When I started I was at my highest weight of 175 and lost 25 pounds on Spark. Things happen, as they do, and I have gained 8 of those pounds back. Scary when I started thinking about it because I still didn't even make it to my goal weight yet. So here I am again. I look forward to all the pounds we are going to lose together!!! :) Tue, 17 Mar 2015 14:38:26 EST Mason Jar Salad This idea was in one of the newsletters I get. I have been with SparkPeople since 2004 or 2005, but deactivated my account once I reached my goals only to have fallen back on old habits and picking up some new ones along the way, so I came back a couple years ago only to leave abruptly again because I was juggling too much. I was homeschooling my youngest, going to college full time and working three jobs, so naturally sacrifices had to be made and taking care of myself took a back burner to the needs of my family. ... But after I graduated in 2010 that went by the wayside. I had to relocate several times, and my job (hospice social worker) has me on the road all the time. So I got into the habit of grabbing something to eat at Sonic or Tastee Freeze, both of whom have foods guaranteed to pack on the pounds. I have gone from 162 to my current weight of 211. If I stop tracking that day, I usually don't start up again. My mindset is "the day won't be accurate so what's the point?"

How do you handle this problem? Wed, 26 Jun 2013 17:04:23 EST Team Goals Don't forget to join in on some of the Team Goals at the bottom of the main team page!

We're doing great progressing through them all, looking today! Way to go TEAM!

Let's get a few more on each goal, so that we can RAISE THE BAR for all of us!

386 381 Sat, 15 Jun 2013 14:03:49 EST It's the start of June... What a great time to do a challenge. I signed up for the 28 Day Boot Camp. I've done this before and with my newfound commitment, this is just what I need to kick start good habits.

Matt Sat, 1 Jun 2013 13:40:01 EST got sidelined by an injury, starting again I joined in late January and was feeling great about exercise and losing a few pounds. Things were going super until I got injured at the end of March, had surgery, and spent quite a few weeks unable to move very much, and all my routines got disrupted. Chaos and inactivity are not my friends. I regained those pounds. I've been trying to move as much as I'm able, and am finally returning to some of my former schedules and routines. Fri, 31 May 2013 13:22:28 EST Helping a friend So my bff has always been overweight and I've never been one to force the subject of health with her. Recently however she's been diagnosed with high blood pressure, she's broken a chair (literally), and it's obvious that she has gained weight. Even her hubby has said "no offense but you need to get back to the gym." BUT with all this she's still making excuses and doesn't want to face the facts. I REALLY want to have a serious conversation about this with her but I don't know how to bro... Thu, 30 May 2013 11:14:51 EST Back in the game Been here, done that before. I see that SP is still trying to kill me: 4100-4500 calories? Are they insane?! And 500g+ of carbohydrates? Madness....

Anyways-back on a part-time basis to manage my old team, and to keep track of some meals, and that's about it. Beating myself to death in training has never been a problem-getting meal prep done has. So squaring away the nutrition, picking up the heavy things, and jumping back in the game. Sounds like a Monday... Tue, 28 May 2013 04:06:32 EST not new to Sparkpeople, starting up again I think I may have posted my welcome message to the wrong board earlier. oops. Hi, everyone! :) I'm a music teacher, and mom of a tweenager with Cystic Fibrosis. I'm trying to keep my eating in check, and need to boost up my workouts. I have been stress eating a lot this past year, after losing my dad to cancer, and with a lot of new changes in my job. And, I have 25 extra pounds that I have gained since last August, to show for it. I gained ten last summer. I'm 35 pounds up total, but I'm de... I joined because well, I am restarting my journey like many people. I had an old screen name but I simply needed that fresh start so I ended up getting a new screen name. It is way too easy to get overwhelmed and throw in the towel. I've just decided that giving up is no longer an option. I'm going to keep trying, taking small steps and doing my best. I've been around the block so many times with the whole weight loss thing that I've become super discouraged. Long story short - last year I lost 50 lbs! I've gained by 15. In the meantime, my mom and sister have lost over 80 lbs and my sister is becoming a leader with Weight Watchers because of her amazing success. While I'm happy for them, I feel like such a failure in comparison. I am now the "fat one" in the family. They get to pass their "fat clothes" to me and I can't even wear them. Di... Fri, 22 Feb 2013 09:21:16 EST Daily Challenge! As you know, it is recommended that you exercise at least 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week. So this challenge will introduce daily challenges for exercise to add into your workouts (or give you a workout if you do not regularly exercise). Tue, 19 Feb 2013 02:01:07 EST Struggling I know that this works, and yet, I cannot get motivated this time around. Working this night shift is impossible to work out a system for success. When I get home from work, I'm beat and collapse into bed... no exercise...

I am drinking most of my water while at work, but even eating on a regular basis is impossible. Sat, 9 Feb 2013 21:48:07 EST Relighting the Spark (again) Hi everyone. My name is Jennifer and I believe I originally found SparkPeople some time around 2010. This Web site has changed my life so much in so many ways, and even when I take a break from SparkPeople I find that things that I learned here or habits I formed help me. After having a baby in March 2012, I'm now back to re-light my Spark so we can be a happy and healthy family! Thu, 24 Jan 2013 17:32:10 EST Let's just say my start date isn't really right Hi Everyone:
I wanted to introduce myself to this great team. I am back to Spark People after a very long break. I'm looking forward to committing myself to the program and getting this weight off. I know its all about changing my lifestyle and I'm ready to do it. When I think of the amount of weight I need to lose I want to cry but crying isn't going to get it off.
Michelle Mon, 21 Jan 2013 16:47:39 EST Checking In I have been following the food plan but not exercising until today. I bought a used treadmill and LOVE it. I'm hoping more regular exercise will help boost the weight loss along. In my defense, its -46 here today with the wind chill!!! I was really happy today with walking 3 miles in 52 minutes. Hello everyone,

At this forum we have all been here before. So, my question is "What are you going to do differently this time"?

Speaking for myself- this time I have clarified my goals. My short term goal is to do a five day super clean eating jump start, medium goal is 30 days with 10 minutes of exercise and of course my big goal is to get to my goal weight.
I have been reading an article a day to stay focused.
I hope posting on the boards and connecting with... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 22:14:27 EST This is it!!! I have been a "SPARKPEOPLE" member for the pat 5 years, I love the site, but I haven't been very committed. Happy Friday! :) Hope we all continue to make the healthy choices that will lead us closer to our goals ! Fri, 14 Dec 2012 08:47:31 EST Pretty dead in here, huh? Not much going on in this team's forum! It's a great idea, though. I thought joining this team would help me get back on track, but I did that all by myself anyway. Still nervous about losing momentum at some point in the future, but I guess as long as it's not today, I don't need to worry about it, right? Feeling pretty "sparked up" for the past few days anyway, so maybe it's the intent behind joining the team that is what counts! Tue, 11 Dec 2012 21:07:25 EST Starting over... and over, and over! Fall down 7 times, get up 8, right?

I just joined this team, I've been poking at starting back on spark for a few weeks now, but I've barely gotten past spinning the wheel and tracking breakfast most days! Very frustrated with myself, I've hit a record high on the scale for at least the past month, I've been gaining instead of losing since August maybe? Not too sure.

The pity party needs to end, and I need to get back to making some healthier choices!! I feel like crap... That didn't work, so I am back and loving it. Hope everyone does well tonight with the Super Bowl. Don't want to be regretting anything tomorrow. Have a Great Day! Sun, 5 Feb 2012 10:34:17 EST 6 months away - back to stay more healthy I was only a member for three month, or was it two, went on vacation and got into a health down spiral. But as I Jan 1 I rejoined and want to make this work. I enjoy feeling healthier, doing more and watching the pounds come off. I enjoy reading and learning on this sight and seeing others also succeed. I want to make this work. Sun, 22 Jan 2012 15:30:03 EST Hi! Hello, I'm Beth, 43 years old, married w/a ten year old son.

I am 'starting over' again, and need help!! Well, this time, my 10 year old is 'on board' with me, but the hubby...not so much. Our son, Jake, is doing AWESOME with his weight loss, though, which is encouraging me.

My biggest obstacles are fast food and chocolate. Snacks as well, I want to eat a LOT.

I 'started over' on 01/03/11. I did have a weight loss of about 20 pounds, but gained that back from ... Tue, 17 Jan 2012 14:35:57 EST So is everyone loving 2012! I hope everyone is excited about the new year! I am so ready to get the rest of this weight off and move into maintenance phase. If I can help any of you in anyway...please let me know.

Stacey

YOU ARE WORTH IT...YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! Tue, 3 Jan 2012 21:44:33 EST I'm back with a few extra pounds Have a great day all. I've finally decided this is it. My husband and I are both doing South beach and tracking our food. It's helps to have a buddy in the house. Plus... I want to do better than him.. :) Tue, 3 Jan 2012 08:33:34 EST Starting over I am at my wits end. These last couple of years have been tough and I need to get out of the fog. I am currently at my fattest, I feel horrible, and I am depressed. I sound like a candidate for the Dr. Phil show!! The thing is, that this is not the real me...I lost the real me awhile back, and I miss me...sounds crazy I know. Gotta make some changes. Fri, 16 Dec 2011 08:36:51 EST Trying once more Hi all, my name is Beth and I have been with SP for several years. I weigh more now then I did when I first started. I have lost my way many time, this time was for a while. I need to get back to wanting this. I need motivation and I need support. I have a hard time remembering to come to SP on the weekends but I think that would help me be able to stay on track more. Wed, 7 Dec 2011 18:14:30 EST Back to try again I joined a couple of years ago and did not much. Now I really want to try my hardest to get healthy and I know that exercise is a big part of it. My problem is not much motivation. So HELP if you can. Doing it alone doesn't work for me. I have no one to talk to and no one to encourage me, so I do great for a week or two then stop and give up. Anyone who can give me encouragement is greatly appreciated. Sat, 26 Nov 2011 10:56:39 EST Overworked and Overweight Hi there. I joined SparkPeople back in January. My partner had decided to get all into fitness/weight loss and guilted me into joining him, and I just kept going when he sprained his ankle and couldn't fitness walk anymore. By April, I was down about ten pounds... but then I got hired at a second part time job. Part time quickly exploded into what amounted to full time with no increase in pay, my first job took a seasonal hiatus and the second one cut my hours, and so I spent April through Se... Mon, 21 Nov 2011 13:55:03 EST Kindling the fire... Back after a 2 year layoff. Jumped up 60lbs once I stopped tracking meals, and wasn't as active-oddly enough was more active as a security officer than as a fire-rescue medic...go figure. Anyway, looking to drop serious weight to enlist and compete in the April 2012 Tough Mudder...need to drop about 150lbs all told, but if I can drop 100 by late April, I'll be stoked. Need to get back to burning over 9000cal/day...between weightlifting, crossfit, martial arts, swimming, and working as a black... Wed, 9 Nov 2011 00:38:46 EST back again Gone for quite a while. Got lazy and fat...Really stressed at work, working 50 hrs a week on the second shift and teaching one day a week. So, I gave up on me and decided sleep was better than anything. My house is a disaster. My hubby is gaining weight..We are eating a lot of take out. Time to get back on track...DAY 1 Fri, 4 Nov 2011 05:59:45 EST Back again. I joined sparks 12/31/10. I was doing okay until May 2011. I quit exercising, watching what I ate. I've been back a month now. I really want to stick with it. I need to lose a lot of weight. I came across this team the other day and I was looking at it and what caught my eye was your buddy system. I need a one on one buddy to talk with and compare notes with. Someone to compete with. This website is great for keeping track of your fitness and food but in the other teams everyone has ... Thu, 3 Nov 2011 00:47:34 EST I've been on Sparkpeople since 2005! 2005! And my ticker has barely moved. I'm embarrassed and ashamed. I need to get serious and lose this extra weight - and keep it off.

2

I'm Debbie, 44 - Mom to 2 girls (13 & 10) I should be a better role model - I want to change that!

Hope to get to know you all better here. Wed, 26 Oct 2011 07:15:49 EST Challenge 10/24--10/31 Track what you eat this week. This can be here on the Sparkpeople nutritional page(& earn sparkpoints) or if it is better for you...write it down. Post a 248 if you keep track. If you stay within your calories a 244

This is not exactly my favorite thing to do...but, it makes me more aware of what I put in my mouth and how much.
