It took about 2 years to heal... they did a multi fracture to the bone so I would grow cartilage.. I had to relearn how swim about six months after the operation and I also quit smoking at this time... Just gained lots of weight with quitting smoking and couldn't get it off.. While I am waiting for the water to boil, I prepare my cup and at the same time take out a bowl and a box of sugar free jello. When the water boils I make coffee and jello at the same time!
