SparkPeople SP Class of February 21-27, 2010 Team Messageboard Post here for March 2017 March 2017 Sat, 25 Mar 2017 19:04:31 EST Still trying August 2014 Been on and off with Spark People, cannot believe ALL the ads! Looks odd. Spark people still has the best community though! I've not gained back lost weight, well maybe 10 pounds but that's gone, I've been trying to create a way of healthy eating and exercise I can live with. Its not easy, but I'm getting there. For me I need to track my food. If I track it i can't wonder why I'm not losing, I can see it. Next is portion control. Another big deal for me, I will eat massive portions. I've lear... Thu, 28 Aug 2014 09:28:28 EST Anybody Still Here in 2014 Hi all, I'm still here. I wasn't active for several months but have returned. Anyone still on SP? Fri, 21 Feb 2014 09:53:56 EST 2013 Still Here? Hey class of 2013 who is still active on Spark People? Sun, 15 Sep 2013 09:22:06 EST **November** Time just goes by way to fast!
I hope our East Coast Sparkers up in Jersey and thereabouts made it through the storm OK.
I've been super busy getting my online selling going. I'm almost to the point where all the fees are being paid for by the stuff I'm selling. Its not easy!
Still trying to make good choices every day. The other day in Publix they had Tasty cakes, buy one get one free. I grabbed 2 boxes. Then half way through the store exchanged them for buy one get one free o... Thu, 8 Nov 2012 09:34:53 EST **October** Hey hope everyone is doing well! My summer was a confusing mess somewhat. My mother-in-law passed away July 18th after a two year battle with lung cancer. She passed surrounded by her family, fighting to the last second. I spent from the 12th of July to August 15th in Clearwater at the hospital and then doing the funeral stuff, then cleaning out her apartment. Then I came home and got my online bookstore online. Really crazy busy. Eating is good, exercise is not, just walking the dog, no othe... Sat, 13 Oct 2012 09:43:20 EST My inspiration - I'm running to fight AIDS Hello everyone,
If you're reading this message, thank you. I've always struggled with my weight and I think that I figured out what is going on. I lack the conviction and the purpose. As a personal challenge, I am focused on training very hard for a 10K race at the end of September to try to raise money for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. I've completed my longest run two days ago and am feeling so pumped. If you are interested in helping the cause, please follow the link. Any bit will ... Mon, 13 Aug 2012 14:51:36 EST *Post here for August* Sorry a bit late here. My MIL was in the hospital in Clearwater which is 95 miles away from our house, and I had to go. She passed on 7/18 and I had to stay and do the funeral and help my SIL clear out the Senior apartment she was living in.

She had stage 4 lung cancer so it was not a shock that she went, it was just she had been doing so well, then it just went down hill in like two weeks.

God was good in arranging things because my husband and son had work in Clearwa... I've lost 40, and it took about two years to do this. I am wanting to lose 50 more. I am losing, still getting regular exercise, still tracking my food (mostly) but my weight is staying put and my clothing size is decreasing. Its really odd. I'm not complaining about going into smaller sizes LOL
I can't seem to keep that manic intensity needed to do a huge weight loss th... Here in Florida we barley had a Winter this year. I'm doing great with exercise. Found a fantastic App for my iPhone called Zombies Run! Its so fun and it actually makes me want to get out and do some mileage to play the game. My eating is great also. Been making a lot of drinks with Kale and veggies & fruit. I notice an increase in energy when I drink one every day.

223 Mon, 2 Apr 2012 06:07:59 EST ** POST HERE for MARCH** Actually got it up the 1st!
244

Things are going great, still Sparking every day
Still losing
Still walking! Thu, 1 Mar 2012 09:35:09 EST *Post here for February* WOW it's our two year anniversary coming up! It can't believe its been that long! I'm still not at my goal of 140 but I'm slowly moving forward, not backwards or stuck, just slow. I don't know how people can drop 80 or more pounds in a year. I just can't limit my calories that low and stick with it. I'm just trekking along, getting in my walking of 4 to 6 miles every other day.
I really think my body was messed up from YEARS of yo-yo dieting, and really BAD dieting.

I've lost... Sun, 12 Feb 2012 08:48:05 EST **POST HERE FOR JANUARY 2012** Better late then never right? I've had a busy end of the year. I found a great senior place for my mom, moving her was a joy :P But finally after two years she is out! Everyone is quit happy here.
I've been doing great with my exercise, doing about 5 miles a day with my walking/jogging. I slacked off over the summer with exercise, really picked it up in September. Finally admitted to myself there is no weight loss, no healthy body without regular exercise. I am stuck in the 190's. My clothing size has changed a lot, went from an 18 to a 10 in pants, shirts are down to a large or medium but my weight is not budging. It's weird but I don't let the scale bother me, I'm sure my body is totally confused a... Thu, 1 Dec 2011 11:55:53 EST **POST HERE FOR NOVEMBER** It seems to me the older I get, the faster the months go past!
I had a good October weight wise. I kicked butt on exercise. I only do walking with some slow jogging. I've upped my calories burned a week to 3000 and I dropped about 10 pounds last month. I'm not sure of the exact weight because I discovered my home scale is way off so I'm basing things by the doctors scale and Publix scale. I'm tired of futsing around. I know reaching my goal weight does not mean I'm "done". I know I will ... I'm back, I hope. I've been on hiatus for a while trying to close down a business and get myself moved from Tampa to Birmingham. That phase of my life is about complete. Just a few loose ends down in Tampa to tie up. So here I am now living in Birmingham, Al. I've not been very careful with my diet and exercise during the move so I've gained a few unwanted pounds but I'm still wearing the same size pants so that's good. I've also been absent from SP for a while so now that things are be... Fri, 1 Jul 2011 07:48:53 EST **POST HERE FOR JUNE** I hope everyone had a great May health wise! I've had a great year! Thank God for good friends, family, and great people. I lost 30 pounds, but gained most of it back. So in that regards, not so great. I really don't understand why I went back. I feel better, have more energy, self confidence, more clothes, and so much more when I Spark, but here I am again.

It feels kinda like New Years. I am 38, work full time and have 3 wonderful children ages 18, 11 (girls) and 4 mos (boy). Quite a range; I know. Anyway, since have baby number 3 and rapidly approaching 40 I feel like I should actually do something about losing that last 15 lbs instead of just talking about it for the past 15 or so years! I followed a link to a particular SparkPage today from WarriorWoman and she had a FANTASTIC idea of making a necklace where each of the beads represented a pound of weight loss with prettier beads put in for each 5 and 10 pounds lost. I am definitely going to start one of my own but wondered what other motivation gems people had found or had started themselves. I'm really excited to hear what everyone says! I'd love to hear your favorite motivational quotes as well :) Sat, 20 Mar 2010 10:29:06 EST October10bride I am very new to this site. Hi everyone,

I signed up a couple of days ago to SparkPeople because I'm already overweight, but have piled on the pounds while back visiting my parents in Canada. I've decided I'll try to spend this last week of vacation curbing my "see-food" diet and getting to know the Spark website a bit better. Then when I'm back home (that`s Great Britain for now... Tue, 23 Feb 2010 23:47:47 EST Hi I'm Rhonda and I'm fed-up. As I mentioned, I am a beautiful, out-going young black woman, who has gained a few pounds over the years. I have gone through a divorce and put my kids first. Well, it's my time - I'm taking my life and my health back!! I am looking for others to be a part of this journey with me. I don't know if I can do it all by myself. I want to touch lives and want others to touch my life.

Help me find a way to get back to the motivated, confident, outgoing person I used to be.
... I am an assistant principal at a big high school and I need to do this. I look terrible and limp through the end of the day. I know I can be healthier and I know I can make my kids healthier. Tue, 23 Feb 2010 23:07:45 EST Hi! New and trying to figure things out Hi everyone! Like the title says, I'm new to the site. I'm a stay at home mommy to 2. It's hard for me to get to the gym because they don't do well in a daycare setting yet, and I have no baby sitter here.

So, here I am! Tue, 23 Feb 2010 22:26:53 EST Hey Everyone! Hey everyone! Just thought I'd introduce myself and am very excited about changing my lifestyle - permanently. In the past 3 months or so I've lost a little over 20 lbs, but I am afraid of putting some of it back on instead of losing another 25 to 30. That's when I did some research and found this site. I'm very excited and look fo... Tue, 23 Feb 2010 22:18:26 EST Angie Tidwell Hello everyone my name is Angie, you can call me Anj if you like. Tue, 23 Feb 2010 20:22:32 EST Hey there! So I have decided to give sparkpeople another go. I was following the program as best I could, but it just wasn't enough on my part and I failed. So after getting rid of my profile months ago, I have decided to start anew. Hopefully this time I will stay long enough to see some results! I look forward to starting all over again with you!
