I just started a lifestyle change including changing my diet. My main problem is eating once a day and as we all know in this business, not always eating the healthiest. So far the hardest thing for me to give up is the beverages... I LOOOVE my coffee (with cream and sugar).... and I DESPISE paying for water.... So I'm really pushing to bring some so I am not tempted to purchase pops and sweeten... I am a paid paramedic and volunteer firefighter in a very small (population wise) rural area. My fire department's first due covers about 100 square miles with only 600 residents. I've worked as a call taker/dispatcher for the past 9 years in a small community of about 5000. The center is staffed primarily by a single dispatcher per 10 hour shift, who takes emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatches and tracks responders, manages the crime information computers and many of the department records. Two volunteer firefighters were injured after they entered the house searching for a woman that RAN BACK IN to save her dog. While they were searching, the house flashed over and both were burned. One is home and recuperating - physically okay but emotionally having a really hard time. The other is in a Pittsburgh hospital burn unit in critical condition. He is burned over 75% of his body. Mark Beck was 33 yrs old and a good husband and father. Zander his K-9 partner and friend is banged up but, he did survive the violent wreck that took Mark from us.
