If you're interested send me a spark mail. :) Thu, 29 Apr 2010 01:03:59 EST looking for a new goal exactly one month ago, i ran a 5k. this 5k had been my goal marker for the previous 6 months. i have been doing okay on my fitness minutes, and not quite as good on my calories burned and some other aspects of my fitness. i think having a goal to work towards really helps me push myself in my runs, and my weight loss. the biggest problem is that i'm not sure what should be my next goal.

i've looked at a few fitness challenges. joined the virtual across america team, and looked at t... Wed, 14 Apr 2010 10:27:22 EST not quite where i wanted to be last September i mapped out a goal to lose almost 40 pounds by this weekend. This weekend i will be participating in a 5k that i've run at least 6 times (in lean AND in fat years). to reach my 40 pound loss i would have had to lose about 1.3 pounds per week. 1.3 pounds per week seemed reasonable. then there is reality.

REALITY
- getting so sick that i was essentially just another part of the couch for 3 days, and
- the cough and congestion lasted SIX WEEKS;
- sic... Thu, 11 Mar 2010 12:51:07 EST Hope I hope to bring health and ability to enjoy things I used to do back into my life. I want to go swimming, skiing and hiking without being uncomfortable about my appearance, and lack of stamina. I believe in balancing work, family, health and spirituality and somewhere along the way I forgot health. I'm excited to bring it back and feel that energy again! Mon, 1 Feb 2010 11:34:43 EST Want to Retire Hi,
I'm new here and at the age were I'm thinking about my life after retirement. The problem is that the way I feel most of the time I think what's the point. All I do is sit around when I'm not working. I believe that with the tool's that I have here I can get some energy back and start to enjoy life again more fully. I'm excited again for the first time. Hopeful in Orem. Sun, 24 Jan 2010 10:30:51 EST A little bit about me. I'm 47 years old and facing going back to college. I need to lose about 150lbs, and I'd like to do that by the time I graduate. I'm currently unemployed, and am looking for a job, but I strongly believe that there is bias (whether concious or uncious) towards fat people. Also, I feel like crap all the time! I'd really like to feel better and have the energy to do more with my family, and be able to fit into places that I can't now. Like roller coasters, air plane seats, nice looking clot... Can anyone Please, help me figure out what I need to do to get started losing this 100+ pounds I need to lose? Mon, 2 Nov 2009 10:55:12 EST Hello! Hi, I'm new here. My name is Allison. I'm excited to use Spark to live a healthier lifestyle! Thu, 8 Oct 2009 11:43:34 EST Winter Workouts Hi all, new to spark and overweight in Provo. When I run during the colder months I feel like I get sick too easily (and it's tough to run in the snow). I let my gym membership lapse because I am poor and hated their way of "doing business." Anyway, any cheap or free alternatives to running and working out outside in the cold? Thanks! Mon, 5 Oct 2009 18:46:07 EST New in Provo Hey guys, I guess I'm new on spark people. I am looking for running, biking, and swimming buddies. I like to run hills and stairs and road bike. I do short distances too, like 3-5 mile runs, but would be up for more if people out there want to run. Not many of my friends are runners. Let me know if you're up for it! Tue, 25 Aug 2009 11:56:37 EST Stouffers thrift store in springville has great prices on leancuisins and lean pockets. They are great for one of those, ug I just don't have time to cook,or when my family is having pizza or something. The LC French bread pizzas aren't bad.

Yea, they have more sodium than I want but they are cheap and fit into my diet. I always add more veggies which makes them more satisfying. Sun, 14 Jun 2009 13:00:10 EST walking buddy/or walking group My name is Nancy. 47, mom to 6 kids. Needing to lose another 40 lbs.I live just east of BYU. I am looking for a walking buddy/or buddies, 1 to 3 times a week for about 30-60 minutes at a time. I work at the hospital 3 days a week, so 4 days I could walk pretty much any time, the 3 days I work it would have to be at 7pm.

Anyone interested? Nancy Sun, 14 Jun 2009 09:28:31 EST New Mommy in Provo I have been on sp for 2 and a half weeks now. I have had my good and bad days...I have a 10 month old son, so finding time to work out has been the biggest challenge along with finding the time to make something healthy instead of grabbing something fast and bad. I am really hoping to find some support because I dont have much at home.
Crystal Tue, 2 Jun 2009 17:01:07 EST New to this team I am Brittanie and I live in American Fork. I have been a member for a while but I haven't been on for a while. I lost track of everything. I am hoping to lose about 50 pounds or more and I have a beautiful little girl. My husband and I moved to Utah about a year ago and moved into a home in Saratoga Springs 6 months ago. We love it here! Anyone else in Saratoga Springs?

Karen Fri, 15 May 2009 19:41:04 EST May is bike month Did you know that May is bike month? I'm going to try and ride my bike every day possible (there are just some days that I have to be somewhere else, so need my car).

It's only 1.5 miles to work, but that's 3 miles of riding (and cardio) that I wouldn't have gotten in sitting in my car.

I actually did the math today. It will take 8.3 days for me to save 1 gallon of gas and in that same 8.3 days I will have burned 1792 calories. I like that math. Mon, 4 May 2009 14:29:58 EST New in Provo Well, I'm gonna have a really slow start, since I'm coming out of being ill for months and months, but wahoo! There's at least a start! Wed, 1 Apr 2009 16:32:16 EST weekly weigh-in meetings I would like to start a weekly weigh-in meeting for anyone who would like to come. I've been a member of weight watchers before and I know how effective it can be to have a public weigh in every week and to have people lifting you up and cheering you on. I also know how quickly the cost of weight watchers can add up - which is why this weigh in would be 100% free.

What do you guys think? Would you come? Where could we do it? I live in Provo but there's not enough room in my ho... I am learning so much about myself and the way I eat. I have exercised consistently for about 20 years, but that doesn't stop the weight gain if you eat too much chocolate. 29 I hope by tracking daily calories I can continue losing the weight I've accumulated over the past 24 years. I need help in keeping motivated on this and I liked what ... Mon, 12 May 2008 23:59:29 EST GREAT DAY Ok Friends, I have not posted in a while. How are you all doing? I weighed myself this morning just after taking a shower and it showed 189.8 (or something like that). I thought it was a zero error (happens occasionally with my digital scale, but auto-corrects immediately after) and was so pleased it did not auto-correct. I tried a couple more times to make sure I wasn't dreaming and after getting dressed weighed again and it showed 192.2, so sure enough, the 189.8 was correct earlier. After I...
