SparkPeople SP Class of March 7-13, 2010 Team Messageboard This team is for all members who joined SP from March 7-13, 2010. Welcome! SparkPeople SP Class of March 7-13, 2010 Team Messageboard 3rd Time's a Charm! I'm a 30-something wife & mother of 2 boys. When I first started with SP, my only goal was to see the #s on the scale go down. Needless to say, that only lasted about a week.

In 2012, I had an emergency appendectomy which led to 2 more surgeries over the next year & a half. The appendectomy led to the discovery of a ruptured ovarian cyst, followed by surgery to remove another cyst in which it was discovered I had a severe case of endometriosis and one of my ovaries and tubes w... Tue, 1 Apr 2014 12:20:52 EST 51 year old with a final hurdle Hello! I am a healthy lady who works out hard 3 days a week but can't get the scale to move. I am 5'3" and weigh 168. I am about the same weight as I was before I started working out 2 years ago. I was down to 153 but have gone back up. I log my food and realize I eat too much at night but my caloric intake is 1500 per day usually. I hate not beating this. I am determined to conquer this. Help Tue, 14 Aug 2012 22:16:08 EST CLASS REUNION!! Where are they now? Hey guys!

I was just curious as to how everyone was doing. I joined SP on March 7, 2010 and my life has forever changed. I am *still* about 15 pounds from my goal weight, but that doesn't even matter as much anymore. I feel thankful to have been able to meet such supportive people. I couldn't have gotten so far in my journey without you.

I have lost over 60 pounds and *counts on fingers* FIVE dress/jeans sizes... I have gained a love for running and lifting and anyth... Mon, 10 Oct 2011 22:24:54 EST Absent Leader I am re-introducing myself to the team today. I don't remember the last time I was on SparkPeople in a serious way. I would click in here and there but I have not been really working the program for months. The scale shows it but more importantly my attitude shows it. I don't feel good about what I'm eating. I don't like how I look and feel about myself as a result. I am becoming more and more critical of my appearance and connecting my self-worth to my appearance more and more. I feel... Mon, 19 Sep 2011 13:12:47 EST Hi, I'm happy to be here. I have gained 100lbs now in 12 years. I am ready to lose it now. I hope I can find a lot of tools and motivation here to help me on my way. I know it's an uphill battle, but it is one I have to win. Tue, 3 May 2011 01:03:36 EST Looking for tips and encouragement! I recently moved to Las Vegas and as many can imagine, image is huge here. He eats a lot of sugar and has a lot of bad eating habits. So today I posted on the refrigerator a family challenge. Challenging each of us to do at least 20 minutes of exercise this week. I put a grid for us to write it down and promised a smoothie to everyone who accomplishes it. So far Josh doesn't seem that interested but my plan is to post a challenge each week and see if I can't get him into it. For me it's been accepting this as a lifesyle and working with what I think I can continue doing. For instance, I could lose weight faster if I dropped to 1500 calories, but am willing to accept a slower loss since 1500 makes me feel deprived. I have set my goal for 1500 but allow myself to do 1500 to 1800 depending on how hungry I am that day. I lose less than weekly but I lose. Mon, 29 Mar 2010 07:04:57 EST Temporary cravings: how do you get over them? I always always always crave junk food when I'm in front of the TV by myself. I don't know why... perhaps it's because when I was little I used to receive my 'treat' for the day (a small chocolate or bag of chips) in front of the TV, so now I have that association to get over.

Nevertheless, how can I stop these cravings? I've reduced the amount of TV I watch, and I try to only watch TV with someone around me (a sort of culinary Panoptican) but that doesn't really deal with the habi... Also...seems the weight is coming on quicker than before. So my goal is to lose these ten pounds and maybe another 10. I am starting with the first 10 and will go from there. I cook most nights so there's not a lot of fast food and I don't buy sodas at all. But being from the south we love our fried chicken and pretty much fry anything. ...
