Rob coined such colorful phrases as "Hambone" for four strikes in a row, "Ten-pin party in the pit" for a strike where all of the pins ended up off the lane, and others. His sidekick, boring Randy Pedersen hated the new phrases. What a stick in the mud Pedersen is, in my opinion.

What do you think of the announcers and new phrases like "hambone?"

Lou Sat, 17 Jul 2010 11:39:20 EST What is one of your memorable bowling moments? One of mine is my first 300 game a week after my birthday in 1997 in the Florida state law enforcement tournament. Approximately 750 bowlers each rolling 15 games over three days and mine was the only one and was the last one until 2004. What a thrill! Being right handed, when I start I like to roll a few easy shots across lane toward the 10-pin to loosen up the swing. Then I'll roll several strike shots off the first arrow, second arrow and so on across the lane to as far left as I can get. When I'm warmed up I'll try to pick off the 10 then go for a strike shot. The next frame I'll shoot for the 7 then a strike shot. After a couple of games I'll go for score.

Of course, if I'm working on some aspect of my approach or swing or r... I would have walked out but at $12. 50 a game, I might as well stick it out. Its the ... Tue, 26 May 2009 21:53:03 EST Hi New Bowler that can Bowl Have been bowling for about 40 years on and off.
