I started my journey in June 2009 at 234#. This morning I'm proud to say I weighed in at 163.8. I started by joining the gym and hiring a trainer. I am more active than ever and while the rest of the weight I want to lose may not be falling off of me, I am feeling my best yet. I am working toward the goal of having a healthy relationship with food/exercise, ... Wed, 16 Mar 2011 14:51:00 EST Heya! Hi, I'm new to the team though not new to Spark. Sat, 17 Apr 2010 12:56:56 EST Motivational Quote of the Day "It is time to make the time." - Henry Dumas

Time is selfish. If you ignore it, it turns its back on you... not giving you the time of day. But if you plan for it, pay attention to it, and respect it, it happily gives you all the hours and minutes you need. There is more than enough time to get healthy and live exceptionally. You simply must make the time. Tue, 23 Mar 2010 14:53:34 EST Onesha I started my Sparkpeople page back in 2008. At that time I planned to get a lapband. The one thing that I think has really made a difference this time is journaling. I have never been that good at recording my food and Sparkpeople has made that alot easier to keep up with. I have been exercising over the years, but I am really trying to step it up this time. Over 50 and its time to take control of my health. This program may be what I need to get it right this time. Any helpful hints?? Mon, 22 Mar 2010 17:45:47 EST ab workout question Does anyone know why when I do ab workouts be it crunches or sit-ups I get tremendous pain in the sternum? I am not talking about workout muscle pain, its more like my chest and sides feel like a wash cloth being wringed and it can cause difficulty in breathing. Because of this I have backed off any ab workouts. Fri, 19 Mar 2010 21:50:05 EST Chores = burning calories I just walked around the grocery store for 40 minutes. I want to say I excersized. Tue, 16 Mar 2010 20:27:43 EST New to Group Hi there! I've been on Spark for a couple months now, but just decided to search out newn groups that could keep me motivated. This one seems to be right up my alley. I know that I need to have fun and stay away from feeling bored if I'm to keep on track. I have never liked exercise, except yoga. I hardly count that, because I don't like the forms that feel like a workout. But I keep hearing that it's so important to find a physical activity that you truly enjoy, so I'm working on that. Hopef... Mon, 15 Mar 2010 14:36:56 EST Hi all! I'm a new Sparkie, been on the site about a week. I've tried to lose weight for years but only gained. Tue, 9 Mar 2010 23:03:16 EST A new approach Hello fellow sparkers. My name is MissValerie. I have been on sparkpeople for a little under a year now and have really been struggling with my weight loss, consistency and finding a way to get exercise in every day. Something always comes up. Too many hours at the office, too much snow, too little sleep you name it I seem to be finding an excuse these days. Not something I am usually known for so hopefully I can find some tips here to help me find my way back to enjoying my exercise. Fri, 26 Feb 2010 13:59:32 EST Hi I'm Tracy Hello my name is Tracy. I'm new to jogging. I've had a treadmill for a while but have been a walker. Recently I decided to step it up a notch and jog. I've been mentally able to get over that wall that you hit, but I seem to get this phelmy feeling in the back of my throat. I don't mean to sound gross, but I was wondering if this happens to anyone else and what you might do to get past it. I've tried clearing my throat and drinking water, but nothing seems to help. No more forced visits to the gym which I hate and resent (and will find any excuse to avoid). So last night I tried "bouldering" which is indoor rock climbing in cave-like areas. It was FUN! It will definitely build upper-body strength (I suck!) but I felt like a kid at a playground just climbing and not thinking about calories or how many more minutes I would need to spend there...
Next up is indoor tra... I need to lose the weight because it one of the causes for my high blood pressure. I am only 29 and would like to be in shape. So I appreciate any help everyone can give me. Wed, 30 Dec 2009 11:33:17 EST Starting over, again. Hey! I'm Renee and I have been a spark member since Feb 2008. I have had a love hate relationship with my weight loss journey. I recently stepped on the scale and realized I had gained back 13 pounds of the 31 I worked so hard to lose. So now I am starting over again!!

I love this site because there is so much to keep you involved - now I just have to keep myself doing it!! Wed, 30 Dec 2009 10:55:17 EST Hi from Omaha! So, technically I've been a Sparkgirl for over a year... but I kind of stopped logging on a while ago! But I'm back! Anyway, I need to be more active... exercise regularly. For about two years I've been taking belly dancing classes and over the past few months I've decided that I really want to start practicing more than once a week. It's just so hard to get motivated to go downstairs and do it! It's so fun!... it's just so hard to get off my recliner! Wed, 30 Dec 2009 10:52:03 EST I'm still here My name is Deidre and I've been with SP since Jan. 5, 09. I don't have much time to utilize the many SP tools, etc. but with the education I've received through the various daily emails on nutrition & exercise, I've been able to drop 36 pounds, get my cholesterol & glucose & BMI ALL in the "low-risk" catagory this year! I so enjoy sleeping better and feeling better. I do hope to reach my goal of just 10 more lbs to get in the middle of my BMI range. Wed, 30 Dec 2009 10:13:33 EST New Member Hi everyone, I am new to this SP page - a little about me: I'm from Fl and do the Curves circuit, walk the neighborhood, treadmill, dance dvd and Leslie Sansone dvds. I prefer exercising with a friend but will do it alone too. I need to get started again with my routine, got out of the swing through the holidays. Happy New Year 409 410 410 Wed, 30 Dec 2009 09:32:20 EST Today is a new day! Morning fellow sparkers. Today is a new day!! My name is Fran and I am on a personal mission to lose 35 pounds. I have managed at times to get within 15 pounds of my goal :150 pounds, but then things happen, illness, travel, injury and here I am again. I live on a farm in the middle of no where, so getting to the gym is a bit of a trial - you would think that there is enough exercise to do around here but apparently not!! So I am looking for motivation!! Wed, 30 Dec 2009 09:21:35 EST Happy New Year to all! Hello team! Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Kori and I am interested in being more consistent and staying motivated. I enjoy working out, but I have to do it real earlier before work and that can be hard to do. Need to stay focused and get it done in the A.M. Hope all of you are doing well! My name is Peggie and through a Best of Spark e-mail this morning, I heard of this team. I would like to join you. Although I would like to lose some weight, my main concern is fitness. In past years I've worked on my diet (to some degree), but essentially neglected exercise. It shows. I love to walk, ride my bike, and use exercise games on the Wii. All these things take a back seat, however, during the school year as I am a teacher. I am hoping this team will help me stay active th... Wed, 30 Dec 2009 07:05:56 EST Good grief: I'm there again! Hi everyone,

My name is MaryLouise and here I am at 57 years old with the same old problem I've had almost all my adult life: over height (20 pounds or so), no exercice (I hate exercice), no motivation (I can't stick to it)... but now add to all this new health problems that were just diagnosed: high blood pressure for one. Good grief! I can imagine some of you reading this post and saying: what's her problem!? All she's got to do is DO IT. Take those 20 pounds off and do 30 minute... Wrinkles for example: unless you have some kind of miracle happening, you are going to get some, same with weight, it just happens. you start out young with a clear face and a slim, trim bod then all of a sudden you get huge! For no good reason!! along with t...
