So here's our new check in board for the month.

Lori, glad to see you're able to take some time off to get ready for back to work/school. I really don't know how Moms do it. :-)

Glenda... orcas! I remember getting to see them ONCE during my time on Van Island, and it was during a crossing from Island to Mainland. They weren't there long, and migrating season had just begun. Hang in there, you'll see one!

Faith, yes, you got a warmer day today. Thank you ... Tue, 1 Sep 2020 11:32:47 EST July 2020 - Hot, Sticky, and At Home Hi everyone!

Sorry I didn't get to make the new thread right away.... we had a bonfire yesterday and it lasted most of the day.

So, any plans for this month?

Jojo Thu, 2 Jul 2020 10:33:36 EST June Bugs - Does it Bug You? A new month, a new weather pattern, and a new set of clothes.

Hey Sparkers!!

I can't believe it's already JUNE! I go through this every year, the "I can't believe it's already blah-blah!"

The bugs are out, the dandelions are teasing us with their pretty yellow flowers, and I have to get to the back yard and finish picking up sticks so the pygmies don't move into the yard. I can't keep up, but I'm trying.

And the lack of motivation for fitness has ... Mon, 1 Jun 2020 14:58:06 EST May We All Reach Our Goals - Check In Hi everyone,

I'm full of puns this week, so that's why I called this thread "May We All Reach Our Goals". LOL

Have a great weekend!

Jo Fri, 1 May 2020 14:42:24 EST Not April Fool's - Goals are REAL! - Check In Hey Peeps,

Here's our new thread for the month. And just like that, January is done.

And now, we have Freezing February to get through. Even with an extra day, it's still a short month.

How's it going? Fri, 31 Jan 2020 08:08:41 EST New Year, New Us! I finally made it back to create this month's Check-In thread. It's been a busy Christmas holiday, between visits to Moncton, Saint John and New Glascow. Wifey's birthday was yesterday, and since she was heading back to school for her LAST semester, we celebrated on Saturday. We laughed so much that my cheeks still hurt.

So nothing new for the New Year yet, but I have a few things that I want to work on to improve my happiness. The biggest one is to move away from the online ga... Mon, 6 Jan 2020 11:54:46 EST December Is Upon Us (just not on the hips please!) Well, as I sit here and contemplate the 3rd Kirkland cookie I've had and figure it's time to put the rest away for the night, I look around at the 4-legged souls in the house and feel grateful to have them here with me.

@GLENDA2017 mentioned Christmas shopping... I have gift cards being purchased with every grocery run. How about you? And if it's a big source of stress, share it here. Sometimes seeing it on the screen helps put everything in perspective.

@INSH8P , it'... Sat, 30 Nov 2019 18:03:09 EST In November, We Remember Hey team!

Sorry I was MIA for the beginning of the month, but I made it back!

Jo Mon, 4 Nov 2019 14:11:55 EST October Has "Fall"en Ok, so my titles aren't always original or without puns.

Lori, have you thought about going to Costco for a job? From what I hear, the floor staff are very well treated, pay is pretty good and health insurance & vacation are available. It's hard to adjust when you have several things going against you. Another suggestion about sleep.... try power naps throughout the day. 5-10 min naps here & there will help. As for the food.... I could never do the back shift without ... Tue, 1 Oct 2019 08:12:19 EST September - Back to Basics I think I fell off the face of the planet last week while on vacation. :-)

We went to PEI for the Acadian Festival just north of Summerside, and we had a great time! Salt water air is so good for the soul.

As for Dad... he's out of the hospital, and not "bad" enough to go to a nursing home. My sister is devastated, but she has a plan. We're pretty sure Dad lied or didn't offer all the info that he should have, so the evaluators didn't have enough to have him sent to ... Mon, 9 Sep 2019 10:34:31 EST Summertime in the Atlantic - Daily Check-In Hi everyone,

I meant to do this yesterday, but my truck got full of mud (after mudding!), and then I forgot. there aren't many of us left, so for the summer, I'm going to try having one thread for July and August this year.

How did YOU celebrate Canada Day? I'm looking forward to reading about her adventure! By the way, Glenda, what method did you use to send The Pooch out west?

My leg is feeling a bit better. I can walk a little better, and I'm purposely not doing cardio this week, to give it a chance to settle down.

I started my Travel Consultant training last night. So far, they're short online training units, so I can do 2 or ... Wed, 1 May 2019 08:09:15 EST Active April - Spring Is Finally Here! Hey everyone!

New month, new beginning, and warmer temps... I am looking forward to this month! Mosquitoes haven't started, ground is soft enough to dig up last year's tree stumps, and because we feed the dog raw foods, the only poop in the yard is the King Dobe's from down the road. :-D Now if only the 5' of snow that is still in the yard would melt a little more, I could actually find those tree stumps. ;-)

Spark it, even if you've been April Fooled! Often this is hard due to many things that life throws at us. Some things that work for me are:
Buying myself a reward each month, or when I can.
Treating someone else, or treating my Snoopy to a new toy.

Please share your ideas.

-Roger Sat, 30 Nov 2013 17:13:33 EST Checking In Been awhile since I checked in, I too slacked off during the summer and pounds crept back on, too much camping food I guess. I know I've got a lot coming up where there are days I'm going to not have much time to eat a proper meal, but everyone will be offering me coffee runs, or a bite of the pizza from next door and such, and my goal is to actually realize about what I'm putting in my mouth those days.... Wed, 30 May 2007 15:09:20 EST Crappy weather Is anyone feeling dragged down by the grey, rainy, crummy weather these days? I just can't seem to get motivated anymore. I can't walk outside, I don't want to go to the pool because I'm wet after and get cold just driving home. Yuck! I've got my new bike but I can't even go anywhere with it in the rain.

Boo hoo. Sat, 19 May 2007 08:07:29 EST Join The Spark on Cape Breton Island Hey ya'll!! I'm from St. Peter's Cape Breton Island. I love my little village, I created this group because i just thought it would be nice to have a community based team, and narrow it down to more than the maritimes or canada, Most cape bretoners can relate to one another, so i thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to draw people to a healthy lifestyle here on the island, by joining forces and lending encouragement.

n_Cape_Breto... Everyone knows, if you live in Eastern Canada, the weather isn't always perfect for exercise outdoors. I just came back from a walk, sweaty, cold and flushed. The weather is a chilly 3 degrees, overcast and foggy. I wanted to know what fellow East Coasters do to beat the weather and exercise successfully!

Let me know what kinds of different exercises you do to buff up, tone up, and shed pounds!
Mon, 30 Apr 2007 10:32:12 EST New member Hi,
Hope I'm doing this in the right place.

I joined SP quite a while ago, then quit. But now I'm back.

I live in NS, on the South Shore. Am a mostly SAHM to our son and daughter, work one hour a day at their school as a playground supervisor.

Dorothy Tue, 24 Apr 2007 07:07:54 EST Post here if you've screwed up royally... I had over 4000 calories on Saturday. It was mexican night with friends (we only do it once every 2 months, thank God). The sad thing is that I thought that I was doing well (not within my budget but better than 4000 cals). If I had of forgotten the daiquiris (I estimate I had 9) and the corn chips (I think I ate half a large bag) and the guacamole that I had to have with them, I would have only been at 2000. Oh well, it's only a mistake if I don't learn from it. Sun, 22 Apr 2007 19:51:33 EST Need some attention for a job well done? Post here Hello all!
