Sun, 14 Jan 2018 08:32:02 EST Greetings! After another day of binge eating, I decided to look for help through Google. I was looking for a place where I could get some motivation and feel comfortable. I am! I thought that I was signing up for Proud Lesbians over 50, but it turned out that I signed up for a "Spark" diet team, which is great because I could use all the help that I can get. THEN, I saw my opportunity to sign up on this site. All for now. Thu, 27 Apr 2017 21:15:08 EST Hello again, gals! I have been AWOL for some time, partly due to health challenges (mine and Hope's), work challenges... well, life challenges in general! Last year in March I was in the hospital for 26 days over four admissions to two different hospitals, and lost 6 weeks of my life to an undiagnosed interstitial pneumonia for most of it, caused by one of my anti-rejection drugs for my kidney transplant. Who knew? I lost a lot of weight in the hospital. Unfortunately I have regained it. I don't recommend that ... Sun, 19 Feb 2017 14:39:20 EST Tape Measure Challenge 2017 Hello all, I'd like to start charting my measurements and wondered if anyone else would be interested. Every second that passes is a chance to turn things around. Even if you didn’t eat well at lunch, you can do better at dinner. You’re not a failure if you didn’t go to the gym last week. Have you known of any such situations and if so, how were they met by both women? Thanks - Meri Mon, 20 Apr 2009 17:16:05 EST Fallen off the "wagon" and crawling back up!! What a time! I got a great exercise DVD on Walking Strong and have been sticking to it, but someone must have thought I could eat more by exercising, because I stopped doing weigh-in's, started eating home-made cookies, etc. I'm back and trying to get some control over this. Hope all is well with everyone. We even got dug out of the snow, at least for today. Char Sat, 31 Jan 2009 06:04:46 EST Update on new exercise program Morning folks. I had purchased a Walk Strong DVD the beginning of the year. So far I have used this DVD a minimum of 3 times a week for 3 weeks. Each workout is equivalent to 2 miles of walking. There is a Walk Strong DVD equivalent on SparkPeople web site. This has definitely been a help to me. This winter has been a real struggle energy-wise and I have become extremely lazy and lethargic, so I'm really glad that I'm sticking with the Walk Strong DVD. Weight wise I didn't lose anythin... Mon, 19 Jan 2009 07:27:00 EST January 2009 Happy New Year to all. I personally was sleeping by 10:30 p.m., but woke up on the 1st feeling like a little kid, and it felt good. Today I'm going to buy an exercise DVD to use at home as I'm bad at going out and exercising, but will use it at home. I'll let you know what I get and how I feel about it. Hope everyone is doing fine and getting back into sharing. Have a wonderful day. Char Sun, 4 Jan 2009 06:49:44 EST Monday update - Holiday struggles - weigh-in Well, I didn't lose, but didn't gain any weight. There's no doubt that no matter what my worst health problem is, my overweight is the culprit that is most limiting and the thing I can do most about. Parking further away when shopping, doing things that take more energy at home, and anything I do daily that I can take advantage of using more energy is what I'm concentrating on, and it all helps. Hope everyone had a safe and Happy holiday season. Char Mon, 29 Dec 2008 07:12:31 EST New to Spark Team Hello everyone. <BR> I am 63, Lesbian and in a 28 years and counting relationship. Last night I went to a Tuba Christmas concert in Akron, and instead of eating before (since we were going out to eat with friends afterwards) I just had an apple before we went. I also over-ordered a favorite dish at the restaurant, but instead of eating it all, I did bring half of it home, and also did not eat it before going to bed. These are examples of changes and... Mon, 15 Dec 2008 06:49:14 EST Holiday Slump Well, I conveniently forgot weigh in day yesterday, and no wonder since I'm up 2 lbs. This is very humbling to say the least. This past week I have made some progress on some small goals. Drinking 8 glasses of water, exercising 10 min a day, tracking food better, and being more active on our team have worked for me. Making small daily goals and monitoring them have finally given me some consistency. Any progress is good, but as I have said before, I need this to be a process and not an event. (Meri) Sun, 9 Nov 2008 14:48:17 EST Team Weigh in Day What do you think of a team weigh in day? What day should it be? I lost 3 lbs so far, but that only gets me down to 195. My next goal is 5 lbs. I'm taking it 5 lbs at a time. Also, I'm working on tracking daily food intake and making progress. Tue, 28 Oct 2008 06:55:22 EST Happy Friday! We are not strictly doing NutriSystem, but the main thing I have noticed are the portion sizes compared to what I would usually have. I don't eat what's on the list for the day so I'm struggling to track food; however, the awareness of portion control has gotten my head "out of the sand" and now this is a priority for me.
