget recipes will be gratefully received :) my aim is to loose 7 stone Wed, 6 Apr 2011 00:51:58 EST Active and Healthy Family With the weather warmer here in Minnesota it becomes easier for me and my family to get busy being active. We enjoy the dog park, nature walks, gardening. Hannah is old enough and "big enough" now to start riding a trike. I think she ca reach the pedals now.

However when winter comes a gain this will be a challenge as it is every year. Do we move to a warm climate? Probably not realistic. I think we are going to have to find money in the budget to join that Dance and Move class for... Sun, 3 Apr 2011 09:37:46 EST 1/2 Through And I love puddle hopping with the kids. I don't miss the TV. How about you? Fri, 1 Apr 2011 16:59:12 EST week one; more time for family I get up earlier than the other 2. On the weekdays I make lunch for Hannah and myself. I leave for work before Hannah is awake some days, other times it is a late start for me because I need to get Hannah to day care. I have been shutting the TV off after I catch the am news and weather.
I pick Hannah up from daycare and often times she wants to stop at the gas station for treats. We need to stop this or at least minimize it to 1 day a week.
We are leaving the TV off when we get ho... Sun, 27 Mar 2011 09:12:21 EST Joining the challenge My family consists of a 30 year old husband, a 3 1/2 year old duaghter, an myself. Oh yes, and the dog. He is a 85 pounds german sheppard mix with either lab or rot. It just clicked for me one day. I need to get this weight off. I told both my husband and my daughter about it right after being led to this site by my sister-in-law. This is a good challenge for us. Sun, 27 Mar 2011 08:50:14 EST week 2 wasn't so easy to get everybody together! hardest thing was getting family together to eat -- so many different activities pulling in all directions. We ate together when we could, but not as often as we would like.

Apart from the inability to eat many meals together, we did well. More healthy eating, less jink food around. Less snacking. Even a bit more discussion on nutrition labels! Sat, 26 Mar 2011 20:06:54 EST
