I'm still fighting with my insurance company to send the forms for my lyrica. I'm calling on Monday to lay down the law lol. My migraines have lessened a bit and my neurologist is going to try to get my insurance company to help foot the bill for medical Botox. Unfortunately My right wrist is killing me, I think my tendonitis is acting up. And I have a rash and hives on my right arm and hand. No clue why. But overall I'm feeling better than m... Sun, 27 Apr 2014 12:13:46 EST Dermatomyositis Hi Everyone!
I am newly diagnosed with Dermatomyositis. I am still in shock. A month ago I was a happy and healthy and active 35 yr old mom of 2. Today I feel like a disabled grandma. I am overwhelmed by how quickly this disease has affected me.

It all started in Dec'13 when I got a cold/pink eye that turned into dry eye syndrome. I went to my eye dr. in January because OTC drops did not help my eyes. The first thing he said is that dry eye syndrome in someone my age ... My rheumatologist prescribed my lyrica for my severe fibro a month ago and my Insurance company won't send the paper work so I can get rolling with it and hopefully get relief. My doctor said my fibro is "out of control" . I also had to get a cortisone shot in my left shoulder and I need to get one in both knees. If I make the mistake of crossing my legs I have to physically lift my leg and unbend my knee with my hands. This is making exercise all but impossible. I'm going on tramadol for the... Fri, 18 Apr 2014 08:13:25 EST Hello. Hi Everyone! I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia nine years ago. It has been a very rough journey at times. A few years later I was diagnosed with Steatohepatitis, a disease that two generations of my family have died from. Four years ago I was diagnosed with a polyarticular form of Psoratic Arthritis. I remind myself everday I have these conditions but they are not who I am, they do not define me as a person. Its how I cope.
Currently I am in my third year of College, Im studyin... Thu, 3 Apr 2014 13:58:10 EST second day of excruciating pain... I'm house sitting for my boyfriend's boss and taking care of 5 cats and 2 dogs (and I'm allergic to them but I need the money). My lupus, fibromyalgia, and migraines are out of control. My joints, muscles, skin and head are killing me. I can barely type because my hands hurt so much. I really don't know what to do right now... I have so much I need to do around the house but it hurts to move (well it also hurts to not move). And my boyfriend's family is at full crisis mode so I can't say anyt... Thu, 27 Mar 2014 12:56:15 EST Hello I hope I can benefit from this forum. I have SLE, hypothyroid (after treatment from hyper...), and fibromyalgia. I've gained weight and need to slim down and firm up. I need exercise. I broke a leg in multiple places and can only do standing exercises. No getting on the floor but can squat with no problem. I can use any and all suggestions that you have experienced in getting control of your lives. I missed up on day 8 of this plan. I have a hard time getting up in the mornings to exerc... Mon, 17 Feb 2014 23:25:34 EST IBS-D One Day at a Time Hi everyone, I am Linda. I am looking for support, active teammates that support each other, and just to know I am not crazy. I am about to see my third gastroenterologist in a year to find relief for chronic IBS-D with acute spasms. I also have Hashimoto's Thyroid with nodules growing, and Menieres Disease with Vertigo. Exercising is a challenge on a good day, and despite my IBS I am 100 pounds over weight. I have lost 22 pounds since I started really trying last year. I am working tow... Fri, 7 Feb 2014 22:07:04 EST Hello from West Michigan I am a brand new member with an attitude of willingness to change my life. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I have a history of Lupus (in remission), metastatic melanoma (in remission) and Fibro (never in remission) and rheumatoid arthritis (active frequently) and I have come to the conclusion that all but the melanoma are related (they have to be) and that inflammation is caused by many things, including what we eat. I was recently tested by my new boss, a chiropractor (she and h... Sat, 18 Jan 2014 21:42:22 EST New again and need encouragement I joined SP in 2009 and have been in two car accidents with spinal surgeries since then. I am finally cleared to exercise again. I have RA, fibromyalgia, Sjogern's, spondylosis, spinal stenosis and 7 herniated discs. I was exercising - treadmill, bike and weights - for four months and enjoying it but am wondering if I overdid it or if the cold is doing me in. I helped move boxes from my garage for two hours last Saturday and then again while I unpacked some of them. We also got hit with a... Fri, 17 Jan 2014 15:51:27 EST Confused about autoimmune diet Hi everyone,
I haven't officially been diagnosed with a specific autoimmune disease yet, but dr. mentioned lupus yesterday, more testing to verify, but I do have high CRP and ANA.

Anyway, she wanted me to start on 'the autoimmune diet' ASAP, so I've been searching online for the diet she recommended. She said she eats vegan - only veggies, fruit and beans (which is what she recommended I do as well), but the books I found about autoimmune diets include the paleo diet as well (... Wed, 15 Jan 2014 15:55:28 EST New to the Team Trying to get a diagnosis. Hello, long time on and off sparkpeople member, but new to the sparkteam

I'm currently trying to get a diagnosis for what is thought to most likely be an autoimmune disorder - soft tissue swelling in my throat, shortness of breath, fatigue, raynaud's phenomenon and a history of hypothyroidism. It's been frustrating since I've seen about a dozen doctors in the past year and don't seem much closer to finding an answer. Close to the end of last year, the local specialists finally re... Wed, 15 Jan 2014 07:54:05 EST Hi I new and would love some support :) Hi I am De, and I am new to this team, but I am not new to SparkPeople.

I was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, which is a rare auto-immune disease with the combined features of Lupus, Scleroderma and Polymyositis. Wed, 11 Sep 2013 22:58:06 EST HAS ANYONE HAD A PET SCAN? I had an abnormal chest CT scan months ago, and I just had a follow-up, which showed further damage to the pleura area, along with additional masses that have grown in size. So, I had a PET scan to determine what's happening and to, hopefully, rule out cancer.

The doctor said that he could see that inflammation over the years (relating to Lupus) definitely caused some of the damage -- so I'm wondering (and before I get my results in a week or two) has anyone else had a scan suc... So I ring up my doc for an appointment. Apparently she's "no longer with the office" and they aren't telling me where she went. Crap! She was AWESOME! I don't like the other docs in that clinic so I'm off to find a new one again. Luckily my husband has a friend at work with similar issues (and the same health insurance) and her doc is just starting a new practice. Apparently New Doc Lady is very into tr... Once my mom learned of his situation she immediately decided that once Aunt passed she wanted Uncle (her brother) to come live with her. Uncle currently lives in Colorado, we are in Oregon. This move wi... Sat, 10 Sep 2011 23:21:36 EST I'm new, um... hello! Hello to all of you Sparkers out there! I just signed up yesterday and figured I should introduce myself.
