Tue, 1 Oct 2019 21:22:38 EST hello all :) 30 w/ CFS & fibromyalgia Hi everyone,

A year ago I was FINALLY diagnosed with CFS and Fibromyalgia after 5 years of doctors running tests. I was fortunate enough to go to Mayo in Rochester where I was officially diagnosed. Converted from working full-time to part-time, which has helped a bit but still learning how to manage this illness and it's hard. Some days I just sit there and remember back to when I had energy. It's changed my life entirely. Found the Curable app and I am starting to work with that t... Wed, 16 Jan 2019 13:25:09 EST Hello Hello. I joined spark with the goal of losing weight and hopefully improving my health. My medical conditions include Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Type 2 Diabetes, Depression, Migraines, Fatigue, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Raynaud's Disease. I haven't known a pain free day in over 12 years, but I will not let that stop me. I look forward to making friends and being an active member of the team. Sun, 13 Jan 2019 18:52:54 EST Fatigue with incontinence? I'm afraid to even mention this since it's not very optimistic, like the site is. But maybe one of you knows what to do? I go into full flood every time I get out of bed. Then I mop a path back to bed and sleep, exhausted. The doctor has prescribed but anything stronger would make me very hungry lol. Suggestions, anybody? If I'm in the wrong place I apologize.
Sat, 12 Jan 2019 01:35:32 EST Welcome to 2019 and New Beginnings. Hello team! We have some new people. I am upset because the insurance company really needs to pre-approve the MRI's or I could get stuck with $4000 bill or more. The doc composed a letter Friday nite and I am sure the pre-auth. person from the clinic will send that to the insurance tomorrow. Insurance states that they usually need 1-2 weeks for pre-auth which I can't wait that long. It would hold up surgery and everything... Sun, 5 Dec 2010 22:55:40 EST Intro Hi, I'm Karen. I haven't been formally diagnosed with CFS by a doctor, but I do have the symptoms. I did get tested to rule out other things (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis) and nothing showed up, but this was a few years ago.

My symptoms show up as a result of Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. If I stay away from chemicals, I do pretty well. When I don't, I suffer.

I could use the support of this group, especially this time of year when I can't air out the house every da... Sat, 4 Dec 2010 08:37:20 EST Update- Need more prayers I saw the breasst surgeon today.
I am so scared , to be very truthful. On the positive I really like the surgeon, he is very nice and thorough. The computers went down so he couldn't look at my films so we talked and I explained everything . I had marked the lumps on my right leg- just a few of them not all. and the lumps on the upper part of my breasts. He talked with me first and then after I changed into the gown he examined all the areas I marked. He didn't think much of the lumps on... Fri, 3 Dec 2010 00:42:52 EST Nearly Christmas - What's the plan? I tend to overdo it at this time of year. I take 3 rest period each day to try and keep away from the boom and bust cycle. Yesterday I managed 20 minutes of rest. Not surprisingly I wound up in bed pretty early too. Hmmm...
Today is at home - so I'm sure I'll manage my rest breaks.
Let me rewrite that. I'm committed to ensuring I take my rest breaks.
How do you keep to your programme?
No travel this Christmas - it will be a relaxing one. Yeah!
Thu, 2 Dec 2010 04:26:02 EST Need Prayers Hi everyone:
I am very scared. I need to make an appt. to see a breast surgeon. I had told him that I wanted to spend Christmas day with my sons- ages 21 and 18. He just e-mailed me and said he would be taking them on another snowboard trip leaving the day of Dec. 24th. and returning on Jan. 1st. Cory has to go back to school on the 2nd. and Ryan won't get home until maybe late on Dec. 23rd. so that wouldn't give me anytime to celebrate Christmas with my sons. I replied by e-mailing him ba... Sun, 14 Nov 2010 23:41:11 EST Chat and Whine or maybe just Wine Hello tired and fatigued friends. I got up feeling pretty good, took dogs out to do their business. It was raining so hard Sasha would not get off the porch so I decided to run across the yard to get her to chase me. (She is collie and australian shepherd.) I love running in the rain. Boy was that a mistake. The tremors hit instantly and five hours later all I have accomplished is to feed myself a little, do some knitting and spend a little time on SP. I was feeling downright sorry for mysel... Tue, 9 Nov 2010 18:27:40 EST Please let me sleep, I'm so tired... Hello everyone! I'm new to Spark and am hoping that it will help me out...
I'm going to be 25 this month, am in the Military, overweight by military standards, have many back problems (Arthritis, an extra disc, Spina Bifida, etc), as well as Plantar Fasciitis. I can walk, use equipment at the gym, ... Mon, 8 Nov 2010 12:06:39 EST got my test results--lyme positive, thyroid low So, after struggling with CFIDS for 11 years, and the past 2 years really going downhill fast, I found a CFIDS/lyme specialist and he did the "real" lyme test on me (western blot), and it came back positive. Also found out that my thyroid is low--he was mortified that I have all these thyroid symptoms plus low thyroid and no Dr had ever put me on anything for it. sigh.

So now I'm starting doxycycline for the lyme, and nystatin and diflucan to keep the yeast at bay because of the h... Mon, 8 Nov 2010 10:48:52 EST BAD DAY-Need Support OMG- I am having a day of debilitating fatigue. I kept hearing the phone ring but didn't get up until 1 p.m. and then felt exhausted. Mon, 25 Oct 2010 15:54:36 EST sick and tired of being sick and tired Hi, I have been whining on all my other teams, so decided to find a team that could empathize.

I have been off work for almost two months. I am without pay and soon without insurance. If I push myself to cook dinner, wash dishes, etc, the tremors start, then the head pain and then joint pain and numbness and tingling. Sun, 17 Oct 2010 13:16:51 EST I'm completely new to CFS I'm not new to sparkpeople, but I've not been successful to do pain and fatigue. I was just diagnosed with CFS due to lyme on 9/16.

The DX is a mixed blessing. I am glad that I am not lazy or stupid. The head fog has interfered with work. I was beginning to think I was just stupid and incompetent. People have had to give me my words and that was scary for me. I hope that I can reduce the brain fog otherwise I may have to find another job. I deal with at risk youth and I definitely... Sat, 18 Sep 2010 20:18:53 EST Does stress make it worse? When I have stress at work, the healthy thing would be to come home and do a healthy workout, but all I want to do is sleep. Anybody else have that problem? How do they overcome? Sun, 12 Sep 2010 10:56:58 EST the loneliness of CFIDS I found I've lost a lot of friends since being diagnosed with CFIDS 11 years ago, mainly because they all want to chat on the phone or visit or hang out somewhere, and I am just too tired, even to chat on the phone, and they don't understand that. I'm okay with the occasional email or facebook, I find that very convenient for me to keep in touch, but most people want more. So it's very lonely being me with CFIDS. Anyone else have that experience?
I don't even get out to the gym anym... Fri, 10 Sep 2010 09:51:26 EST Has anything helped with your fatigue?? I have CFS caused by Lyme disease. How much do all of you who sufer with CFS sleep. For me on a good day- I sleep 12 hours and am up 12 hours, but not always functioning.

No treatments have helped so far so I am discouraged. I feel like I sleep half my life away. and my body is screwed up- can't wake up in the mornings, but can't sleep at night.
Oh my!!

Nancy Sat, 4 Sep 2010 00:40:37 EST gained 10 pounds this past year due to CFIDS :-( I think that says it all. And I'm too tired and discouraged to say more. 39 Fri, 3 Sep 2010 19:37:53 EST Something to Consider: Vitamin D Deficiency I have just received an added diagnosis of Vitamin D deficiency... Yes, in the middle of the siummer... I thought that was odd as I have always heard it leads to depression and I am not exactly sad. Well, upon further reading... a vitamin D deficiency is a part of CFS, more pain, and a multitude of other symptoms. I figured others would want to know about this and read up on it. I had been taking 2000 IU/ day per my endo as he suggests that to all his female patients who are my age (37)..... Fri, 27 Aug 2010 12:23:35 EST Where is everyone? There is suppose to be 147 people on this where is everyone? Besides weight loss, which is the main reason for SparkPeople, I have Fibro & CFS. My CFIDS has been really bad lately, and in the past I've always had a small can of Coke with my lunch to help get me through the afternoon. Even then sometimes I would fall asleep for a couple hours. But without the caffeine, I can't function at all, not mentally or physically, and I have a daughter and a home to take care of.

The problem is, since March I've been having some heart pain (I'm only 39, BTW, and onl... Sun, 1 Aug 2010 11:23:47 EST Tired in AM/PM Is it common to be extremely (more so then usual) tired/exhausted in the first few hours after getting up in the AM and the same in the evening before going to bed? Or is it just me? I have Fibro & CFS and am having great difficulty with this.

~~Starr~~ Fri, 30 Jul 2010 11:52:09 EST how do you tell people about your fatigue? For example, my daughter likes to volunteer at this horse rescue farm. It's exhausting for me, but since she's only 14, I have to go and be with her the whole time. So here I am, a normal looking, healthy looking 39 year old, and of course they ask me to help carry some heavy stuff, and help with this, and help with that. I don't know any of them that well--we've only been there a few times, so I don't know how to say, "I'm disabled, even though I look perfectly healthy to you, so I can't d... Sun, 25 Jul 2010 12:58:24 EST Energy Does anyone have any ideas on what can be done/drank/eaten to get some energy at your most exhausting part of the day? Exercising makes me hurt and definitely does not give me any energy, like I have heard people say that it is suppose to do.

~~Starr~~ Sat, 24 Jul 2010 09:56:50 EST Having trouble accepting my physical limitations Lately I've been having trouble with CFIDS again--days where I can barely function are occurring much more than usual. And I'm having trouble accepting that. I want to exercise, I want to lose weight.

And this constant internal struggle is making me so unhappy! I often wonder if I should just accept myself as a very worn out, fatigued fat person because it's exhausting me even more to worry about food and exercise every day. Sun, 18 Jul 2010 19:49:02 EST where is everyone? Too tired to post? I know, we all have fatigue issues, but this is definitely the quietest team I'm on :-) I'm wondering, when you have energy, what do you use it for?
I had a little extra energy today (thank you, coca cola) so I vacuumed. Which meant no workout for me, no writing, no piano practice, no errands.
Last week I had enough extra energy to walk a couple days, but that didn't last long. Fri, 16 Jul 2010 17:07:24 EST fatigue-hunger does me in every time I find on days when I'm super fatigued that I am super craving sugar and don't have the energy to fight it, so I end up eating so much crap. I just wonder what other people do. Usually when I'm craving junk, I get myself away from the kitchen, go to the library or something, but when I'm fatigued, I can barely make it up to my bedroom.

Sadly, the sugar and junk food DO actually make me feel better for a while. I used to drink a small can of Coke instead but taking Strattera fo... Wed, 2 Jun 2010 10:08:32 EST new to team not SP, so glad 2 find other tireds!!! I've been on SP for almost 2 years and I don't know why it never occurred to me to look for this group! I was diagnosed with CFIDS 11 years ago after a bad ski accident, and I've been struggling ever since, haven't been able to work, haven't been able to exercise. Prior to that, I was an exercise FIEND! I love to exercise, especially running, and I miss it SO much, which is why I'm now struggling so much with food and my weight (and stress). I nap a lot, but when I have a good day, I tota... Tue, 1 Jun 2010 17:41:59 EST newbie needs advice Hi all
My name is Lisa and I was diagnosed with glandular fever at the end of January this year. Since then i have struggled with recurring sore throats, muscle/joint pain and a god awful fatigue like nothing else. Prior to this week I would have said i was 'getting better' but lately it just seems like I have taken a massive step backwards. Some days I'm so tired I cant even get out of bed or stand up long enough to take a shower! I never thought glandular fever could be this bad. I get... Mon, 29 Mar 2010 07:29:24 EST almost a whole week with Spark People! too many diagnoses to list, most are on my spark page.
too tired 2 type. have been logging in daily, which is a huge challenge for me. does the computer make anyone else exhausted? is it the noise from the fan or just the bad posture?

hopefully i can keep it up! :-) Thu, 11 Mar 2010 23:15:24 EST Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and workouts Ok, so I'm in the process of adding more exercises to my routine. Looking for more ways I can exercise without overdoing it. The high paced cardio DVDs aren't working for me because I can't keep up with them at all, so I'm looking for other DVDs.

I already have a Stott Pilates DVD and Mari Winsor's Pilates Power Abs.

What are your suggestions on DVDs to give more variation in my exercises?
