Thu, 21 Jul 2011 16:08:58 EST Strollers Hey everyone,

I am newer to Sparks and just wanted to let some of you with infant and toddlers know about the wonderful stroller I have. I had started with the "trendy" Bob that everyone "has to have". It was horrible for me. I live up in the Furnance Mountain area where we have few paved roads so the tires didn't stand up to the rough terrain. I bought a Chicco jogging stroller and LOVE LOVE it. I am also aware that the Bob strollers are now copying Chicco technology and using the... Fri, 15 Jul 2011 22:56:22 EST A year from now! Where do you see yourself 1 year from today? What are your goals? Do you want to move to a different home, lose weight - how much?, start a family? Please share your thoughts! When we write down our goals it is easier to achieve them! Thu, 14 Jul 2011 10:48:36 EST First post / exercise options? Hi everyone! I hope you are all set for a great weekend?

I have been a member of Sparkpeople for 8 months now but still have not been able to get into a new healthy living routine as yet. I am hoping this month will change that.

What I am wondering is, who prefers what when it comes to exercise - gym workout? gym class? fitness video at home? outdoor activities? something else? What makes you move?? Fri, 1 Jul 2011 18:52:49 EST When do you work out? I've had a really busy past few weeks and am making some changes to my exercise schedule. The past 3 months I've dragged my butt out of bed at 4:15AM to work out. I felt it was my best option to get it out of the way first thing in the morning. The only problem is I don't get enough sleep! I get to bed around 10PM, which give me a little over 6 hours of sleep per night and I'm definitely more of a 7-8 hour girl. So, what time of day do you work out? What keeps you sticking to it and why does ... Mon, 27 Jun 2011 07:32:57 EST Father's Day What are you doing special for Father's Day? I joined Sparkpeople in August 2009 or so, I think. I was also a member of Weight Watchers (online only). I don't remember much of this, but in Oct 2009, I died in the back of my parents Jeep. Electrical current to my heart just stopped. I was revived after about 10-15 minutes at the hospital then died 2 more times, before I was put on ice and put in a coma for 6 days. I h... Granted, I sweat my @$$ off during cardio, but was it a warmer day, or was it because I did the ST first?!? Talked to one of the guys in the gym (who's lost 200 lbs!!) and he says it doesn't really matter, but he does cardio first to warm up for ST. Then the vacation happens and usually I work out the first day and then don't touch my tennis shoes the rest of the trip. About day 2 I decide to "treat myself" to a margarita (or 5), some cake, or a fatty meal. This turns into a full on pigging out fest which lasts the rest of th... Thu, 29 Apr 2010 12:22:02 EST Post Your Goals for May 2010 Here!!! Here we go again! It's full-on spring and time to set a few new goals (or mini-goals) for the month.

What are you going to do in order to enjoy this month to the fullest?

I'm sticking to the old things, like getting more sleep (discovered that taking a shower before bed on my grueling Wednesday workout night helps!) - and this month I am going to try and experience at least 3 new things. The first is a group ride with cyclists on Tuesday night, then yoga outdoors and t... Thu, 29 Apr 2010 12:19:32 EST Introducing myself Hi all, I'm Susan, and am working at getting healthy again. I do real well when pregnant b/c I get gestational diabete and watch for the baby's sake. Then the baby leaves the womb and things start to climb again. I'd like to look like I did when I was pregnant (minus the baby bump of course LOL) and up my energy levels. I've been on SP for about two weeks now I think? I've been consistent for about a week though. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Tue, 27 Apr 2010 12:06:40 EST hi everyone- I need some team support Hey Everyone, I just joined this group because i went to say something on the 20 something forum and suddenly remembered oh I'm 30 now lol. Anyway, so this is my third time trying Sparkpeople. I started the first time in november I think but I got a job and everything kind of went out the window. I thought maybe it was the lack of group support so I tried going to a weight watchers meeting but all the people there were seriously like 60+ so i didn't feel very much like I fit in. so this group... Mon, 26 Apr 2010 19:02:29 EST Newbie alert Hi there,

I'm Cleo, 31. I live in NY and spend my days as a programmer. Being a code monkey in a lab without windows is about as glamorous as it sounds and as time goes by, I'm finding I'm myself expanding my horizontals rather in my horizons.

So here I am. Thu, 15 Apr 2010 23:28:13 EST I will make it this time I am setting my goal to lose weight and will do so. Thu, 15 Apr 2010 18:27:11 EST New Here :) I was a member of SP about 2 years ago. I have decided to start fresh!! I'm 30 years old nad have about 20 lbs to lost...more than that, my husband and I are trying to change our lifestyle. It seems to get harder as I get older, lol. Thu, 15 Apr 2010 08:35:08 EST Back to SP after hiatus I started here back in 2006 at 205lbs ... I wasn't yet a 30 something then. Now, at 34, I've returned. I'm down to a size 6 - 8, my weight has been stable at 136 for several years and I'm running again.

Round two has begun. I'd like to firm up, drop another 26 lbs and see if 110 is a weight that suits me. I've learned enough about my body in the last 4 years to know that the number on the scale isn't everything, but I'm curious how lean I can be and still be healthy.

... Thu, 8 Apr 2010 10:15:36 EST New to SparkPeople Hi,
I've just joined SparkPeople this week, after finding the website "by accident" while looking for a calorie counter to put on my Blackberry. This site looks amazing...and I think it'll be just the thing to break me out of my rut - I haven't been eating well (or feeling well) all winter....time to make some positive changes!!
VPELLOW - 35 year old mom of 2 great boys Wed, 7 Apr 2010 21:36:44 EST I think my scale is broken...? If your like me, you spent your high school days and most of your 20's bulking up in the weight room. Then you hit 30, stop being as athletic and pack on a few pounds of fat. Only problem... you spent all that time packing on pounds of muscle. I couldn't believe it when I crossed the 220lb mark... and neither can other people when they look at me. I am here to get back into that active lifestyle and live a more healthy life. Tue, 6 Apr 2010 17:56:44 EST I'm officially a 30-something :-) I turned 30 last summer, so I thought it was time to leave the 20-something's group and join the 30-somethings. I have lost 50 pounds, starting at 230 and now am at 180. I've maintained that for a year, and now I'm beginning work on shedding the last 35 or so pounds. I'm from Birmingham, Alabama (where is a beautiful and sunny 84 degrees today). No 2-legged kids of my own, but my fiance has two teenage boys and I have three beautiful dogs and two cats. Tue, 6 Apr 2010 10:49:49 EST Finally doing something about it! I am finally going to do something about my weight! Tired of feeling ashamed and feeling like this is who I am. I was created for so much more than being winded and overweight. With God's help, I am finally going to do something about it! Today is a new day for this girl! Spark People seems like the best way to begin this new journey in my life and I am praying that I can follow through this time! Mon, 5 Apr 2010 11:11:45 EST First week Here is the start of my first full week. I look forward to using all the tools on this website. It gives you some kind of structure to follow which seems like it will make it a lot easier to follow. Good luck to everyone through this week. Once I left high school (and my sports teams), I started packing on the pounds. College was definitely no help, and then I really moved out on my own, moving from MN to Denver. I am not new to this site - but new to actually using it. I bought the book "The Spark" a few weeks ago and I found it really inspiring. I set a few easy "spark streaks" based on what I read in the first couple of chapters and was shocked at the energy and enthusiasm I felt after a few days. It was motivating enough that I finally started using the site to log my daily nutrition and fitness activity and guess what - after months and months of "dieting" and getting frustrated because I wasn't ... I've been planning meals about two weeks in advance to give me enough time for shopping and thinking about menu items and must say, it hasn't gotten even a little boring yet! I'll try to update menus and recipes on my blog entries, so feel free to drop by and please share ideas.
Good luck with achieving your goals! I get all gung ho for the first day and then it all falls by the wayside. I'm 30 years old and I weigh 226 pounds. I topped out at 230 a couple years back. I have horrible eating habits, I eat out far too much, rarely eat fruits or vegetables. The simple fact is, I like to eat. I like the taste of food and especially desserts. I have a huge sweet tooth. I have no willpower. I'm getting to the point where I can barely stand m... Thu, 7 Jan 2010 21:14:08 EST Help! I need breakfast and lunch ideas! I've been pretty consistent with my work outs for the last week or so. Today is the first day I haven't worked out. Decided to give my tired muscles some rest! Even though I'm finally getting back into a good, solid exercise routine, I'm hesitant to admit that my diet sucks!!!
It's hard to diet when there's delicious mochas, pizza, tacos and other yummy foods so readily and conveniently available!!
That brings me to my question:

What type of diet or nutrition plan are you... Thu, 7 Jan 2010 19:56:45 EST True motivation I know I want (and need) to lose weight. And I know this will be good for my health, that I will feel better and have more energy.

BUT, I am searching for my TRUE MOTIVATION. I think I found part of it at christmas. And it's my 94 years old grandm'a thaqt gave it to me. She gave me money. And that got me to reflect on what I was going to do with it. I decide it to invest it for my retirment. But then I started thinking, what is the use to save for retirment, if I do not take care o... Wed, 6 Jan 2010 19:18:57 EST Nutrition tracker Hi all,

Does anyone know how to modify the nutrition tracker so I change it to break, snack, lun, sn, supper, sn...instead the current break, lun, dinner, snack. Thans in advance
Jo Wed, 6 Jan 2010 12:40:09 EST New ''again'' hello!

This is the first time I introduce myself to the group. I first joined sparkpeople three years ago, and lost 15 lbs, of which I have put back 10 lbs in the last two years. The best things I learned was to control my portions and listen to my hunger. And I still need help with my emotional eating. I know I eat when I am bored, stressed or sad. And I am getting better at not eating my emotions. But I am still working on it.

So, I welcome the new year with joy and a ... Tue, 5 Jan 2010 21:13:25 EST First Time Here Hey there!

How goes it? All is well in my end of the world. Just enjoying this incredibly lazy Sunday! The new year has treated us well so far. Granted, it's only the third day, but hopefully it'll stay on this delightful and enjoyable course!

Well, I guess this is the part where I tell ya about myself, right?

I turned 30 about 3 weeks ago and I gotta tell ya - I don't understand why sooooo many of my female friends nearly had a nervous breakdown on their 30th... Sun, 3 Jan 2010 18:59:02 EST First Post! Hi everyone! I've had an account on SP for probably two years now, but I've never used it until today. I look forward to interacting with everyone. Sun, 3 Jan 2010 17:48:06 EST Hello! I'm a working mom of 2 and excited to start 2010 with the support of this site and the people that use it. I have completed my family (I think!) with a wonderful son (age 4) and daughter (age 1). Now it is time to lose the pregnancy weight and get back to feeling good about me. I think I have been on some sort of "diet" my entire life, so I hope this site will help me to just eat right and exercise regularly. I like goals, so this seems like the right fit for me. Here's to a healthy, hap... Sat, 2 Jan 2010 08:49:01 EST
