Hi, my name is Annie and I've just joined this group today, but am wondering if there's going to be some major activity going on here as some of the posting seem rather old, and I see you are minus a group leader... 39

I'm a girl who needs an active group... hmm, not necessarily a BIG group, just a group of wonderful caring individuals who know how to kick a girl's butt when she needs it, and can offer huge doses of encouragement, support and of course a GREAT online *h... Thu, 20 Oct 2011 15:39:00 EST Intro from new member, Jenna (sorry so long!) My name is Jenna and I'm new to Sparkpeople. I'm hoping to lose 15-20 pounds and to build some muscle before the winter snow hits here in the snowbelt of NE Ohio. As a mail carrier with a 7 mile walking route, my job is hard enough without carrying the extra weight on my body and at 43 years old, I've already lost plenty of muscle. It's time to make life a little easier for myself and to care enough to lose the weight and get in better shape. I have ridden since I was 11 years old, mostly Eng... I love the way I feel when my horse and just melt together as one. I live for that feeling! I need to stay on top of my game, both physically and mentally, so I can guide my horse through the movements of this sport. The art of dressage takes a lifetime and I want to be healthly so I can continue to ride till the day I die. I need to loss this extra weight and gain back my menta... Wed, 15 Sep 2010 11:39:17 EST huge compliment! I got to show someone else horse in halter at a judging clinic and received the greatest compliment: it was a horse I just met today and this lady asked me if it were my horse that I was showing, I said "no, just met him this morning" and she said: "I was really impressed with how kind and gentle you were with that horse, you sowed him really nice, if I were a horse, I'd want to be your horse." what??? she just about knocked my socks off! made my week, or heck, made my month! Thought it would be neat to see how many Spark Points folks are earning each day from all the many ways we can earn them - spinning the wheel, entering our nutrition or exercise, posting blogs, posting on discussion boards, reading articles, taking polls, completing trivia quizes, etc., etc., etc.

Post here each day to share your day's total of the Spark Points You've earned each day!

66 today for me.... Tue, 12 Jan 2010 20:39:54 EST What kind of riding do you do? And why? I started taking lessons about a year and a half ago... kind of a mid-life crisis thing. I have always wanted to ride regularly, and figured that this is as good a time as any. I'm riding Western Pleasure -- not showing or anything, just for my own enjoyment. I ride Western because it's what I did as a kid and I enjoyed it. I rode English a bit, too, but I like the more relaxed stance of Western. Thu, 7 Jan 2010 00:19:30 EST My horse is going into training!!! I'm so excited! When I bought him as a weanling, I'd planned to do all his training but when he turned 3, I was pregnant and now I don't feel as confident about riding the greenies so hubby and I decided that we would ship him to CA to spend a few months with my very good trainer friend! He'll have consistent work and may even be shown and will likely be ready to just walk into the ring on when he gets home!! I'm so happy for him and for me! Sat, 19 Dec 2009 10:44:58 EST How goes your horsey spirit today? I looked and saw no recent discussions so I thought I would start one that might get us going.

My horsey spirit wants to ride desparately but I am not allowed near them without a fence between us yet so I am counting down the days!

How about you? Fri, 20 Nov 2009 17:59:31 EST Hello... Newbie here. I am a very motivated newbie here. I am so thrilled to find this website! Wed, 2 Sep 2009 15:28:45 EST New to Sparkpeople Hi I'm new to this whole thing, so bear with me.

I've been riding dressage for about 2 years, and ride about an hour or two a week. I also work in the barn, mucking, buckets of water, wheelbarrow, etc. Just trying to figure out where that belongs in the fitness section. The riding is definitely both cardio and strength. The barn work is definitely strength. Is there a way to calculate these? Tue, 2 Jun 2009 21:29:06 EST An Equestrian Evening in Griffith Park Hey everybody! Now we just do small shows for fun and mostly trail riding. I al... Fri, 15 May 2009 11:32:31 EST Midwest Horse Fair, Madison, WI Is anyone from the team going to this? He was very impressed with Karma.

I asked him what breed he felt he was, and he said...Mustang. He has the ferril/wonderful feet of the Mustang and the Mustang head/body. He's only found a couple other horses with his feet as his, and they were Mustang.

He re...
