Mon, 17 Nov 2014 14:52:11 EST New to Team I am a 63 yr old grandma who loves to cook and am trying to live a healthier lifestyle starting with foods I cook and eat. I love to cook and read cookbooks like some people read novels. Often it's hard to find healthy but tasty recipes when cooking for two. I don't want to compromise on flavor. I work part-time, so on my days off I love to cook and make extra for the freezer. Always looking for new recipes and good tips both for cooking and eating healthy.
Marge Thu, 29 May 2014 10:00:21 EST Favorite GREEN dish Creamy Broccoli Soup sprinkled with chives and sharp cheese.
Spinach and Artichoke Dip
Mon, 10 Mar 2014 16:18:52 EST Healthy Superbowl 2014 What is on the Menu for your Super Bowl event. I am new to the group, and have a recipe I wanted to share. My husband and I participate in the Daniel Fast every January with our prayer group and you can only pretty much have fruits, vegetables and whole grains. As such, I am always hard pressed to find things for breakfast. We are allowed to have oatmeal on the fast, but I don't like the texture of oatmeal. Well, I found a recipe for baked oatmeal and decided to try it. My husband absolutely loved it and so did I. When... I ended up with WAY too much barley in this soup. I suspect that I'll have a lot of beef-flavored barley once the beef, carrots and mushrooms run out. Oh well, I can freeze it for side dishes with hamburger, I guess.

2) I used a lot of richly flavored ingredients in it: beef, mushrooms, carrots and unsalted beef broth.
