SparkPeople SP Class of May 23-29, 2010 Team Messageboard This team is for all members who joined SP from May 23-29, 2010. Welcome! SparkPeople SP Class of May 23-29, 2010 Team Messageboard Starting Again I have successfully gone from 348 pounds, down to 331. It seems like I have so far to go. But I am in this to win it. My breaking point was when the doctor started ordering all these labs to find something wrong because my BMI was so high. I passes with flying colors, hemoglobin a1c normal, lipids, cholesterol etc all good. The blood pressure was marginal but the loss of the first few pounds brought it back within normal. I have decided I want my life back, and want to maintain my health. I w... Wed, 19 Sep 2012 21:23:31 EST Not New, But Back! Sat, 5 Feb 2011 05:00:54 EST Monthly Chat for February 2011 This month has been going by really fast for me. Sorry it took so long to get this chat going. I have spent quite a bit of time working on my scrapbooking this month. I recently joined some creative teams at a site that I just learned about. Making my layouts for them has kept me pretty busy.

I guess some of the best news in my life has been that my husband and I were able to get a new washer/dryer set. I've been around for a while, but I'm super shy and haven't been able to do it so far. If it wasn't for my psychotically competitve streak and the promise of points, I probably would still be lurking. I'm MC (Mary Colleen), 28, from around Cleveland, and I've been steadily gaining weight since my dad's death 7 years ago. I know I haven't been around as much but where did everyone else go?

This past week has not been good for me as far as sticking with the plan. We live in a very tiny apartment. It is maybe 700 square feet. So we have furniture in each room that actually belongs in another room. Our computers are set up in my son's room. I felt better. I worked out a plan and it's a little tighter in the belt loops than the other one. I'm going to give it a couple of months like I gave this other one, and if it doesn't work, then I'm going to take my laptop to the doctor, sit her down and SHOW her what I've done for 2 months to get what....But I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. I hope everything is going well. :) Yesterday was a decent day for me. I walked around a store for 3 hours killing time waiting on my car to be serviced. So though it wasn't HARDCORE walking, it was CONSTANT walking. So I counted it. Also my blood pressure behaved itself last night. My heartrate though....That is pretty high. It doesn't get below 106 sitting down most of the time. Which I know is kind of high, so exercise is the best... Fri, 9 Jul 2010 08:33:06 EST SBUDDIES/Thurs Tricia, I hope that you can get your car fixed and cheaply! I DEFINITELY feel you on the heat. Kentucky isn't much better and about as humid! I would die if I didn't have any AC in my car.

Shelly, today is a new day and I'm so glad that your leg is feeling better. I'm going to work on my endurance walking with Leslie Sansone for right now, until I can get the clear to walk outside. After that then I will start working on running. Your Galloway method looks VERY similar to the C25K... Thu, 8 Jul 2010 08:52:30 EST SBUDDIES/WED Good morning ladies!

Tracy, everything alright with you son? Wed, 7 Jul 2010 03:14:17 EST Mid-year Resolutions We are just started our journey into the second half of 2010 and I'd like to know if anyone has any Mid-year resolutions.

If you are like me, the outlook for the rest of the year is much more positive that the first half has been, due in large part to a "spark" of inspiration.

My mid-year resolution is to stop shopping online, stop clicking my hard earned pennies away. I have to get myself and my lil fella all gussied up because he has to go to the health department today. It's one of his 18 month well baby check ups. Tomorrow we get to see his doctor and start his shots. I... Tue, 6 Jul 2010 08:21:00 EST SBUDDIES/MONDAY Good morning all! Our BBQ was a bust. The skies opened up at about 4 pm and it rained and hailed until 2 am. Thankfully the hail was never bigger than a pea or marble. But there is still so much water running down the street. Thankfully we live at the top of the hill. We moved everyone inside. It was a little crowded but completely managable. My BFF brought the most amazing dish, bacon wrapped waterchestnuts. I could have eaten the whole platter. My youngest daughter woke in the mid... Mon, 5 Jul 2010 08:53:25 EST 30+ freelancer trying to lose 30+ pounds Hi there, my name is Margie. Fri, 25 Jun 2010 06:38:05 EST How do I know if walking/jogging is enough? I know this sounds like a silly question, but I have been doubting myself all week. The first 3 weeks of this new journey I have been working out at the gym, a half hour on the elliptical and twenty minutes of weights 3-4 times a week. Then last week and this week I have opted for a personal trainer 2x a week for strength training and I started the Couch to 5k program which is a half hour of walking/jogging in intervals. Wed, 23 Jun 2010 07:24:55 EST How has your first month gone? Hi everyone, I figured I'd start a thread to share our experiences on our first month. I for one have had a very hard time with the scale. I have been eating well and exercising a TON, I have gone from no exercise a month ago to exercising 5-6 days each week. For all my efforts I have almost lost 4 lbs. While I am thrilled that some weight has come off, it is stunning how much work it took to get rid of them! Rome wasnt built in a day though, it took time to put it on, its going to take time ... I know I'm supposed to drink eight glasses of water a day, I've been hearing that since I was a little girl. But 64 oz. translates to 4 pounds, and it seems counter-intuitive to put four pounds of liquid in your body each day when you're trying to lose weight. Fri, 28 May 2010 12:15:37 EST The whole exercise thing I'm doing good on meal counting, great on water but I suck on exercise. I know that this is the key to start the major weight loss but can not get motivated enough to walk across the street. I need to do this, but its the worst part of this whole new journey thing! Fri, 28 May 2010 11:05:56 EST Only the beginning Hi fellow Sparkers, my name is Debra and I am from Michigan. I just joined this program in hopes of finally getting my weight under control and get myself healthy. Like many of you I have tried almost every diet known to man, some with temporary success, but I need something new to help me obtain permanent success. I look forward to being a loser with you all. Fri, 28 May 2010 09:42:17 EST I'm terrible about drinking water I know I should be drinking more. I carry a water bottle around with me everywhere. But I think its more like carrying a weight with me all day because I don't actually drink it. Its not that I don't like water, I do. I prefer it over anything else or than coffee. I'm drinking maybe 30-40 oz a day, and that includes the water I use for my protein drinks. What can I do to get myself to drink more? Fri, 28 May 2010 09:19:17 EST Sbuddies/Friday Good morning! How is everyone this morning?

I got up at 5:15 this morning to hit the pavement. I did alright. It was nice going out without the stroller. I should do it more often. Just got to convince my body that 5:15 is a good time. lol I got on the scale and have lost 2 more lbs. That makes me very very happy. Its slow but steady so I'm not going to complain. I decided a few weeks ago that I am serious about losing weight. It took me a long long long time to get to this mindset and I am willing to do anything to stay with it. I'm naturally a shy person, so posting to anything is going against my natural tendencies. So I'm trying to prove to myself that I'm serious by fighting the urge to NOT post and hide in my hole. Hope everyone is doing great on this beautiful day. Wed, 26 May 2010 13:57:43 EST OutdoorMomma Hello all, Just wanted to say hi and that I hope the board is source of inspiration and accountability! Just curious as to what is the motivation behind everyone's weight loss? Mine is that the first three years of college I've let myself go and have gained some weight and pants sizes. Mon, 24 May 2010 00:47:53 EST New to spark Hi, I'm Sarah looking for a fit and healthy lifestyle Mon, 24 May 2010 00:34:57 EST New to spark Hi, I'm Sarah looking for a fit and healthy lifestyle Mon, 24 May 2010 00:32:58 EST first day i set a goal today. I used to set goals that were ridiculous.
