I know we've got the SP App that does the basics... food, water, exercise...
but I would like a Facebook style app for Sparkpeople. It's hard to be on the computer all the time, but when you get notifications and can have access right through the phone to respond to people, that would be grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat.

I have an IPOD and would like to stay better connected with SP. But I'm not always at a computer. Mon, 21 Mar 2011 01:57:35 EST where are my recipes? Hello, I have been looking but haven't found an answer to this yet. And then add a serving or however much to any meal. I have tried from both the Android app and also from the mobile webpage but can't find it. I think a download shortcut link would be hugely beneficial for Blackberry users!

This guy makes them for $40 (and you can share it!):

ome.html
Sat, 16 Aug 2008 16:11:43 EST Food Grouping I don't use the meal plans so, I'd like to have access to my food groupings to allow for quick entries of my favorite meals. Sat, 16 Aug 2008 02:10:01 EST Question I have a Tungston E2 Palm Pilot and I am trying to find a way to log on it and transfer the info into my spark tracker. I don't have internet on my phone or on my Palm. Is anyone working on a program that a person could download that would do that?

Thanks Sat, 16 Aug 2008 01:32:12 EST Mobile Tracking without Internet For those people attached to their mobile phone, like myself, there is another tool that might be helpful for when you're out of internet range. I like the Wellness Diary from Nokia. You can track weight, sleep, exercise, food and even medical appts. Here's the website:
s/WellnessDiary/index.html

Also, if you have questions, feel free to contact me. I'm quite comfortable with Nokia and their apps. Thu, 24 Jul 2008 15:07:13 EST iPhone User Here 304 243 250 4
Just found out about this feature and I want to thank SParkpeople for coming up with this.

This is great not only for travel but when eating out. I used to put my food in the notes section and transfer it later due to the time involved when running on "E". This is fantastic!!!!! Mon, 21 Jul 2008 15:38:40 EST Texting? Hello everyone, I think this new feature on spark is awesome! My cell is attached to my hip on a permanent basis and i love the fact when have access to spark even when we are away from home (that's when i need it the most!)

I was just curious if anyone would be interested in having text support from other members in case you need a little encouragement, or maybe just an opinion, or even someone to chat with when you cant get to the pc. I have free texting package on my phone, and ... Sun, 20 Jul 2008 20:10:37 EST Problem logging on/using food tracker Hi
I'm in Europe (Norway). Whenever I try to log on to or use the Food look-up I get to the start page, but I get an error message after I enter my username and password or hit search button, (something XML failed).

My phone is a Sony Ericsson P990i.

Thanks for the great site, I'd just love the chance to keep on tracking on my vacation, but I CAN do it with pen and paper.

Is the mobile site suppsed to work outside the US?

... Sun, 20 Jul 2008 08:45:33 EST Wow again! I'm completely wowed by SP Mobile. I've been using it for several weeks now. I've logged everything from whole meals to cardio. Today I changed my eating plan while at a restaurant and used the Food Lookup feature just to find out what I could eat. How cool! I'm loving the freedom of using SP on my phone. I haven't really hit any glitches yet, and that's pretty amazing. Thu, 17 Jul 2008 12:02:35 EST Updates and Suggestions I agree to add the weight tracker. But one major point to suggest is to update the restaurant foods i.e.: McDonald's no longer has SuperSizes and this is just one point. Tue, 15 Jul 2008 10:56:28 EST Please add the "food groups" to spark mobile!! It takes alot more time to track foods on a pda rather than the computer (especially since you have to go back to the main menu every single time on the pda). If you added the food groups, it would be very easy to set it up on the computer so that adding all my daily meals would be super quick.

Please add food groups! Fri, 11 Jul 2008 21:05:09 EST Email/Web Access I just got my new Tmobile Shadow about a month ago and I didn't add email or web access feature because my old phone a RIZR didn't have it either yet I could email out with it. Well I just called tmobile and asked them why I couldn't email from my new Shadow. Apperantlly the Shadow is considered a PDA phone. Ok so I paid more money for a phone with more features that can't email out. But a simple cheaper phone that is not considered PDA can email out with out the extra charge. Hmph!
<B... Wed, 9 Jul 2008 11:50:26 EST Larger size type for Mobile Users For those of us who have passed the dreaded 40 mark, it would be great if the type size for the mobile version could be a bit larger. I've visited other mobile sites and not had trouble seeing the text, but the Spark Mobile site text is really small.

Thanks for your consideration on this one! Tue, 8 Jul 2008 12:49:55 EST Several observations /suggestions I was thrilled to see a mobile version developed, especially after JUST receiving my AT&T tilt. So far, I've seen several things that are either issues or things I'd like to see added/changed.

1) After adding a food, you can't remove it in the mobile version.

2) When you add cardio, there is no way to add calories burned, only the minutes you worked out.

3) I added the cardio minutes on my phone, but when I logged into my computer, the workout itself showe... Fri, 4 Jul 2008 13:37:26 EST shorter url? Following the likes of Google... would you consider making as an alternative URL for the mobile site?

That might save the www-dotters out there some confusion, too. Fri, 27 Jun 2008 01:02:55 EST Where do I send the pizza? Come on, Spark People, your tech team deserves to be treated to a pizza party for this! It's something that many, many users have been wistfully longing after for a very, very long time.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. From the bottom of my geektastic, nerdaliscious heart. :)

Me, my AT&T Tilt and Opera Mobile will get a lot of use out of this! Fri, 27 Jun 2008 00:31:56 EST Adding Items to future dates -at least 1 -7 days I would love to be able to add to future dates. Say I'm on the road and I'm sitting in my hotel room planning my tomorrow. I would love to be able to add at least 1 day if not 1-2 weeks worth of food if I was going on a vacation. Thu, 26 Jun 2008 19:28:08 EST Deleting Foods entered I would love to be able to delete the foods I have added if I change my mind or make a mistake :) Thu, 26 Jun 2008 19:26:15 EST Leave the WWW out of the address to get it to work If you are having a problem...

it may be that you are entering www. prior to the link...

the correct link is

good luck! this is cool! Thu, 26 Jun 2008 13:04:23 EST Out for a walk..... So on Saturday I met up with a fellow Sparker. We met at a local park and walked around the track getting to know eachother. Once we were finished walking I whipped out my phone and started logging what we had just done and then shared the good news with her (as to how many calories we burned).

She was shocked that we had Spmobile and so excited that we knew before we left how we did. If the number was too low we knew so we could walk more. We were very pleased with our numbers an... Wed, 28 May 2008 09:41:43 EST user added foods i have not seen an option to add a food. just look them up or use your favorites. it would be nice to be able to add foods as well like we can on the site. Wed, 21 May 2008 21:55:34 EST Cannot access all serving sizes from menu For some of the foods that have a few different portion sizes offered in the drop down menus, I can't see more than the first 3 or 4. I use grams most of the time, and this option is usually listed last, and therefore, I can't select it if there are too many others listed first. Fri, 16 May 2008 14:52:38 EST Time to come clean and start again OK, for the last few weeks I've been fighting migraines and feeding them. It's time to "stop the madness" and start again. I just felt it necessary to post this for accountability sake.

"My name is Elizabeth Demko and I LOVE CHOCOLATE!" LOL!!!

Hope all the mothers had a good weekend and here's to a great week ahead for all of us.

Liz. :) 211 Mon, 12 May 2008 12:23:04 EST Being able to get Login points I would like the ability to get my login points on SP Mobile. Thu, 1 May 2008 19:33:53 EST Deleting foods after adding them After adding foods using the Track Your Food I found I'd made a mistake. But I couldn't find how to delete the entry. I ended up adding the right food and just changing the amount of the wrong one to 0. Then cleaned it all up when I got home and logged in from my desktop. Did I miss the delete for this? Or isn't there one?

Thanks!! Tue, 29 Apr 2008 17:38:20 EST I could cry I'm so happy! I know this probably sounds a bit... over the top but seriously when my work blocked SP due to the web postings I thought I would die. I was trying to track stuff in the mornings before work and remembering how much things were ect ect. I have a blackjack phone with internet and sp wouldnt come up I almost took the phone back! lol.

When I saw this in my email tonight I literally ran for my phone, typed in the url and felt the biggest sigh of relief!!! I seriously could cry. I nee... Fri, 25 Apr 2008 21:18:06 EST spark team posts Thank you so much for adding this! One thing I would love to do from my phone is read and reply to my spark team notifications. These are typically short messages and there are tons in my inbox by the time I get to my personal email. I was just at the theater last night (Spamalot) and was doing yahoo mail before the show and during intermission. Since i can't do my spark team emails i keep having to page past these emails and after 10 messages to page through it's not worth it. I would l... Fri, 25 Apr 2008 12:00:44 EST Blackberry Users and or Verizon Users Have you been able to get online with Thu, 24 Apr 2008 15:16:02 EST THANK YOU!!! I just want to say "thank you!" to the folks who created this. I've tried unsuccessfully to use plain ol' SP on my WM6 phone, and it was SO frustrating... now I can track my food from work or wherever I am. I just know that'll help me stay on track more.

I can't wait to start using it tomorrow. Wed, 23 Apr 2008 21:59:26 EST Food Groupings, Weight tracker, and Blog I just tried the mobile out on my Sprint Mogul (HTC 6800) PPC. It work great. I added food for today but then I received a server error. It might have been because I'd forgot to log out on my PC. I'm using Opera Mobile (not the mini). A few things that I feel would be a good addition to what's already there are weight tracker and the ability to blog. I also noticed that the food groupings I have created are not there. It would be nice to have that as it's easier then looking up each item in a... Wed, 23 Apr 2008 16:11:05 EST Server Unavailable It appears that SP needs to add more server capacity for this service. I have not been able to log in yet on the mobile version. I keep getting the Serve Unavailable message. Love SP and think mobile access would be great. I'll keep trying! Wed, 23 Apr 2008 15:00:10 EST Grocery shopping? Cooking? Exactly when? I think that the new Spark Mobile is a great tool. It will certainly help to allow more time with my son in the evenings and still keep up my food diary. However, there is one other major aspect of "weight loss" that could benefit from a little bit of mobility: my grocery shopping list. This almost always gets relegated to the "things-I-should-have-done-but-didn't-have
-time-to-do" list. So, I thought it would be a helpful feature for my phone. I'm not sure how the best way to do it would ... Wed, 23 Apr 2008 07:12:36 EST T-mobile I am trying to become a "mobile user", but when my phone (a sidekick) arrives at the page all I can see is a little circle about 2/3 down. Does anyone have advice? Tue, 22 Apr 2008 16:48:09 EST IPhone & SparkPeople I recently started using SparkPeople & the IPhone. Is there anything out there that can be used on the IPhone as the Nutrition/Fitness & Water Tracker? I really need to be able to keep accountability throughout the day to keep me on target. Any suggestions? Keep up the great work -- LOVE this website! Fri, 4 Apr 2008 00:15:22 EST Mobile Cardio Tracker We just launched a mobile version of the cardio tracker this afternoon. We also tried to fix a few other small bugs as well. Feel free to let us know what you think of this new feature. Thanks! Wed, 2 Apr 2008 17:01:19 EST Unable to enter prior day data I was unable to enter prior day items. I tried to use the mobile app over the weekend. My Bberry is set to Eastern time (home), but I travel to California alot so I'm actually eating and recording in Pacific time. I tried entering a meal for Saturday when my Bberry thought it was Sunday, but the food kept showing up on Sunday. I tried to change the date from a couple of different screens with no luck. Mon, 24 Mar 2008 11:54:05 EST Exercise and water tracking Would love to see an exercise tracker to track cardio workouts, including that handy little link to manually enter calories burned that currently exists on the cardio tracker.

Also, someone else said this too... water tracking would be really handy.

31 Sun, 23 Mar 2008 16:36:52 EST Weight and Exercise Trackers I'd like to see trackers for weight and exercise. Specifically, on the exercise tracker, I'd like to see exercise, time and distance tracking options. Cardio tracking is all that I need.

The food log is a great first start though. Works really well on my Motorola Q! Sun, 23 Mar 2008 09:24:43 EST Water & Goals I'd like to see a place to update water and my daily goals - but water would be my first pick if I had to chooose.
I don't know if this is possible, but it would be nice if there was an option to keep my user ID logged in. Fri, 21 Mar 2008 19:03:15 EST First attempt to login I'm on a Blackberry. Hope that's not a problem.

Anyway, I'm getting the following message:
HTTP Error 503: Service Unavailable
The server is currently unable to handle your request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. I joined this team because I travel for work and there are several aspects of SP that would be helpful on a mobile device. Wed, 19 Mar 2008 18:48:57 EST
