SparkPeople 30 somethings with 10-24 pounds to lose Team Messageboard This team is for those of us in our 30's, hoping to lose 10-24 pounds. Welcome! SparkPeople 30 somethings with 10-24 pounds to lose Team Messageboard Introducing... Maybe Hello all, I'm not really sure what to say to introduce myself. I'm 38 years old (turning 39 in February) and would like to get in better shape and learn how to stay healthy. I've been on SparkPeople before but that feels like a different person ago. I'm looking for motivation to get moving in a new direction. I look forward to getting to know those of you that are active on here and helping to support eachother. Wed, 6 Nov 2019 17:46:52 EST Does anyone else have this issue? Hi! I am no stranger to SP and have always enjoyed the forums. (New account though) Anyways I have been struggling hard the last two years to get out of the 130lbs area. Once I see a few lbs weight loss and I get excited. But then for some reason my brain thinks its time to relax and I gain it back again. It is definitely harder in your 30s to find motivation I am finding. The little things that used to motivate me in my 20s (competing with other people and a specific waist measurement) dont... I am an online student and full-time parent. I am married to a great guy, am an INFP, and tend to be very indoorsy and spend too much time sitting. I am trying to do a yoga with adriene video five times a week for my fitness as it is the only thing I will do inside and by myself. My doctor wants me to do keto, but I... Sat, 14 Apr 2018 05:22:04 EST Why Hello! So, I have decided to graduate from the 50-99 pound group (though I am sure I will still post over there) to this group! I am pretty excited!

I have lost a total of 47 pounds so far (since January), bringing me from 239 to 192. My goal weight is 175, so I am about 17 pounds from goal.

A little about me: I am 32 years old, I live in Ontario, Canada and I work in marketing. I am married and we are child free. My husband is also losing weight and he's down 40 pounds.
... Sun, 11 Jun 2017 21:13:34 EST New to the team, old to sparks So, when I originally joined this site, I was about what I weigh right now. But, that was 10 years ago, and a lot of life happened. I put on 114lbs after getting married, and realizing I had probably made a mistake.

When I came back to sparkpeople (after having to get a seatbelt extender on a flight in late 2014), I joined the 30 Somethings with Over 100lbs to lose.
It's taken me awhile, but, I'm slowly joining other teams. The 50-99lbs group, then the 25-49lbs groups. BUT, I... Tue, 9 May 2017 11:33:55 EST New Member Hello everyone! I am new to SparkPeople and I am very excited to get started on this journey. I would like to ask for meal plan ideas to get me started. EASY ON THE GO MEALS ARE preferred as I am a busy mom to two young littles.

Thanks so much Sat, 18 Mar 2017 10:11:46 EST Newbie Here!!! I just signed up today! I am new here, but not new to the workout world. I just registered for a half ironman, and I am hoping to get some motivation and possibly new friends who may be on the same journey! I am an avid runner as well...four time marathoner. I obviously swim and bike in addition to Crossfit. I sprinkle in yoga and dance to take a break from more grueling workouts. I hail from Pittsburgh, PA if any yinzers are on here Fri, 6 Jan 2017 18:03:30 EST New to SparkPeople Hi All, I'm a newbie. My goals are to add regular exercise to my daily routine and learn how to eat healthier. I'm a very busy working mom to three kids so my life is basically a juggling act. I find myself exhausted most of the time and I think that things could improve if I took better care of myself. I'm guilty of letting myself go, which is something I never thought I would do. I'm making myself a priority which will hopefully be a positive impact to all of my family. Fri, 28 Oct 2016 11:57:37 EST Starting again till it sticks Losing weight is a struggle for me. After finishing up with college in 2010, losing weight really became difficult. I think my biggest fault is being lazy and endulging in new and not so healthy foods I hardly ever ate in the past. As I got older the weight kept creeping. Once I hit my highest at 200 I knew I had to make a life change or life was going to suck me up and put me through one horrible roller coaster. I don't have a good family medical history and I fear if I don't make changes no... Mon, 11 Jul 2016 23:32:19 EST AM NEW HERE hey guys. I hope everyone is achieving their goals. I've lost almost 100 pounds by using the Sparkpeople program since 2013. I've since gained about 20 back for a variety of reasons, but mostly because I was training for my second marathon this year and required A LOT more calories on a daily basis just to function. Yes, it is possible to gain weight when running 50 miles per week. My clothes all still fit perfectly, but I want to lose those last 25 pounds -- the ones I gained and the 5 I never managed to lose the first time... I'm new to this site and am looking forward to reading inspirational messages and to be inspired by others! Wed, 30 Apr 2014 13:45:12 EST Graduating to this team! I'm new to this team after losing 79 pounds and graduating from the 25-50 pounds to lose group. I'm within 20 pounds of my goal and finding it harder and harder to lose even one pound. I've been plateaued for weeks now. I know this is normal, if discouraging, and am just sticking to my routine. Anyone have any tips for breaking the plateau when your goal is in sight? Mon, 28 Apr 2014 02:04:20 EST How do i avoid getting hungry?? Does anybody else enjoy high calorie foods which leads to eating what I want and then trying to make up for it this then leads me to irregular eating patterns and hunger!! Any tips ??? Thu, 17 Apr 2014 16:41:08 EST Couch to 5k... Anyone else? Hi guys! I have been active on and of on sparkpeople for the last couple of years and I recently remembered how awesome it is! I am using the couch to 5k app and am on week 3. I just wanted to know if anyone else is starting a running program using this? I am (hopefully!!) going to jog a 5k in Charleston, SC when I visit my family there in about a month. Some days I love it and most other days it requires a lot of motivation. I bought some bluetooth headphones online as a motivation gift for ... Fri, 11 Apr 2014 14:26:01 EST Second go-round Hello all! This is my second time on SP. Currently I am on a split goal on my weight-loss journey. My husband and I want to start TTC our second child this summer, but before that happens I have 11 lbs I want to lose to get to my last healthy weight. My overall weight-loss goal is to lose 26 more lbs (which would technically kick me out of this group), but short term goals are best for my situation. If I can meet my overall goal before getting a BFP that would be great, but I will not be upse... I'm a 35 yr old married mother of an 11 yr old, soon to be 9 yr old and a 6 mo old. I was diagnosed with PCOS and Insulin Resistance in 2006, prescribed 1500 mg of Metformin and exercise. That worked well until I became pregnant last year. I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, put on a strict diet and a new medicine. After giving birth to my daughter I thought nursing would help get me back in shape as it did so many other women. Nope, not me. I gained 30 more poun... Sat, 9 Mar 2013 20:28:45 EST Dealing with injuries Hello all! I joined a little bit ago, but never had the opportunity to introduce myself. I have about 10 pounds to loose, but am dealing with a few obstacles I'm hoping to get some help getting around. I was in a pretty bad car accident almost a year ago, where I injured my lower back, my neck, right shoulder and wrist. Also, my right ankle has been sprained several times, and it is sometimes hard to walk. Before all this happened, I was going to the gym 3-5 times a day, doing HIIT and we... Sat, 9 Mar 2013 13:09:43 EST New Mom looking to lose 20-30 lbs more HI there - I now have a 2 year old and 4 month old twins. After my first pregnancy I lost all of the weight and then some - I was so happy. But back then with only one child I was able and motivated to workout 4 plus times a week. Now I hardly workout (time and motivation and culprits) and have to rely on eating a pretty low-cal diet to reap benefits of losing weight. I lost the first 30 lbs in the first 4 months and now of course it is slowing down. I am accepting it is going to take mo... Thu, 7 Mar 2013 11:29:49 EST tried to delete this... reposting on other topic Thu, 7 Mar 2013 10:01:25 EST Online Nutrition Classes, anyone? I have just signed up on for a couple of online nutrition classes. One is called Nutrition, Health, and Lifestyle: Issues and Insights. There are a couple of other ones that look interesting. I don't know how good the classes are, but I thought it would be a cool way to help me stay motivated while winter drags on. Does anyone else want to take them? I thought maybe we could talk about them on here or something. Or if you want to take them on your own, thats ok too.
<BR... Tue, 5 Mar 2013 14:41:55 EST Pressure to be thin Maybe it's my age or the fact that I feel like "me" at a certain weight but lately I've been feeling pressure to be thin for reasons outside of what I personally desire. I think it has a lot to do with moving across the country last year. Where I used to live, it was highly ethnic and low income. It wasn't exactly a culture of fit and lean. Here in our new city, I'm actually considered curvy. It seems like everyone my age is 5"10" and 115lbs. I don't want to be that thin but it just feels so ... Mon, 4 Mar 2013 08:54:24 EST Hello All! I was looking through my spark messages and I kept getting messages from the 20 somethings with 50-99 lbs to lose group and it dawned on me that I'm no longer a 20 something and I don't have 50-99lbs to lose anymore, I need to lose only 10-15, so here I am!! These last few have really been the hardest test of my weight loss journey! Fri, 1 Mar 2013 10:19:53 EST What is your current diet and exercise plan? How many calories are you restricting? How many are you burning off through exercise? What exercises do you do and how often? How long have you been at it and how long do you think you have to go to reach your goal weight? Thu, 28 Feb 2013 09:20:57 EST HI EVERYONE...NEW to SPARK...excited Hi Everyone,
I am new to Spark People and I just wanted to tell everyone HIIIIII, and I am excited to get started on this road to being healthy. My ultimate goal is to be toned overall and run a 5k. I look forward to the support and being supportive :-) Tue, 26 Feb 2013 01:45:14 EST Best tools on the site? I just signed up, my mother told me of this site. It really seems great and I'm glad it's free! So what are some of the best tools on here?..... and any success stories! always love those!!!!! Mon, 25 Feb 2013 14:23:01 EST A new way to calculate caloric goals I don't know about you all but I didn't realize I was eating too many calories until I started my nutrition class last month. There are at least 4 different methods used by the calculators you find online. In my case, between all the methods I have a calorie spread of over 200. I think that's a pretty big difference when you're trying to cut/burn 500 per day to lose 1lb a week.
To get to the new method, which I learned in my nutrition class, is to convert your current weight into kilogra... Mon, 25 Feb 2013 14:22:36 EST I just bought... ...a goal weight swimsuit! I am so excited to begin tracking my progress here with Spark People! I have set a goal to lose 15 pounds but if I hit 20 that would be amazing :) I will be joining a cycling group this spring and will be riding 50-100 miles and would also like to train for a half marathon later in the year. I have been doing the Insanity workouts for the last week and have to admit that it is kicking my butt. My downfall is ice cream, I love to have a big bowl of it every night. So if any of you have any gre... Mon, 18 Feb 2013 15:23:10 EST Unrelated: Love Bomb! I'm helping to form a team that is really just a weekly activity - we get together once a week and send someone a huge bunch of supportive messages and goodies and blog comments. It's simple - we find someone who needs support and we give it. It helps if it's a substantive comment, but even a "Keep Pushin!" emoticon is nice. You can comment on an SP page, on a blog post, or even send an SP Mailer note. Just do something to let our person of the week know they have support and that people out... I started up with Spark People (again) on Jan 1 of this year determined to lose 14lbs (10 of which are left over from my third baby i had 2 years ago). I started at 144 and trying to get to 130. I have been consistent with my exercise, mainly cardio, and sticking to my calorie range. The first week I lost 3 lbs and 1 lb the next so I am down to 140. My body seems to like this weight and I have a VERY hard time getting below this. I have weighed... Wed, 23 Jan 2013 07:30:31 EST New to Sparks! Hello Sparkspeople. Sun, 20 Jan 2013 18:16:11 EST Back and hopeful... I joined spark people in 2010 when I weighed 126 lbs and felt like I could stand to lose a few pounds. Soon into joining, I became discouraged and stopped tracking. Now I weigh 140 lbs (ugh) and I can stand to lose more than a few. I wish that I had stuck with it the first time. Oh well, on to better things. I am going to try to become committed again. This evening I will walk for 20 minutes. Thu, 17 Jan 2013 15:08:10 EST Any ideas that might help me? I hope I'm in the right place to introduce myself and perhaps get some feedback. I'm 34 female 5'4, and I have had two episodes of sudden drastic weight gain without change in diet or exercise. The first time it happened was 50lbs and it stayed on for a couple years and then just fell off completely, again, with no change in diet or exercise. This time I've gained and I tried diet and exercise when it started but I just kept gaining and can't seem to shake it. I've only gained 20 though a... I am really feeling run down lately, and would love to change my life. I do NOT move my body enough, and I feel like fatty food is all I am craving! Mon, 14 Jan 2013 16:07:45 EST Hello All!! My lifestyle changed pretty drastically about a year ago. I was used to working out 3-4 times a week and eating well, cooking only for myself and my daughter. When my boyfriend and I decided to combine our families it meant moving an hour away from the gym and unfortunately a change in diet as well. All of this directly leading to a an almost 30 pounds weight gain in a year. I am tired of feeling frumpy and not fitting my clothing anymore and most importantly, not being confident or comfortab... I want to enter my 40's 10 lbs lighter. I am going to start walking my dogs on a regular basis and track my steps. I know I should also keep a food diary, but I really don't enjoy that. If the scale hasn't moved in the right direction by June I will rethink the food diary thing. Wish me luck! Tue, 8 Jan 2013 13:02:46 EST Looking to loose 20Kgs My name is Ruth from Kampala Uganda. I am married with two children and 38 years of age. My work involves sitting on my desk the whole day. I try to exercise though not consistent. Happy New Year, AND not so happy new weight! I am excited about this website, this team page and a new weight. I had my 4th and last child 2 years ago December. I never lost all my weight I was sitting at 136. Not bad, I was ok with it. Then, I was put on a medication that increases your appetite. I specifically remember my Dr. telling me it's not the medication that makes you gain weight it's you're eating habits or lack of discipline that makes you gain weight. I was ok at first, then I sta... And isn't it amazing what a fast-paced walk with an ipod can do for your mental state! Who knew?) Anyway, I started to not want that 4th or 5th slice of pizza (who has time to cook!?)...
