Wed, 3 May 2017 15:20:04 EST Art Forger Mark Landis One of my favorite hobbies is to read both fiction and non-fiction books about art. In addition to enjoying the many "how-to" books about arts and crafts, lately I've been especially intrigued with books about art thefts and art forgeries.

Last night I watched one of the most interesting documentaries I've seen in a long time, and the story has occupied my thoughts many times today. The film "Art and Craft" aired on our local PBS channel on the POV (Point of View) series, and it's ... Who is the artist? What drew you to that particular work of art? Where did you find it? How long have you had it? Did you buy it, inherit it, or was it a... Sat, 13 Oct 2012 13:40:36 EST Hello Hello Hello! Just recently joined up and immediately went on a search for Historian/Art Historians. Mon, 10 Sep 2012 18:40:47 EST Hello, I'm a new member of the team... Hello Art Historians,

I'm new to SP and new to the team. Is this team still active? I hope so, but I'm not too sure.

I'm an American living in the UK. I studied Art History and Fine Art in college, so I've got a BFA in painting, and a BA in Art History. Tue, 10 Jul 2012 14:10:48 EST Art Trivia What little bit of trivia about art, artists, museums, etc. have you learned or read about lately? Sun, 23 Oct 2011 13:28:21 EST Links to museums I was a microbiologist who took a 101 level art history course back in the 60's to fulfill a humanities requirement, and I enjoyed it very much. You can see that I am not in the same ballpark as everyone on this team who are or will be professionals. However, I do enjoy making art and am especially fond of 17th century Dutch artists. The online links to museums now available on the internet are excellent connections for people like me who will never travel to see these wonders in person. C... I feel like a whoohoo should follow that statement. Anyway I wanted to introduce my self to the team. I have a huge appreciation for art, BA undergrad in Art History, six credits shy of a masters (focus on WPA art). I found I really don't want to work with artists and I'm really more interested in history, more specifically material culture. So now I'm doing an MBA and will sort it out later. I do a bit of volunteer work and really enjoy living in the artsy city of New Orleans.
<... Tue, 4 Jan 2011 12:48:24 EST TEAM LEADERS?? I guess I don't really have an opinion but many people are torn about this topic. I would say yes... but not in the traditional way we revere art. Art is just a personal expression, sometimes thoughts are best said through simplicity, IE minimalism. I don't love looking at a red canvas or a yellow block of wood but if the point of the piece is to say "there is no point" than that in itself is an expression though the means of art.
