Hi, I am from Raleigh, NC, work at home versus RTP, in the SWG---My dear friend told me about this extended site as a means to get encouragement to lose the extra weight. Tue, 22 Jan 2008 08:29:48 EST Hi - back with spark again! I have to admit I had a period of 'non-spark' time. Last year was a challenging year - I pretty much threw all my good eating and workout habbits out the window (or at least put them on hold). Anyone else having issues with work and life just taking over?
With the new year I am trying to get back on the waggon. Want to loose about 30 pounds by May time frame.
What works for you best? Mon, 14 Jan 2008 09:32:48 EST Something new with SP Just wanted to make you aware of a new feature here on Sparkpeople. It meant having to create a new ID, etc. I wish the folks who manage that website would still give those of us coming to SP a way to be able to log in.

Thu, 27 Dec 2007 09:27:38 EST A new kid on the block Hello world! (Can you tell I am a computer programmer? :) )
I am thrice new - a new IBMer, a new dieter, and a new SparkTeam member. I've experienced so many changes in my life over the last couple of years that just iterating them would fill out a "War and Peace"-size volume. I am longing for some stability and support for a change. And some weight loss, what the heck?
:)
Happy Holidays, everyone!
Sara Tue, 25 Dec 2007 22:07:54 EST New to SP I'm brand new to SP - just joined last night so I barely know what's going on. But it's time to lose some weight, and since some of my friends are here, I'm giving it a try.

I'm fairly new to IBM as well - my company was acquired last year, and yesterday was our one-year anniversary as IBM. Fri, 2 Nov 2007 13:47:17 EST Hi There Hi, I'm not an actual "IBMer" as the term goes, but I am a contractor "vendor" in the Austin Tivoli office.

I hope to get to know some of you. I have done years of Virtual Fitness Center Challenges and joined Sparks in January to track diet. Have been up and down for years (mostly up), but still classify myself as athletic. I have been consistently participating in a group fitness weight class for 19 weeks now, started a taichi/yoga/pilates type class, and am trying to be more consistent with good food choices and portion control. ... Mon, 20 Aug 2007 12:10:13 EST new to team Hi Everyone, I am new to the IBM team but I have been in Spark People for a while. I earned my rebate and I have lost 17 pounds so far. I am not just following sparkpeople though. My husband and I are doing nutrisystems together. he has lost 20 pounds. I find nutrisystems fits in fine with sparkpeople. the only thing that I do different is I have a nutrisystem meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner and dessert. I supplement that with fresh fruits, dairy, and veggies. I like the portion c... Thu, 16 Aug 2007 18:51:49 EST I'm here hi! as others have noted, I discovered this team through the recent email that came around. I think I first signed up w/ SparkPeople in Dec 05. I used the meal planner and successfully lost weight, but the better result was a wonderful feeling of being healthy. Since then I have strayed, so I'm back. Overall my main goal is to be healthy and fit. "Diets" don't work long-term, and I'm glad SparkPeople recognizes that. This is really a great resource! Glad to be part of the team 21... Thu, 16 Aug 2007 13:36:49 EST Joining Team IBMers I found this site myself several weeks ago looking for some other method to track my nutrition and exercise as I had been using work/nutrition sheets I print out. When I saw a note from "Wellness" through IBM that there is a team using the same tool, I chose to join. I'm coming off of a year of medical issues that took me out of weight lifting. I had to switch to Circuit Training due to a Minor Stroke and Ruptured disc as well as several other discs about to blow out. It's been tough not lift... Thu, 16 Aug 2007 10:52:52 EST Jump in with both feet.... Just found out about this team from a 'Wellness' email. I've been with SP about a month, and IBM close to 2 years now. Thu, 16 Aug 2007 09:29:20 EST Was your SparkPeople Site down this weekend? Hi All,

This weekend, I could not access IBM's Wellness for Life site and therefore was unable to access SparkPeople. Did anyone else experience this? I didn't even know who to call.

I WAS LOST WITHOUT THIS!!!! and without all of you!!!!!!

I have only been a member of SparkPeople for 1 month and I didn't realize what a dramatic impact this has had on me. Just wondering how you all fare on this site...
Do you use the food tracker, meal planner, read the articles, communicate with teams other than "IBMers"? Is it of benefit?

I find the articles interesting and sometimes helpful. I've lost weight in various ways in the past but never counted calories and it doesn't really seem to be a help (other than the shock value it adds). I'm not sure whether Wellness meant I SHOULDN't go straight into SP, because the fact is I can with the password they sent me (I got a separate PW from Well... Thu, 25 Jan 2007 18:14:23 EST Hello I am New to SparkPeople and IBM! Hello, my name is Annie, and I wanted to introduce myself to the IBMer's team. I have recently started at IBM, so it has been about 10 months for me. It has been a really busy few months, adapting to the IBM environment (working so lonely at the client site) but I have finally been able to make time to participate in sparkpages. I am really enjoying the site, and everyone is keeping me so motivated.

I was pretty upset when it was too late for me to apply to the $150 fitness rebate... Fri, 19 Jan 2007 21:43:27 EST Newbie! Hi All! Today is my 25th anniversary w/the company and I thought I'd join this team to see if there is any benefit during my struggle to loose the first few pounds. Working at home, sitting at the laptop for at least 10 hrs a day and most days, more, really doesn't help me stay healthy or thin. I'd appreciate all advice and will be glad to support you in your goals. **JB Thu, 18 Jan 2007 10:59:21 EST East Fishkill IBM Anyone here from the Fishkill site.
